This video is an excellent guide to memorizing their names, voices, and faces because they are directly referred to a few times during the podcast and those pictures/their voices make it very obvious who is who

Someone needs to make an operator movie but it’s Prussian Stosstruppen fighting the French who get betrayed by feckless German politicos and join a movement to take back their country. Call it “Their Struggle” or something.

I just watched your review of Range 15 (no I didn't watch Range 15) and its true that movies of this genre is a direct reflection of the post-9/11 hyper militaristic SEAL heroism that operators can't do no wrong. I have a coworker that watches 13 Hours on the regular and wants to talk about it as if it's historical fact.

God, I unfortunately saw this movie. It practically is propaganda. My dad watched it, then told me and my brother to watch it all the way through to see why Hillary is such an awful person/war criminal because she was Secretary of Defense while this happened. I had no idea this movie bombed or was seen as something so strange until I started hearing this podcast. Dear lord.

Sam Bradley weird, the message I got from the movie was that they Hillary is vindicated by the awful geopolitical atmosphere due to consequences of our terrible policies in the Middle East.. wasn’t explicit in the movie but I look at propaganda how they don’t want us to see it

I’m so glad Matt mentioned the “chessboard” shot. I remember the first time I saw the trailer, that was the moment where my eyes rolled back into my head from cringe. I can’t stand Michael Bay’s subtle as a sledgehammer bullshit. He’s like a child, but not in like a “magical” Spielbergian way, more like a sixth-grade macho bully who got ahold of a bunch of illegal fireworks.

How dare u say that sir. Chris Tonto Paronto is an American Hero and he advised on this film. And it all happened exactly how he said and he single handedly rescued everybody and defeated ISIS in the same night and only a traitor would say it didnt. The only reason ISIS came back was because Obama wouldnt let him go back over. Thanks alot Obama. Benghazi!!! Never Forget!!!!!!!

As a little aside you don't "leave your gun in the car". That is the number one way guns are stolen. What you really don't do - I mean DO NOT DO - is carry while your drunk. That piece of shit should have never had left the house with any gun if he was going to be drinking. It really speaks to the stupidity and irresponsibility of some people.

I was actually impressed with how watchable this movie was. That Michael Bay was capable of any level of nuance or restraint. This isn't a great movie by any means, but it was tense and competently crafted, and seemed like it tried be fairly faithful to the real events. But yeah, the classic Michael Bay jock/military worship is stamped on a lot of the dialog.
