I used Unicorn for 4 years and I can say its the best bike I ever had. Coz of its refined engine, mileage and the comfort. I used it ride it for 300kms without taking long breaks and never used to get tired
I m not using unicorn, but i ride my friend's unicorn, i can say itis the best bike to ride in city and also long ride bike... The ergonomic of this bike is so excellent..
Unicorn was suppose to be discontinued in 2011 itself when Dazzler was launched.
My friend booked Dazzler in may 2011 and got it delivered in 2 weeks.
I booked Unicorn 🦄 in July 2011 but got it in Dec 2011.
(I was asked to go for Dazzler but I choosed Unicorn despite its long waiting period)
that dealer told Únicorn will be discontinued by 2011
But still I went for unicorn.
The bike and design might look old but still it is practical and no nonsense bike.
Very easy to maintain, minimal electronics so easy to repair.
Good mileage and mainly pocket friendly.
It's been 11 years but still
The engine noise and smoothness is like brand new.
It's engine becomes smoother and smoother as it gets old.
Gem from Honda.
I think Unicorn is the only bike in 150cc segment which continues to carry the same Design for almost 18 years.
Uniqueness of this bike.

Same here.. I am using Oct 2011 CB unicorn. The engine noise and refinement is exactly same as it was on day 1.
Even after driving 50200 there is no need to change chain set and clutch plates.
Mine is also 2011 model. Very smooth. Sometimes I'm confused if the bike is On or Off. Very less engine noise. Engine never opened. I repair bike by myself because 2 wheeler mechanics in Hyderabad are worst. In one servicing charge we can buy most tools required.

I am using unicorn 2nd gen( alloy wheels, self start and graphics) last 15.9 years, it's an amazing bike with excellent performance and good mileage.

Unicorn is just the best. Timely oil changes the engine will be remain sealed for good 1 lakh kilometres.
@@camsvisay Cousin had driven it for 1+ years 🥰 without checking/changing the oil. As the oil ran out, the vehicle speed decreased and the drag became weak and piston became slightly damaged. filled it with engine oil and drove it again for 3+ years without any issues. 2years ago The rocker arm near piston had issue , replaced the rocker arm and that time replaced the old piston also.
Now Getting almost the same performance and ride feel as from the beginning.

I have been using Pulsar 150 since 2007. Still running smoothly with a mileage of 60-65 kmpl. 🥰 i am completely satisfied❤️.

60 is not possible.. I have Bajaj 125x it is giving me 55-60 kmpl I have ridden for 7k KMS.. my frnd have Bajaj 150.. his mileage is 35-40

Unicorn has evergreen classic looks. Just give it a projector LED headlight and twin disc brakes and it will be a killer.
Unicorn is king of comfort and quality. I am riding same Unicorn 150 since 2011. After riding 49800 Kms it is still my favorite bike. Have replaced just minor parts like brake shoes 2 times, tyres 1 time, front shock oil seal 3 times. Engine oil every 2000-3000 kms. Bike starts in 1 kick without hassle. Chain set, clutch plates, front disk are still not replaced. It is best bike with low maintenance and good milege. In beginning I used to get 58 Kmpl, now I am getting only 50 Kmpl.
Have done few long trips of 160, 220, 400 kms in single day without getting tired. 12 Year bike is giving me more than expected. I am really satisfied owner of Honda Unicorn 150, but not a big fan of Honda service center. After free services I am getting it service only from outside mechanic.
U r now getting 50 bcoz ur using the same chain spocket it looses the pulling power n creates burden on engine so ... change it n u will get same 55-60 mileage again

The thing about Honda is if they launch a product that will be near to perfect..There will be zero niggles..Thats why most of their products right from Activa ,shine,Unicorn,Dio the same for eternity and are still selling without any big updates..However most other brands need to update their products as they test their products on customers and sort it after that..
Then why except one Bike which is shine nothing is selling in Honda because they are over priced and they got problems
Nothing is selling? Just come out of your house. 6 or 7 out of 10 scooters is an activa. Highest selling 125cc is shine and sp125. Unicorn has more waiting period than any other 2 wheeler in our zone.

Unicorn is best if you want comfort & milage i get 57 kmpl from unicorn but it has worst head lamp i have ever used in bike you can not see anything in night ,my hero honda plaesure (9+ years) has a better light throw than unicorn
Yes that is right light is not good but then it can be upgraded solved /easily now by external led
A Honda is a Honda end of the day, better engine, better comfort, better reliability, better fuel consumption and that winged logo which stands for unmatchecd Japanese engineering. Miles ahead of any other brand, just by giving gimmicky features you cannot match a Honda.
Bajaj is the only brand which listens to its customers....
It always keeps improving with every new generation pulsars..
The latest generation of P and N series of pulsars has refinement better than tvs as well as gives equal competition to Japanese counterparts in terms of reliability and refinement....
Ideally, you should have selected single seat version of P150 for comparison.

My friend have p150 and he said he's getting... 53-55kmpl... He rides from... 50-70kms speed... So i dont think mileage issue is there in pulsar also.
I'm 42 and I'll pick Pulsar because Unicorn is ancient and Honda kept it that way because they were keen on making money only. The same goes for Activa also. Honda is very reluctant to make changes and they put a hight price on everything, even for a small update.
actually honda changed the designe of the bike to look more sporty and sleek inbetween few years ago that version even got a digital instrument cluster but it was not a hit in the market so they again got stuck with this classic looks but this has many parts and whole engin has been upgraded
Unicorn now has 160 cc engine fuel injected , earlier it was carb 150cc, unicorn was discontinued but due to enquiries and demand it was restarted, if you don't know many redesign unicorn were launched like 160, dazzler, and now new xblade , old hornet. Unicorn will be discontinued eventually but demand will still be there for those who have owned it or used it few times.
New pulsar looks and rides great.
@nirmal29in newer version of unicorn had digital speedo, new looks, led tail lights but demand of old unicorn is such that people were still willing to pay a premium 10-15k for old version on remaining stock at dealers when it was discontinued , so new version with digital speedo led tail lights, new body design was discontinued due to lack of demand and old version was bought back, people who looking for value buy for long term reliablity with low maintenance prefer it.
Honda cannot change the design, they created Unicorn Dazzler, but no one bought it. It is the same with Activa; their newer scooter models sell less than Activa. So again, they are victims of their own success.
Unicorn is the best in commuter segment. Smooth refined engine,good suspension setup,fuel efficient. Reliable motor, perfectly tuned for city commute and overall riding dynamics considering Indian road conditions. Still unicorn looks good even after many years. Road presence is there even with those neutral looks. Unicorn will be my choice.

Nothing can Beat Unicorn in Comfort & Refinement in its segment
I've Pulsar 150 2009 model in my family.
Really good bike with good handling, suspension, performance and mileage.
That's why we bought another Pulsar 150 Adventure sports in 2015. This machine is not as reliable and driveable as Original Pulsar 150.
Straightforward to today.
We bought a new Unicorn last week.
We've all 3 bikes in home even today.
Here are my observations
1)Pulsar 150 2009 model - Strong midrange, good mileage, reliable and affordable.
2) Pulsar 150 Adventure sports - Exceptional high speed stability, very good top end. Eye catcher on the road. Poor mileage, not so reliable, cumbersome to drive in city and slow speeds poor low end.
3) Unicorn 2024 - Good low end, comfortable seats, affordable and reliable.
But misses out on tech savvy features, handling is much vague compared to pulsar because of upright seating posture, average top end.
My verdict is Unicorn is too commuter like and Pulsar Adventure sports is too difficult for daily use.
Pulsar 150 Which is still available is complete all rounder.
Actually new unicorn 160 it is not good like old unicorn 150cc engine, in refinement old one is legend and this p 150 pulsar has ktm engine model
If your domestic companies powerful, your country gdp is automatically surpass 5 trillion dollar. And govt have extra money & indigenous develope technology is key for every developed country.
Bajaj, TVS, Royal Enfield, Hero & Ather is doing great 👍
If Honda puts some modern features in Unicorn, there will be no bike which will be comparable with Unicorn. It has been there since ages.

There has been sceptical audience on this particular bike after your review I should say, many Honda Unicorn owners reviewed and have expressed their grievances and unsatisfactory complains. So unlike your review, it has more cons than the pros. They reviewed their bike on a daily basis but you aren't though you are a moto reviewer. Please explain why is that?

You can't beat the Unicorn. It's the ultimate no-nonsense, working man, dal chaaval bike. It's so good at what it was designed to do that it had to be brought back by Honda after being discontinued due to the sheer public demand.
Yes all other failed new 160, dazzler 😀 even xblade.

p150 simple. amazingly refined and zero vibration
I am a Unicorn 2019 owner,
Old unicorns were the best value for money in 1lakh.
Now unicorn is around 1.4 lakh which is not value for money.
New 160 cc engines have more issues.
This 163 Unicorn is lighter than the old Unicorn 149 cc by approx 8-10 kgs .
Is there is any normal vibration in unicorn bs6 after 60-80km range. I feel it is this any machine problem or any other thing.but after 80 it is not show any vibration that's interesting.
No vibration on atleast 90 kmph
Till 100 after that i dont feel comfortable so dont push it
Yes i also felt that, but after changing to fully synthetic oil and changed my timing chain tensioner and valve clearance has been done yesterday, after that i think vibes around 60-70s almost vanished
What about Xblade compared to P150 pulsar
Unicorn is good but saala 3-5 months ka waiting hai. Plus, brokers se instant mil jayega but 6-9k extra deke aur 4-5 months old rehta hai. Brokers kuch chiz me compromise bhi karte hai like EW, Accessories etc.
(I know because I worked in Honda showroom till last month)
So I will prefer P 150, itna jhanjhat nahi chahiye.

I rode both CB Unicorn 160 and CB Unicorn 150. And I can tell you that this CB Uni 160 is crap. It has vibrations, stiff suspensions when compared to the previous 150cc version. This 160cc engine came from Unicorn 160 which was launched in 2015. Which was not so refined. Headlamp is also very poor.
So IMO if you are foolish infact Foolish enough to the core then Go for CB unicorn 160. Otherwise go for Yamaha FZS deluxe if you don't like the Pulsar's styling.
