Finding undervalued dividend stocks that also offer significant growth potential can feel like striking gold. But not all 'undervalued' stocks are true bargains. Some may be trading low for a reason-whether it's declining earnings, market sentiment, or industry shifts. While these eight picks promise both dividends and growth, smart investors should look beyond the numbers and assess the fundamentals before buying in. Is it truly a value opportunity or a potential value trap?
I feel differently unless you're trying to trade. If the company is making the money to pay the dividend and grow, it's not a value trap for long term investors.

OXY just bought more assets so their dividend isn't their top priority. They'll likely be paying off debt and focusing on growth. I've also been buying some JD. It looks pretty undervalued right now.

I’ll provide an example:
Visa (pronounced VISA) is a juggernaut, but considering the current DOJ lawsuit, I believe there will be a further drop in price. I’m looking for a 25% MOS. Truth be told, though, I don’t understand the “monopoly” aspect. I can think of 3 “legacy” competitors with ease, plus a few of the newer digital payment platforms. The current DOJ seems to be a bit excessive in their pursuits. I doubt this will be an issue if a new administration takes over, but I do sense opportunity here!
