It is encouraging to know that there others out there that suffer the same bad habits! One suggestion; when you pan around the room, slow it down......it can make some people a bit motion-sick! Would love to see a part 2. I have declutter my craft room a few months ago and am now ready to let go of even more. And your so right about f.o.m.o. I have started thinking twice before I purchase any more stuff for crafting. I stopped watching hauls from dt and only go twice a month and think hard before I purchase anything. Even the grandchildren haven't been asking to dt. Honestly I have more than enough to last a life time. So when I went to hobby lobby I thought long and hard before I put it in my cart. So if I see something and don't know what I could use it for I put it back. I have spent so much money on stuff I haven't used for years so like you I am donating. So far I got rid of 2 very large boxes and a few smaller ones and that felt great, so now I'm in search of a few large cabinets so I can clean up and declutter again... 1 final time. It's money gone so I'm not beating myself up for it but I'm thinking twice before I get anything. I plan on crafting my stash for quite a while so I don't see any shopping day in the future. Well at least 6 months... my all time favorite store is hobby lobby so I have limited my self to a once a month visit, but I have to absolutely need something before I go. If there is nothing I need I won't go. I do like getting inspired by what I see in the stores, whats in and what's out. Well that's enough of me running off with the key board. Congratulations! Decluttering is an ongoing process and I found that I valued the newfound space more than the item I’ve decluttered, so then I wanted more space. There is an airiness and lightness with all of that space. And then things that you could not let go of in the first round, you have an easier time letting go the second time. And then, the third time, you were like “why do I still have this?” It becomes easier and easier to let things go. Good luck, enjoy the process. It is so worth it! Happy New Year!
I’m biting the bullet…I bought a DREAMBOX and it will 😊be delivered after the holidays. I’m hoping the clear storage will help me get organized. I tend to overbuy and it is wasteful as well. Then I plan to have a couple of bins for “backstock” (wood blanks, etc.). I already have seasonal bins for completed crafts and decor I am also doing a purge to donate as well.😊🤞👏 great 👍 job Kristin 😊

I decluttered my craft items a few months ago. Yes, I was sad I spent money on things I never used but I donated all of it so someone else could enjoy it. I minimalized all my craft stuff. I would love to see a craft room organization video. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🤶

We are crafting sisters!! After glancing over some of the other comments, we have a lot of company!!! My room looked just like yours and could hardly walk in my craft room and the spare room across from it because I had so much all over the floor. Now that Holiday crafting is over I have done a lot in both rooms. I have decluttered and now am going through each drawer and organizing it. I am just about 100% done and IT FEELS SO GOOD!!! So many things I forgot I had and yes I am done with FOMO.
Tammy, may I ask how you choose to organize your crafting supply n stash please? I desperately need to do it but not sure if I should do it by holiday/seasons or by material. Any thoughts n experience is greatly appreciated!
@@SouthernCharmaine I do have things in totes by holidays. I figured when its time to make them then its all in one place. In my craft room the rest of the things are by type, wood things together, plates, all DT type things. I have a TON of ribbon and all that is in a chest of drawers. You can put ribbon a few rolls deep behind each other. I have those white cubbies that are open and also the white drawers and like items in them. I hope this helps you. I am happy for you. If this makes you happy that's all that matters. I am a hoarder as far as crafts. I have two bedrooms piled from floor to ceiling with my crafts. I also have about 32 huge bins in my basement with all my holiday items I have made and items I will use. All my beads, glitter, little wood items and such all organized and know where everything is. My crafts come from DT, General Dollar, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and a place called Skeleton Key which is all donated crafts they are given and sold and then the money is donated to area agencies. I do have everything labeled so that really helps me. I am also a quilter so that is a huge area itself. My daughter-in-law and her family are crafters so there is always a place where the things I buy can be used. I have been crafting since I was 7 years old and never tire of it. Thanks for the inspiration you provide and the great tutorials. Merry Christmas and a blessed new year to you and your family. Two of my grandsons went to college this year and I was able to give them everything they wanted to use for the holidays. I have several thousand yards of fabric all sorted by color and holidays. My son built a wall in my one room to house all my fabric so it is neat and tidy. After I finish a project I have to clean everything up. My children are grown and so I don't have to care for them.
We are all different when it comes to owning items. I don’t put anyone to shame having a ton of items. For myself I work better and have a better creative mind when I have less to work with. I still have a TON of items but less to work around. 😊

Right now I’m having a hard time with motivation for anything. But I can’t even walk in there or find stuff to make things. I’m trying to figure out where I’m putting the stuff I diy. My craft room is always clean, only because I can’t think when it’s messy and there are piles everywhere. I’m not judging anyone if you’re the opposite - that’s how God made us! Different, but the same! Anyway, whilst watching, I realized I need more storage ideas for my florals and other tall signs that are leaning against the wall in a corner. And then I remembered that I have some cubbies in another room that I can utilize better in my craft room! All that to say, another idea for a video could be to figure out storage ideas, without spending money! Use what you have, maybe repurpose different pieces of furniture for storage, move pieces from different rooms to work harder in your craft room, etc. Loved watching the decluttering process!! Would love to see an organization video, too! ❤❤
The rest of my house is always clean and organized and I take more time with every other room in my house. My craft room definitely needs to be more of a priority like every other room in my home. I can not think either when it’s so messy.
Great job. I have a junk room that I want to convert to a crafts room. Right now it scares me to think about attacking it. I have been trying to jot down what I mainly want to focus on - like essential oils, sewing, wood crafts, etc. I know once I do it, I will be much happier. It is just getting the motivation to start.
Omgoodness! I just told my husband the other day that I am going to do the same thing after the holidays. My room has grown into 2 rooms, not to mention the totes of decor in the garage. I done a craft show in October and made some nice money so I’m definitely going to be going back in the Spring! But in the meantime, I’m purging everything I’ve had in bins for a year and maybe even 6 months! I’m like you and done with FOMO! 😊
Okay - challenge accepted! I have an awesome craft area, but can't use it because of the clutter. I am going to set a day on the calendar after the holidays to declutter my area. I'm sure it will take me more than 3-4 hours, but I REALLY want the satisfaction of having an area to work in again! Thank you for the motivation!
Decluttering feels so good! I’ve had to do it A LOT in the past two years. We moved from GA to FL and my craft stuff, alone, took up an entire 26’ moving truck. I kid you not!! It was embarrassing. I also refocused my crafting to realize that a lot of DT stuff really is crap and isn’t worth reusing (like the cardboard signs) I saved a few wood items but literally donated the rest of my DT stash. I prefer to use real wood for my projects now. I also have a laser cutter, actually I have 2 now, and I can make my own wood signs so I have no need to buy them now. I got rid of a trash bag of ribbon. I took 2’ off of each spool and donated the rest. I’m never going to use a whole spool. I despise DT mesh and would rather spend the money for better quality stuff so it all went. And anything I made from DT items got tossed as most of it fell apart from being stored in the hot attic. ❤ I should add that we also moved from a 6,000 sq Ft house to a 1300 sq Ft house so decluttering EVERYTHING was a must. It’s humbling. We plan on building a slightly larger home on our land and I will get my own Craft Cottage but for now, it’s nice to have a clean craft space all the time because I don’t have as much crap cluttering it up! ❤
I am glad I am not the only one who does this and I just say oh well and get rid of it just so I can have a peace of mind. I believe Oprah said a long time ago if you put something in your attic, basement, garage that you probably won't use it anymore unless it is seasonal decor. I live by that and get rid of stuff. Your craft room looks good and I would love to see a part 2!
It looks so good! But may I suggest getting a 5-6’ plastic folding table for the middle of the room or in front of the window. Then you won’t have to sit on the floor and you will have a nice surface to work from.

You are reality in my world because I do things just like you....I have multiple projects I'm doing at the same time and my floor is chaos!!! I have 3 desk in my craft room so I need to just have one desk to work on. I have the other desk for storage on top and underneath....but things find themselves on my floor....its crazy! Soooo please me with your organizational skills!!!!😉👍! Oh and before I forget you did a video on wood slices or some wood ornaments you made and you ordered Christmas things from amazom to put on them. I thought I saved that video but I can't find it. I had some shelves with my crafting stuff and I finally had to go through all of it. My grandbabies always liked to come do crafts and still do but r growing up so have other things they r involved in now. If I need something I'll just purchase a smaller amount and not accumulate more. U did great and it looks nice! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for being real! I am at the point of closing the door and dealing with it later. I will be selling, donating or throwing away much of what I don’t use. There is not enough hours in the day to make all of the projects. I completely agree with you about the FOMO. It is OK, if we don’t buy all the things. Great job of decluttering I just did the same thing and took all Christmas craft supplies out to the garage where I store everything in a huge clear bin with rollers. I was so excited I can see my craft room floor again Have a wonderful holiday

EXACTLY. I bought so much stuff that I was planning on selling in a booth and online. Reality has set in and I am purging. I’m making one and done and moving on unless I am making gifts 😊. That’s the plan anyway 😊

Very inspiring watching you do this. I've always wondered how diy TH-camrs keep their homes clean with all the hauls they do and stuff they create. 😂😂😂. Having yard sales and donating is a good idea. (I wasn't sure if they had Etsy stores, or sold their creations on Facebook marketplace). It does get stressful when there is too much stuff. Definitely agree with and so over FOMO with new items at DT. I started to feel that way about a year ago. There is only so much you can make, sell, decorate, etc. Tysmfs! (Yes, to part 2)!
It’s a lot. A crafting channel is hard because we eventually accumulate so much stuff. When I started my TH-cam channel I had a Amazon cardboard box that was it and I bought things and used those items up first I also had glue and paint in that box too. I kind of miss that and at the same time I’m glad I have just a “little bit” more 😉

When you start small I think it is easier to stay organized. Then when you have an extra space or room it’s too easy to just close the door 🚪 😂

I would love to see an organization video. I have a whole room and no place to put things, so I dig thru boxes to craft.
We are crafting sisters!! After glancing over some of the other comments, we have a lot of company!!! My room looked just like yours and could hardly walk in my craft room and the spare room across from it because I had so much all over the floor.
Now that Holiday crafting is over I have done a lot in both rooms. I have decluttered and now am going through each drawer and organizing it. I am just about 100% done and IT FEELS SO GOOD!!! So many things I forgot I had and yes I am done with FOMO.
Tammy, may I ask how you choose to organize your crafting supply n stash please? I desperately need to do it but not sure if I should do it by holiday/seasons or by material. Any thoughts n experience is greatly appreciated!
@@SouthernCharmaine I do have things in totes by holidays. I figured when its time to make them then its all in one place.
In my craft room the rest of the things are by type, wood things together, plates, all DT type things. I have a TON of ribbon and all that is in a chest of drawers. You can put ribbon a few rolls deep behind each other.
I have those white cubbies that are open and also the white drawers and like items in them.

Great job honey. My craft room is also a disaster. I just got a whole craft room full of items from an estate sale. I have gone thru everything but I am having family Christmas party today so it is all crammed into my room. I needed to se this. Can't wait to get in there to organize and declutter. I am happy for you. If this makes you happy that's all that matters. I am a hoarder as far as crafts. I have two bedrooms piled from floor to ceiling with my crafts. I also have about 32 huge bins in my basement with all my holiday items I have made and items I will use. All my beads, glitter, little wood items and such all organized and know where everything is. My crafts come from DT, General Dollar, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and a place called Skeleton Key which is all donated crafts they are given and sold and then the money is donated to area agencies. I do have everything labeled so that really helps me. I am also a quilter so that is a huge area itself. My daughter-in-law and her family are crafters so there is always a place where the things I buy can be used. I have been crafting since I was 7 years old and never tire of it. Thanks for the inspiration you provide and the great tutorials. Merry Christmas and a blessed new year to you and your family. Two of my grandsons went to college this year and I was able to give them everything they wanted to use for the holidays. I have several thousand yards of fabric all sorted by color and holidays. My son built a wall in my one room to house all my fabric so it is neat and tidy. After I finish a project I have to clean everything up. My children are grown and so I don't have to care for them.
We are all different when it comes to owning items. I don’t put anyone to shame having a ton of items. For myself I work better and have a better creative mind when I have less to work with. I still have a TON of items but less to work around. 😊

Hello Kristen my craft room is little smaller than yours but it’s a craft/ food room and it was a mess so I cleaned it and it felt so good got rid of things I don’t used . Definitely want to see a part two!! My craft room looks worse than yours when you started. I have that same feeling of having to buy it so I don’t miss out. Right now I’m having a hard time with motivation for anything. But I can’t even walk in there or find stuff to make things. I’m trying to figure out where I’m putting the stuff I diy. My craft room is always clean, only because I can’t think when it’s messy and there are piles everywhere. I’m not judging anyone if you’re the opposite - that’s how God made us! Different, but the same! Anyway, whilst watching, I realized I need more storage ideas for my florals and other tall signs that are leaning against the wall in a corner. And then I remembered that I have some cubbies in another room that I can utilize better in my craft room! All that to say, another idea for a video could be to figure out storage ideas, without spending money! Use what you have, maybe repurpose different pieces of furniture for storage, move pieces from different rooms to work harder in your craft room, etc. Loved watching the decluttering process!! Would love to see an organization video, too! ❤❤
The rest of my house is always clean and organized and I take more time with every other room in my house. My craft room definitely needs to be more of a priority like every other room in my home. I can not think either when it’s so messy.
Great job. I have a junk room that I want to convert to a crafts room. Right now it scares me to think about attacking it. I have been trying to jot down what I mainly want to focus on - like essential oils, sewing, wood crafts, etc. I know once I do it, I will be much happier. It is just getting the motivation to start.
It will be fun to watch the organization because I seem to do and redo mine all the time! It’s getting better but wow, I get so overwhelmed!

Omgoodness! I just told my husband the other day that I am going to do the same thing after the holidays. My room has grown into 2 rooms, not to mention the totes of decor in the garage. I done a craft show in October and made some nice money so I’m definitely going to be going back in the Spring! But in the meantime, I’m purging everything I’ve had in bins for a year and maybe even 6 months! I’m like you and done with FOMO! 😊

Okay - challenge accepted! I have an awesome craft area, but can't use it because of the clutter. I am going to set a day on the calendar after the holidays to declutter my area. I'm sure it will take me more than 3-4 hours, but I REALLY want the satisfaction of having an area to work in again! Thank you for the motivation!

Decluttering feels so good! I’ve had to do it A LOT in the past two years. We moved from GA to FL and my craft stuff, alone, took up an entire 26’ moving truck. I kid you not!! It was embarrassing. I also refocused my crafting to realize that a lot of DT stuff really is crap and isn’t worth reusing (like the cardboard signs) I saved a few wood items but literally donated the rest of my DT stash. I prefer to use real wood for my projects now. I also have a laser cutter, actually I have 2 now, and I can make my own wood signs so I have no need to buy them now. I got rid of a trash bag of ribbon. I took 2’ off of each spool and donated the rest. I’m never going to use a whole spool. I despise DT mesh and would rather spend the money for better quality stuff so it all went. And anything I made from DT items got tossed as most of it fell apart from being stored in the hot attic. ❤ I should add that we also moved from a 6,000 sq Ft house to a 1300 sq Ft house so decluttering EVERYTHING was a must. It’s humbling. We plan on building a slightly larger home on our land and I will get my own Craft Cottage but for now, it’s nice to have a clean craft space all the time because I don’t have as much crap cluttering it up! ❤

I am glad I am not the only one who does this and I just say oh well and get rid of it just so I can have a peace of mind. I believe Oprah said a long time ago if you put something in your attic, basement, garage that you probably won't use it anymore unless it is seasonal decor. I live by that and get rid of stuff. Your craft room looks good and I would love to see a part 2!
I absolutely agree with that. It’s not going to get used more sitting around in a closet or garage
It looks so good! But may I suggest getting a 5-6’ plastic folding table for the middle of the room or in front of the window. Then you won’t have to sit on the floor and you will have a nice surface to work from.

You are reality in my world because I do things just like you....I have multiple projects I'm doing at the same time and my floor is chaos!!! I have 3 desk in my craft room so I need to just have one desk to work on. I have the other desk for storage on top and underneath....but things find themselves on my floor....its crazy! Soooo please me with your organizational skills!!!!😉👍!

I had some shelves with my crafting stuff and I finally had to go through all of it. My grandbabies always liked to come do crafts and still do but r growing up so have other things they r involved in now. If I need something I'll just purchase a smaller amount and not accumulate more. U did great and it looks nice! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for being real! I am at the point of closing the door and dealing with it later. I will be selling, donating or throwing away much of what I don’t use. There is not enough hours in the day to make all of the projects. I completely agree with you about the FOMO. It is OK, if we don’t buy all the things. I would love to see an organizing video from you.
Great job of decluttering I just did the same thing and took all Christmas craft supplies out to the garage where I store everything in a huge clear bin with rollers. I was so excited I can see my craft room floor again Have a wonderful holiday

EXACTLY. I bought so much stuff that I was planning on selling in a booth and online. Reality has set in and I am purging. I’m making one and done and moving on unless I am making gifts 😊. That’s the plan anyway 😊

Hiiii...that is exactly how my craft room looks like...I am off for 1 week in Jan and that is my mission clean and organize the craft room...I like that idea of having a basket with the pieces that i need to make for the next project!!!

Very inspiring watching you do this. I've always wondered how diy TH-camrs keep their homes clean with all the hauls they do and stuff they create. 😂😂😂. Having yard sales and donating is a good idea. (I wasn't sure if they had Etsy stores, or sold their creations on Facebook marketplace). It does get stressful when there is too much stuff. Definitely agree with and so over FOMO with new items at DT. I started to feel that way about a year ago. There is only so much you can make, sell, decorate, etc. Tysmfs! (Yes, to part 2)!
It’s a lot. A crafting channel is hard because we eventually accumulate so much stuff. When I started my TH-cam channel I had a Amazon cardboard box that was it and I bought things and used those items up first I also had glue and paint in that box too. I kind of miss that and at the same time I’m glad I have just a “little bit” more 😉
