Thanks for posting another game with McNair. I was just watching McNair from one of games at Alcorn State the other day. Imagine him with Andy Reid or Kyle Shanahan now. That would be nuts. He would simply glisten in the current era.
Steve was so damn good one of the best qbs of the 2000s yet no one gives him the respect he deserves so many underrated qbs from the 2000s mcnair McNabb Culpepper hassleback
@@sludge8506as far as his on Field no he definitely doesn't get the respect he deserves I've never heard him brought up on any kind of snf or MNf titans game or any titans game in general at best someone will mention the scramble against stl and that's it

Sadly, that will be the fate of(almost)every QB who fails to win a SB. You will never be seen as an All Time Great without a Lombardi Only Marino survived with his legacy not as damaged as it could be
Kordell Stewart was a versatile athlete back in his day who is mostly remembered by his time as "Slash". He was a quarterback, running back and wide receiver in the NFL before remaining a quarterback for the rest of his football career.
@@jwilliwonka He was more of a fill in punter and general special teams guy for them, but he did punt for a game. He's generally underrated because Pittsburgh did him dirty, he was quite a weapon for the Steelers for a good while. The Steelers just never got over the hump and won a championship although Stewart led many great contending teams.
@@Eli-ss9gj problem with y’all weirdos or Patriots fans is…yall address everything but the “cheating”. They were caught cheating. We might’ve put up more points if they weren’t stealing video recording signals. F*ck outta here
@@Eli-ss9gjI’m a Steelers fan and I agree, Steelers on special teams that day were worse than dog 💩 that being said the Pats did cheat through that first dynasty run. Can’t deny it but at the end of the day it is what it is.
Sometimes people shit on kordell or act like he wasn't that good but forget he was a triple option qb in college and a WR his first few year's in the nfl yet eventually had an almost 10 year career as qb with a couple very high level ones as qb
He took some carries in the NFL. In ‘95 the Steelers moved him all over the place and scored at least 1 td at each position. Then he replaced O’Donell at QB
I remember watching these games with my dad , may he rest in peace even though I'm sure he's disappointed I'm not happy yet even though I'm pretty damn close ....
Steve McNair and Eddie George, both of them used to haunt the Steelers. This 2001 year, the Steelers dating back to the 1997 season had lost 7 in a row to the Oilers/Titans franchise, including a pair of nail bitters in 2000 by scores of 23-20 and 9-7, which ended up keeping them out of the playoffs that year. This 2001 season, the Steelers broke the jinx and beat the Titans twice, including getting their first ever win here in Nashville.
Kordell was ahead of his time. Maybe over the top but he’d be a super star in today’s game. Stronger arm than Lamar, not as fast but fast enough. Only thing that got in the way of this team was the kicking game. Cost them in the end.
This was to me one of the biggest “what if” Steelers teams under Cowher behind the 2004 squad. They were loaded in 01 and played a horrendous AFC championship game vs a 10 point dog (Spygate too?) JK.
Just felt like Stewart should have stayed SLASH, felt he had far more value being an athletic receiver/running back and the occasional drives at QB than he was being an ok full time QB.

Too bad McNair died so young. . Too bad he couldn’t decide who he wanted to be with - His WIFE or his GIRLFRIEND who was 16 years younger than him & she shot him to death & then shot herself & died, too. Might’ve been good on the field but he paid a horrible price for his personal choices. Feel sorry for the wife & children.
This was also their final game as division rivals. 2001 was the last year of the old AFC Central
Definitely remember it being special for something else
Loved that old AFC Central. Some Great Times!
Yep. The Oilers/Titans were the Steelers #1 rival in the early 90s up to 2002 with the realignment. Baltimore would take the rival mantle then

Kordell Stewart was so versatile and fun to watch. A lot of trick plays and moving him all over the field.
RIP Steve McNair. He was such a good player for the Titans. Watched him when I was a teenager.
I remember watching this live and recording on VCR tape, playing this matchup on Madden and NFL Blitz. I used to love this era of Steelers football.
Man the old AFC Central division before the 2002 realignment was fun
I remember when Steve McNair was a quarterback that can beat you with his arm, but he’s a very elusive runner for a QB

Pleasantly surprised by this Steelers/Titans throwback choice
I thought it was gonna be the 2002 AFC Divisional Playoff

The Steelers treated him badly, so that’s why he played for several different teams. They didn’t respect him as a player.

Such a great era of Steelers and Titans football, and an amazing rivalry.

2001 was a resurgent year for the Steelers
And was a fall back year for the Titans..they had been 13-3 99-00,Super Bowl runner up,no.1 seed, just injuries and age caught up with them 2001

r.i.p Steve McNair. great player and great arm to.
In my brain, I never put Kordell and Plaxico on the same team, they seem like they're from different eras.
