I just replaced 3 rollers and the drum belt in my dryer. It took me a couple of careful hours to disassemble, clean and repair it. I couldn't have done it without this video guide. Many thanks!
Of the four videos I watched describing the procedure.... This one stands apart as being the absolute easiest to follow and understand. I trust this guy. This is the video I'm going to play on the laptop while I do the job. Thanks to the poster, and whoever was running the video camera zooming in on the fasteners. I can't imagine anything more helpful on the planet.
Thank you SO much for your video! I was able to replace all 4 rollers, the actuator, and the belt on my LG dryer because of YOU! I never would have attempted such an in-depth repair if it wasn’t for your thorough and easy-to-follow instructions. My family is amazed, and I am too! Thanks again!
Steve. Our 2007 LG dryer is purring like a kitten. Your clear and thorough instructions allowed us to replace all four wheels as well as the belt, and we had an opportunity to clean and vacuum inside the cavity. When we took the drum out, I thought to myself there’s no way this thing is going back in but with a little patience and your direct instruction we did it. Thank you so much.
Thanks for these amazing instructions. I successfully replaced my 4 wheels and belt. The part I was most worried about, reconnecting the belt, ended up being super easy thanks to your instructions. Thank you!
Instructions were super detailed and accurate - having bought an aftermarket kit online from Amazon for ~ $30, originally was only going to replace the (outer) roller that was bound up with what looks like my wife's hair, then while I was at it, ended up replacing all the other three rollers, the idler, and the belt and vacuumed out the inside, which unbeknownst to me was totally caked in lint - now the dryer is essentially like new - Thanks again.
Seriously...Steve you are the best. The only reason I even attempt doing this kind of work is because of your extremely well documented videos. Thank you....thank you....thank you.
Years later this is still the very best instructional video for this job. I can’t recommend it enough. If you landed here in search of help, you don’t need to look any further.
This is an incredible training video. Organized, easy-to-follow, simple to understand, well-produced. The trainer is absolutely a gift as a teacher - he makes it sound and look simple and clearly explains each step and what to look for and look out for. He takes it apart and puts it back together - and that is important as well. Often the process of putting something back together again and not missing anything is harder still. Thanks for a great video. Great job, Partelect (who I also use a lot - great support, parts, prices).
THANK YOU to STEVE & to PARTS SELECT for posting this video & all the other videos of appliance repairs. With your instructional videos I've fixed both my LG Washer & LG Dryer completely on my own, because of your incredibly excellent "How To Fix" videos that you have posted. Your videos are by far the best TH-cam DIY videos that I have seen on the internet. Well filmed with close ups of everything, excellent explanations of each step with lots of good tips. Very good instructional videos, Steve. If you already are not doing it, you could walk right into being an Instructor at a Trade School/College. Awesome videos, Thank you for posting and allowing us homeowners to fix our own appliances & being able to save hundreds of dollars & perhaps thousands of dollars by being able to repair our own appliances. Many thanks for sharing your expertise. Please continue sharing and posting your videos!!! Thanks so much from a very happy homeowner, Len
Excellent instruction video. I ordered a kit from Amazon for less than $30-included 4 complete rollers, a belt and new tensioner. There were 2 bad rollers in the rear of the machine near the heat element unit. I changed all 4 rollers, the belt and tensioner. It took about 1 hr. - start to finish! Watched your video at each step. Thanks!!
Thank you!! My husband and I followed step by step, pausing at each step, and it was great. Found the frozen bearing and replaced all at the same time. Took about 2 hours including cleaning. Thank you!!!
I am in agreement that this is the best tutorial on this from what I have seen. I purchased a kit that included the four drum rollers pre - mounted on a new shaft with a new belt. I would also suggest a new light while you have it disassembled. I found the most difficult part getting the tabs to release on the control panel. They can be pretty stubborn. Mine is an older model. It had one screw in the interior of the cabinet that needed to be removed to remove the control panel. There were also two additional screws behind the drawer for the water reservoir. I needed to remove the drawer to access the two screws. The water tank lifts out of the drawer giving you access to the release at the bottom to remove the drawer. The two screws behind the drawer was the only difference I found between mine and the model in the video. I would also recommend taking photos at various stages of the project for the purpose of reassembly and connecting the wiring back up.
Steve - big thank you for walking me through repairing my dryer. It worked like a charm. I was so happy when I turned it on and no loud noise then shortly after it dried a load of towels quietly with laundry room door open. Really appreciated your help
Just like someone said, great video made my quote of $380 into a $32 repair. Did a lot of cleaning so hopefully will have a dryer that last another 17 years. THANK YOU.
Update, cheap amazon rollers lasted part way thru the first load. But your excellent video had me tearing the machine apart again in no time. The nylon hubs of the rear rollers split in the middle alowing the outer half and rubber to fall to the bottom of the machine. Fortunately i saved the old ones and put the best 2 back on. Back in business. Less cursing this time. Just at amazon. Again, thank you.
@@CesarGamino don't know the brand, but the hub is white plastic. The previous set on the machine had blue plastic. There is a noticeable weight difference between them. The blue is heavier.
Great instructional video and a great help to replacing the belt and rollers. Only thing missing was 15 seconds at the beginning showing the dryer on with the sound the dryer made that required this fix.
Thank you for this video. I had a seized roller in the back of my dryer. I replaced all four plus the belt. I was stuck trying to figure out how to get the belt and tensioner back in place. You provided a perfect closeup of how to route the belt around it. The rollers I ordered came with the axles completely assembled so I took the extra step to replace the units as a whole (use a 10mm and 14mm wrench to remove and replace). It is now running as quiet as the day it was new.
Well done video. Replaced the 4 rollers, belt and pulley without any trouble at all. I kept waiting for something to go wrong but with the help of this video nothing could go wrong.
Words can't explain how thankful I am for this tutorial. Very easy to follow steps. Ran into a few damaged screws along the way but with a few cuss words and $30 for parts I have a great working dryer again. Thank you 🤗
I have an LG washer and dryer and had to replace the pump, using one of Steve's videos. Now I'm doing the dryer and the rollers. Thank you SO much for these fantastic tutorials. I'll definitely be ordering parts from you.
That dryer was _exactly_ like my Kenmore Dryer model 796-8031 - except for the colour. This video really helped. It took me about 9 hours to replace the back two rollers, but 80% of the time was spent getting the astounding amount of hair and dust bunnies out with a vacuum, large and small needle-nosed pliers, a right-angle dental pick, scissors, and X-Acto knife. There was hair tightly wound around every turning part. Also a 2" deep layer of compact lint and dust in the bottom of the lint filter slot, even though we always clear the filter mesh after use. Here's a tip: Have an ice cube tray next to your work area, and when you start removing an item keep all the screws for it in a single cube compartment. The screws for the next part get a new cube. Then when you reassemble it you can easily tell which screws go to secure which part, in order, and how many it is supposed to have.
Also, I got the machine back together and I turned it on to test it. In a few seconds a bad burning smell occurred. I turned it off immediately. I did clean the heating coils and free them of dust. I had to unscrew the top of the encasement
Thanks Steve - was going to call in a repair service, but watched your video and ordered the replacement parts instead. You saved me some serious $$$! Thank you!
Thank you for this video!! I thought my 17 year old LG dryer had finally died, but thank to you, I was able to figure out it was a roller that had gone bad. It runs great now and I can wait a few more years before having to buy a new one.
Great video! Had some bad drum rollers and could not have done it without this video. Very informative step by step instructions. Was getting ready to buy a new dryer and decided to give a shot at replacing the drum rollers, pulley and belt. You saved me hundreds of dollars. Easier to do this with at least one more pair of hands which luckily I had. Thank you
My 14yo LG DLE7177WM got real loud this week. Thanks to you and this video right here I was able to buy replacement drum rollers and replaced them myself! 💪😎 Quiet as can be and working well now. Thank you so much! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (5 stars)
I found this awesome video while waiting for my parts....WATCH THIS VIDEO BEFORE YOU START...... straight forward and clear. Thanks you for your hard work
Great job on the video. I replaced the rollers, tensioner, and belt and this video made it easy from start to finish. Amazon sells the replacement parts kit for around $30.
Most excellent video! You deserve an award!! Your step by step procedure was incredible and easy to follow. Fixed my dryer easy peasy! I changed all the rollers and belt too. It took no time at all . My Compliments! This save me a bunch of money, time, and headaches! Thank You! This also gave me a bit of Wife Worship for at least a day!
Thanks again. This is the 3rd time I followed your video to fix the wheels on my dryer of 2007. Thanks to this video I may eventually have the longest running dryer in the world LOL. Thanks again
Besides the lack of using a Dollie (only caught that at the end) this was probably the greatest how to video I've used to date. Just needed to pause as I replaced the rear wheels also. I really apprioappreciate this as you saved me hundreds of dollars on a new dryer, now we can run it and not have to scream to hear each other talk.
Hi Steve! I just have to say THANK YOU for this video! I ended up replacing the front two rollers as I didn’t want to tackle the back rollers, put the dryer back together and that didn’t fix the thumping noise. So I went back to tearing the dryer down once again and I replaced the back rollers and it is now fixed! I should have just replaced all four rollers while I had it torn apart in the first place but I was intimidated by removing the drum but it actually went very smoothly thanks to your great instructions! It cost me $20 to fix. Thank you again!
It took me the most of 6 hrs starting at 9 to replace 4 drum rollers , the belt and tensioner and clean out twelve years of lint that escaped the filter. It started making a rhythmic thumping . One of the front drum rollers got a sticky axel and quit turning completely and wore a flat spot in the wheel. Every once in a while it would start spinning again and thump thump thump. Eventually the belt would have snapped. It was the sight of all the lint inside the machine that surprised me the most. The floor had a strong 1/2" of furr inside. Thanks for the clear helpful videos. I'm pretty happy with the quality of this brand.
Thanks for the video. I needed to change my gas orfice, which is right behind the front cover. Your video showed me how to remove the top and front cover better that anyone else. Thanks.
great video. Bought a roller kit off amazon. Replaced all rollers, belt and spring roller in less than 2 hrs. It's much simpler replacing the whole roller assembly than just the roller. Use a 10mm wrench to hold the front and remove the rear 9/16 nut. The video should've shown that to access the rear rollers for complete removal, it's just remove the rear few screws holding in that plate on the back wall.
Directions were so simple even I could do the job. Turns out one of the back wheels had fallen off but I figured out how to get ‘er done with your help. Thanks Steve Bell
I followed the video step by step and the video was perfect for changing out the support rollers and drum belt on our LG dryer. Really appreciate the perfect narrative.
Love your very straightforward approach to the video. Got my rollers in today and while I had to do just a little bit more to replace them due to them not being just plug and play (Had to unbolt them and put in new roller support bolts) I was able to get it done 2 hours after getting the parts in! Thanks!
VERY GOOD video Steve. I changed out the rollers in my LG and your video made it SO SO EASY. In addition, he shows you how to put it all together again so yo don't have to go back in the video and figure it out. Thanks again!!!
Great Video! I referenced this video several years ago to replace a roller and the belt and was glad to see that is was still around. This time I replaced all of the rollers. New rollers came with axl, washer and bolt so there was no need to fumble with the retaining clips. Even found a missing screw from the last time
Great step by step video. Have used it 2x. My recommendation is to replace all 4 wheels. I made the mistake of replacing only the one bad one, only to redo the entire thing again when a second one failed a year later. Decided this time to replace all 4 keeping the 1YO part as a spare.
Thanks so much for posting this - I was able to replace all the rollers, the idler pulley and belt, saving a bunch of money on a service call! I’m sure that it saved me hundreds of $’s! Very through, step by step which makes it easy to reverse the steps and put it all back together.
Thank you, for this great video - they have changed the rollers to a different design, now the roller and pin are one unit, so you don't have to take the roller off, just replace the whole pin and roller with - was easier as I did not have to fidget with the tri-angle ring. This video was a tremendous help, especially for the belt part.
Thank you so much for this video! I ordered the repair kit for $28 total off of Amazon, but turns out that I don’t need it……at least for now. I have the LG DLGX7188WM Steam Dryer. After watching your video, I was able to completely take mine apart, only to discover that the wheels were still in good shape. Since it was taken apart, I vacuumed out the entire inside of it. It’s amazing how dirty and full of lint it was. It turns out that with my dryer, somehow an ankle sock got sucked into the squirrel cage blower and half of the sock was in and half outside of the blower inside of the dryer. When the squirrel cage blower would rotate, with the sock half in and half out around the edge, the sock was going in between the wheel and the dryer drum making what is almost an identical sound as a bad wheel(s) with the bearings having failed. The sock was creating a “speed bump” that was causing all of the racket like a failed bearing(s). I simply removed the sock, cleaned everything, reassembled it and the problem was resolved. As far as disassembling the dryer, with the steam version, you do not have to remove the plastic steam unit on top of the dryer. My dryer is in a VERY small cramped space and I was still able to remove the drum without having to move the dryer out at all. I didn’t even have to remove the two screws behind the door in order to remove that entire front door/fascia panel from the dryer. The only moving I had to do was to slide the dryer out about 6” further from the back wall in order to remove the first three screws which hold the top panel of the dryer on. From start to finish which included cleaning the dryer was about two hours. Maybe a bit longer, but not much. This, in a cramped confined area as well. For anyone that is going to attempt this, it is actually a pretty easy job to do. What I did to make reassembling everything easier, was to mark each screw hole with a sharpie so that you immediately see which hole had a screw, because there are multiple holes. In addition, tape each screw to the portion of the section that you removed it from as you disassemble each part. While most of the screws are the same size, this will guarantee that you have the correct screw for the hole that it came out of. There is another disassembly video of the steam unit dryer on TH-cam, but the gentleman disassembles way more parts than need be. Such as the steam unit and using wrenches to take off the wheel units from the front and back. No need to remove the dryer door from the front fascia either. No wrenches are needed at all. As the gentleman in this video shows, it’s the triangle retaining clips that hold the wheels on, should you need to replace them; no wrenches needed. This video is invaluable for repairing this dryer. In fact, it shows that once you disassemble it, you now have access to replace anything else that may have gone out. Once the drum is removed, there is a lot of room to work inside of the dryer. There actually are not too many parts. I am glad that I was able to clean the motor, because it was covered in lint. Thank you so much for this video, Sir! Cheers, from Texas
Absolutely incredible video! I have an older DLE5977w, other than a couple design changes on brackets, this worked perfect. Thank you for changing what most likely would have been a couple hundred dollar repair into a $30 repair! Instructions were very clear and concise.
This video was awesome in all ways. Why can't more how to videos be like this. Had a slightly different dryer but gave all the information I needed to fix my dryer fairly easily. Thank you!
Nothing I could say that hasn't been said already but THANK YOU! So easy with your instructions and seeing the belt process from inside really was a wonderful touch. Made the process so easy. Thanks again!
Great Video, I have a LG Tromm dryer and watched this video and it helped me replaced all 4 wheels , belt , tension wheel and springs. I highly recommend this video to anyone who has a LG front load dryer who needs to replace there broken dryer,,, Bob D from Oregon.
Very helpful video. I followed your instructions and my LG TROMM Dryer is now fully functional like I had purchased new one in 2008. The only thing I did different is that, I changed the Rollers completly with the shaft since my rollers came like that and also for the back rollers I just detached the entire panel from the back wall other then that the video made my life easy and saved me big money from buying a new Dryer. I ordered the parts from Amazon in a bundle of 4 Rollers, 1 Idler pulley and Belt cost me around $39.00. Thanks for good Karma and helping people.
This was the first machine repair I did as a new homeowner and this video made it a piece of cake. Thank you for the extremely helpful content! I saved a couple hundred dollars and was rewarded with a huge sense of satisfaction.
Steve, you are an Ace. Although my LG Dryer is different in someway because of the steam feature, your very clear video provided me with 90% of what I needed to know. Thank you.
This video helped me out so much!! I was able to fix my dryer for only $25 to replace the wheels. Amazing video SO helpful!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Very well explained, saved me a lot of time taking off the wrong screws and helped in remembering how to put the belt back on. So easy to get that wrong when it's under the drum and your feeling your way. Great video. Thank you.
I just want to thank you so much for sharing this video! You were so helpful! This is the 3rd time the rollers have been replaced in the last 4 years. The first 2 times were by appliance service people at $250 to $300 each time. They were much faster than i was, but i also changed out the bearing bolts that hold the rear rollers. That part wasn't included in your video but you made the other stuff seem simple enough that i thought i could figure it out. Success! Those back bearing bolts were very well worn and needed to be replaced. All of the new rollers came with them so they all got swapped out. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never even heard you curse in the video so i made up for you.
Could not have been able to change my rollers without this video. Detailed step by step instructions were persise and easy to follow. Also a great way to do some handy work yourself and save some money
After watching the video I posted a comment that it was a great video well I take that back . Its about the BEST!!!!! video on how to fix this dryer on you tube thanks so much for saving me hundreds to get it fixed you are awesome dude!!!🙏
Thank you so much for posting this video. You saved me so much money and I can't believe I have managed to fix my dryer. Your step by step guide made it so easy to follow and without that I know I would not have had the first clue how to do it. Again, thank you so much!
Great video. My dryer had to be done absolutely in place without being moved an inch. And, it took a 9 pound sledge to get the top off. That said reaching the screws top to back blind was a challenge. Tip: As I'm prone to drop tools to unreachable places in awkward situations like this, I placed an eyeglass strap on the shorty Phillips and other end around my wrist. Thanks... without this video I'd have never found those screws.
I can’t thank you enough for such clear, concise and easy to follow instructions! I was able to get this done in just under an hour and a half. Saved me a ton of money on repair costs 😊
Excellent instructional video. I was able to replace 4 rollers, belt tensioner and belt. Took this amateur dryer repairman only 2 hours! 😂🤣 I also maticulously vacuumed the innerds.
Such a great video! You sir, are great at these tutorials! Thanks to you and this video I replaced all rollers, one roller peg, the entire spring and spring/lever, belt, and got our dryer working great again! My wife thinks I’m pretty hot right now, thanks to you 😂 Thank you!
I had a constant grrrrrr. ing sound from my Dryer, not a thumping. I took it apart using this video and a few others and found that there was simply a fabric softner sheet that somehow had gotten sucked into the impeller and was spinning with and against it. I didn't need to change the wheels, but thank for the help in getting all of it apart to diagnose it!
Great video tutorial! Had a friend help take it off the washer and stuck around for a second hand. The unit has to be around 10 years old and we've never done anything besides the lint trap. The amount of stuff cleaned out there, holy dog fur. The house should have burned down. Also cleaned out the vent hose. Thank you Steve
Great video!! Easy to follow and thanks so much. Only thing else I could have asked was how to remove the bolts that keep's the wheels in place. My kit came with all new wheels and bolts, so I decided to replace everything. Once again, thanks so much !!
Thanks you for your video. It was great from start to finish, very helpful. Don’t know how you stay so neat and fresh throughout the process. I was a sweaty mess (😀)but got the job done with your assistant!
This is a very well done video. I appreciate that you demonstrated each step. It made it easier to reassemble the unit when I had to put everything back together.
Dude, this guy's tutorial is amazing. Worked perfectly on a newer LG model.

Thanks you for your hard work
Very impressed with the pro step by step with details, this guy is amazing.
Great video! Those shots of the idler pulley while putting the belt on and taking it off were awesome.
not only very knowledgeable, but has a great demeanor. Thank you
This guy is outstanding so grateful for these videos
I used this video 18 months ago and then again today. Very thankful for the walk through!
Glad it helped!
Thanks, this video was a lifesaver. All parts costed around 35 from Amazon. 2hour job. Saved us mucho bucks!
Thanks
Steve Bell
I followed the video step by step and the video was perfect for changing out the support rollers and drum belt on our LG dryer. Really appreciate the perfect narrative.
We're glad it was helpful!

Excellent video! The multiple views, especially how to reattach the belt were appreciated. Your skills are evident sir, thank you!
You helped me fix my noisy LG dryer yesterday. I really appreciate you!
Thank you ! I just repair my dryer! ❤
Thank you!
Replaced all 4 rollers after watching this. Made my first time a lot easier and save me a good chunk of change. Thank you!
Nothing I could say that hasn't been said already but THANK YOU! So easy with your instructions and seeing the belt process from inside really was a wonderful touch. Made the process so easy. Thanks again!
You're welcome!
Great Video, I have a LG Tromm dryer and watched this video and it helped me replaced all 4 wheels , belt , tension wheel and springs. I highly recommend this video to anyone who has a LG front load dryer who needs to replace there broken dryer,,, Bob D from Oregon.
Probably one of the best how to fix anything videos I've ever seen! Thank you very much!!
Got the kit and replaced rollers, pulley, and springs. Your video made it way easier. Thank you!
Glad it was able to help!
I just want to thank you. I ordered the rollers and belt and followed your instructions. This video is really well done.
I would have been ripped off "Big Time" had a not viewed your video. Your work is invaluable. Thanks!
Your video is great. I just finished replacing all 4 rollers on my LG dryer and is was so easy. Now it runs like new!
I can’t thank you enough for such clear, concise and easy to follow instructions! I was able to get this done in just under an hour and a half. Saved me a ton of money on repair costs 😊
Thank you. This was the smartest how to video I've ever watched. It was incredibly helpful, and I'm grateful to you for making it.
Excellent instructional video. I was able to replace 4 rollers, belt tensioner and belt. Took this amateur dryer repairman only 2 hours! 😂🤣 I also maticulously vacuumed the innerds.
Best 21:38 minutes ever spent!
Such a great video! You sir, are great at these tutorials! Thanks to you and this video I replaced all rollers, one roller peg, the entire spring and spring/lever, belt, and got our dryer working great again! My wife thinks I’m pretty hot right now, thanks to you 😂 Thank you!
A true professional, covered every aspect.
You’re awesome.
Bravo! I followed his direction step by step now everything works perfectly. Outstanding video. Thank you…
Great video tutorial!
Excellent video. First timer took me a couple hours to replace all 4. Thanks so much!
Great video! Clear, concise, and detailed in what needed to be done and in which order. Very very helpful. Thank you!
Thanks you for your video. It was great from start to finish, very helpful. Don’t know how you stay so neat and fresh throughout the process. I was a sweaty mess (😀)but got the job done with your assistant!
Excellent video. Helped me in fixing my stuck LG dryer drum. Well done sir! Thank you.
This is a very well done video. I appreciate that you demonstrated each step. It made it easier to reassemble the unit when I had to put everything back together.
This may be the best guide on the internet-thank you.
