Riyoko Takagi will release a new album,
called ”Celebrity Standards” on Nov.24th.
The album will be released from Steelpan Records, distributed by Disk Union.
Riyoko recorded the album with her acoustic jazz trio regular members (Takumi Katsuya on Bass and Youichiro Yamanouchi on Drums).
11 songs, including her original compositions, arrangements of jazz standards, and hit songs by “celebrity,” show her versatile piano skills and interplay.

Well, obviously more at 2/4 than at 5/4, from which at latter I am not that bad too.
I just listened to the famous original, it contains much more of the 5/4 than this lovely house cover.

There are many fun versions of Take Five out there. My favorites are the Brubeck band versions but there is a version on Indian instruments that I also really like.

This is ridiculously good! Taking a 5:4 jazz classic, and turning it into a 4 on the floor 90s house arrangement is a bold move indeed - well executed, bravo Riyoko! Love those 90s House chords! Would love to see her play live, hope she comes to the U. S. on tour…

ほー。テイク5を4拍子に乗せたのかー、と単純に考えてたら、それだけじゃなく、4と5のポリリズムのところもあって、謎解きが楽しいアレンジです。
The original song is barely recognizable in this tour de force performance. But that's fine because she has made it something new, original and personal, not just a cover. A truly awesome version.
