I just watched it and it's worth it for the Fallen book fans! There are changes made but in my opinion, it made the story more mysterious and realistic and relatable in a way. Loved it! Looking forward to season 2!

This looks so far removed from the books it’s ridiculous. The guy playing Daniel, looks nothing like the book description, not anywhere near. It’s almost like they’ve turned it sci-fi and removed the angel aspect and taken it from a school to a psychiatric hospital 😢 If books are going to be adapted, they need to at least follow the book plot.
I agree, large in part that books should be adapted faithfully. Worked out for Hunger Games and Twilight. Even though poorly produced, the Divergent books aswell. However, this being British produced removing the angel aspect kinda makes since for them. In any recently produced British media I've seen they are largely agnostic or out right make fun of God worshipping individuals. Them attempting to switch the narrative makes sense. But I will agree that in doing so it removes the meaning of what the book was titled for Fallen. As in Fallen Angel, and if you removed that, its just a reincarnation story mixed with an immortal being.
Yeah, Fallen was my favorite book when I was in school. This is NOTHING like the vibes. This is going to flop harder than the original movies did. At least that movies kept the same aesthetic and character descriptions.

I need to read the book if this is what I think it is. This trailer makes it seem so different than the 2016 movie, that I'm unsure if this is another adaption...on another note, if they are remaking unsuccessful book to movie adaptations, I want a Beautiful Creatures series. I mean, I liked both Fallen and Beautiful Creatures movies, but both dropped their sequel, so I guess it didn't do as well as expected. Edit: And where can I watch this?
Fallen as a book series is severely underrated. I just saw this trailer for the first time now and might go watch it. I saw the movie years ago and it wasn't HORRIBLE but it wasn't the best thing either, some of the intense moments came off cheesy. Hope this is better. I of course noticed the immediate departure from the books, but im starting to respect change if the changes were necessary. I see a handful of comments saying that the angel aspect was removed, having not seen the show the trailer gave me that impression HOWEVER, its British made so lack of a God factor even if they are fallen angels makes sense. The UK as a whole is fairly secular, but the books place a portion of the God aspect on the back burner and you're only reminded they are Angels when it's pertinent. So I don't know if being secular would play into that change. Sorry no one is probably reading this far in but, eh, ill still give it a watch.
I love this adaptation and I hope a second season is confirmed soon. When I saw it I finished it in one day because it was so addictive and good. I just hope they don't cancel it.

It was supposed to look gothic - every other show or media is unnecessarily dark & depressing. This show's season 1 was supposed to look like that, whereas s2 should've looked bright as this. The films had that dark, horror, magic & intrigue! (Love the new cast though)
There's a series of four books. Which I think we're good up until the last one. And the movie wasn't like 2016-2017 which I found to be quite decent in its own right I wish they would have continued it.
Personally for me, the movie hits better. Actors actually resembled the original caracters more and the plot was on track with the book. I think this series is not so bad stand alone, but it is far away from the books, which is really a shame.

They’ve already tried to make this movie once. Why are they doing it again? And why can’t they just follow the book? It’s a literal script with detailed character descriptions. I read these when they first came out and I think the time has passed, this isn’t for todays YA audience anymore.
I'm sorry but they took away what makes Fallen special and they turned it into your typical dystopian story. If they wanted to do this kind of plot why not choose one of the multiple good dystopian/sci-fi young adults books there are out there?
Why even do it then if your gonna leave out the Angel aspect thats the whole book series being reincarnated for love and the The Fallen are literally the angels from heaven . This makes me sad someone who understands the true plot line and reasoning behind the books should have been the one to make it into a movie or show 😢
I watched all 8 episodes and yet didn't understand the ending! Can u tell what happens in the end? They r surrounded by outcast and where does luci teleport to?
Interesting storyline, but at the same time these kinds of stories make it seem like God is aloof and apart from us and does not love. These stories always have God punishing someone for falling in love. God punishes lust, but He does not punish love (if it's a true, pure love). He is love Itself, the Angels love beyond anything we can imagine, yet they cannot compare to His love. But I suppose the unrealistic thing about this movie is that Angels don't get married, they don't fall in love that way. They love each of us so much, but they don't want to have a family with us. The other unrealistic thing is that you can't choose a middle ground when it comes to choosing between God and the devil, you either choose good or bad, because satan also owns the middle ground. If you're choosing those you love and good then you're choosing God, whether you realize it or not, and hopefully they do realize that. But they can't stay in the middle and run from God, because He won't force them to be with Him, and that may end up in them being separated from Him forever.
This is nothing like the books. None of the characters look like they're supposed to and the angel aspect is completely missing. They changed a lot. The psychiatric part was not like this in the books. In my opinion it was by far the worst adaptation. The movie was closer but unfortunately it wasn't as exciting as reading it. Everytime they make an adaptation it's a disappointment. You'll probably only like it if you didn't read the books. Hopefully someday they'll make a better version of it and Lauren Kate has a say in it but for now I'll stick to my books.
