Honestly, I think it's the dialogue. Often when you think the acting is super bad, listen to what they're saying. "You'll get there babycakes" is not something a real person would ever say. If the script supervisor doesn't know what they're doing, the actors are the ones who get the blame. Same thing happened in the Star Wars prequels
I have the book and I saw the movie. The movie is very faithful to the story that the book tells. Tristan Cole has exactly the expression and beauty that Ryan Carnes delivers.

I can't wait! I've been counting down the days. Some scenes in this book have lived rent free in my mind since I read it so I'm happy to see them make the cut for the film - lol. I also love when my soapie stars are in movies/series, since I know there is at least that many good actors, I do enjoy the actors/actresses I don't know as well but like having at least one cast member I know lol!
