I don't know if other Europeans find this weird, but I find it weird when Americans visit 18249472 European countries in the same visit. Isn't it stressful?
They think they'll make "the most of it", but in my opinion end up rushing through places. Even if I go halfway around the world I prefer taking my time and getting to know the places as well as possible. But I guess it's a different mindset. A lot of East Asian and Australian/Kiwi tourist do the same thing.
Joan Marco it may have been the contiki program. They are sometimes set up as "touristy" as possible and just try to take people as many different places as possible
You cannot taste the 3 thousand years of history in 2 weeks... And as most of the Americans are so poorly aducated about the culture- they think Europe is just Big Ben, Eiffel tower and Colloseum.
I don't know about aducated, but I recognize snarky. ;-)
Americans have a lot shorter holidays than Europeans generally, thats why they have to "do Europe in 10 days" l live in Finland and I have around 6 weeks annual leave, plus the public holidays.

If you're into wilderness and national parks-Zion, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc.-it's not possible to set you sights too high. :-)

Hi Y'all .. I'm an American (Bay Area-born, Californian) who's lived in Paris for more than 20 years and -while I'm not a big defender of chain restaurants- I can tell you that some the worst coffee I've ever had, I've had right here in the beautiful 'City of Lights'. It's hit-or-miss. Sometimes you'll get (just) OK coffee, other times, freaking BATTERY ACID for which the barrista will tell you, "add some sugar"(Good coffee shouldn't *need* sugar to make it taste good). This is not the case everywhere in Paris, of course, but it happens often enough to make the consistency of Starbucks quality attractive. Mind you, my coffee drinking experience -and therefore, my comparison- comes from coffeehouses in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles, etc. Therefore, I have no problem with Starbucks as far as *taste* goes; it's just the PRICE (and hyper-yuppiness) that keeps me from being a regular customer. To those people who would stereotype my view as being from 'an American', listen; I've met many Italians who have the same view. THAT's the country where it would be a shame for someone to go to a Starbucks! But leave your criticism of this type for the imbeciles who come to Paris ... and then go to DISNEYLAND here! //added: It's true that visitors (especially those with little time) should step into a "real" Paris café . . . but they may want to try a glass or beer or wine, instead of a coffee!

Than You guys for sharing this. I will probably never get to those places you have just went to. I travel in America for I live full time in a motor-coach. The Paris trip and seeing the tower was wonderful for me. Thanks again guys!

You gotta go to Barcelona! I went to visit with my family one summer and I loved it so much I wanted to move there. Then halfway through the trip I met a boy. Then at the end of the trip I found a school. and then 6 months later I moved from Canada to Barcelona and dated that boy for 2yrs:) Now I'm home and I missed Barcelona so so so much. It's like my second home and in the future I wanna have enough money to spend October to March in Barcelona every year:):):)
I digress, and I didn't mean to write that much lol. What I meant to say was Barcelona is so fantastic that I already knew I wanted to live there by the end of the first week. And idk about you but if you life nightlife then Barcelona is absolutely crazy :D Don't make the mistake of going to any nightclub before 1:30am. They will be absolutely dead. Only place I've EVER been lost - Paris - TWICE - and both times the day I was leaving = freaking out! Like you showed - in Venice who cares if you get lost? you just turn around and find something else incredible? Great video - really great.

Joining a whirlwind tour with similar native English-speakers would not be my first choice. I can't imagine being at the Louvre and not going in! I went to U.K. for 2 weeks, went to museums, art galleries, cathedrals, attended Royal Shakespeare productions at Stratford-upon-Avon, hiked the Lake District, hitchhiked to Yorkshire, Edinburgh, castles in Wales, etc., then took a ferry to Amsterdam. In brief, I spent another 2 weeks in Netherlands and a month in Germany-Köln, Berlin, Oktoberfest in München. I got to use my limited German a lot, hitchhiking along the Rhein. Didn't get to France or Spain, because 2 months wasn't enough. I'll just have to return for another 2 months. :-) I want to hike in the Alps, see Paris, and go to Spain. I'm still working on my German and (Latin-American) Spanish. This may not be the majority-approach, but it's not that unusual. Traveling alone is not a problem. You probably meet more people, certainly more natives.
It's a good way to get out of your comfort zone a little. Remember that they hadn't travelled before. Not everyone is into hiking by the way. From this video it gets pretty obvious they wanted to see the highlights which is just fine.
Excuse me no. Nothing wrong with their choice, per se, although the point seems to be to *_stay_* in their comfort zone. The trip I describe as my preference was my first time abroad.
You guys have to go to Berlin the next time!

Took a simular 21 day trip with Rick Steve's Tours this past June ,going to the same cities and a few more. Best 3 weeks of my life. Switzerland is by far the most beautiful country in Europe . Go on a tour of Europe, you won't be sorry.

SineEros agreed, vienna for me is the most beautiful city in europe. and if you made it to munich it's not that far to the lake of constanz... one of the most beautiful places in germany. Also berlin and the baltic sea are worth a visit.
