Sadly the drone footage of me fishing on the unit was all lost. Hence the reason I had to get my stunt double to stand in! But trust me, even with my large weight on one side of the unit, it still felt stable.
I use to have a small boat but I've been jetski fishing now for a few years (over 500 hrs now). It's really great to see a company is building something for this specific market. Why would you buy this over a boat? Plenty of reasons: less cash for a completely offshore-capable fishing unit (you'd have to spend $40K plus to match the offshore range and weather/seas capability of a good jetski in any boat) ; good fuel economy and range; easy storage; I cross coastal bars with a minimum of fuss in all types of weather and swell; I can travel at high speeds to get where I want to be; I can launch it at ramps or beach very easily by myself; and I love going out by myself; It's also a challenge to me and keeps life interesting! There are positives and negatives for all types of craft, but don't knock it until you've tried it!

I haven't seen this model specifically but I wouldn't have any reason to believe it wouldn't do the same. Technically, you could go as far as you could carry fuel for. Though, maintenance and miles into it would then become a factor. Just read today about a fella from Australia who is taking "Wilson" on a trip from Aus to Indonesia where his daughter died. This guy has his Jet Ski tricked the heck out man. Like, wow. Wow. lol
@@michaelboling804 sorry for delay, but go to my TH-cam channel to see (th-cam.com/users/jetfisher) but a lot of the time I am 15 miles or more offshore. The range is around 100miles on the standard tank but I installed an aux tank that is an added 7 gallons, so another 40 miles roughly. So plenty of ragne for any fishing day trip.
I'm 6.3 and 110kg I've had a fish pro for 6 months now will support me standing on side but feet cant fit straight (90°)on in gunnels this is very stable ski and have fished with my two kids on board , this ski gets me over shallow sand bars when boats are waiting for a higher tide best decision over a boat in my area, good review + fuel economy is a big plus over a boat too cheers

@@dgnz7628 hi there it depends on conditions and speed ,if you wish to travel at speed I tend to stand and use my knees for shocks,if your cruising though the seats have great cushion and hull cuts through swell really well, sometimes notice ski can feel as if it drifts slightly sideways if you not square on to swell its a bit more noticeable than a boat, being a smaller vessel , never had a spill off it yet or a omg moment but prefer to stay dry more than wet and stupid .Worth a sea test really different at first but confidence builds with hours and trust in hulls capabilities .hope that helps
If you use this unit year round it is worth the money. We use it to pull a wakeboard & tube on the Columbia River in Washington. We are currently using it for salmon fishing in Drano Lake and Priest Rapids on the Columbia River and it haven’t let me down. Two people fit great. We just slid the cooler to the rear of the jet ski so we can stand and stretch once and a while and we switch back and forth to get a break from stearin. My son is 5’9” 160lbs I’m 5’7” 220lbs and we have never felt that the jet ski would flip in anyway. We use the fish finder mostly for depth. But it does work. I have never used a fish finder before so I’m still learning how all this works. My son and I are bank fishermen but now we are trying something new. Had to buy all new fishing gear for this! We definitely have spent more time together now that we have the fishpro! My daughter is next to learn how to fish.

Got 2020 model with two kids fishing from it and no issues what so ever. I understand what you say about it being solo, but we made it work. What totally shocked me was how easy it was to launch solo and the extra deck cannot be underestimated. Removed all the accessories and has a diving/towing platform, that alone sold me. No regrets. 170hp is plenty love it. The only surprise was length with trailer. It was 22” longer than I anticipated and made garage parking someone tricky. 182kms on one tank. WOW
You can get a 16ft tin boat with trailer, outboard, trolling motor, fish finder, live well, etc. for the price of that SeaDoo. And you could get into some pretty skinny water, and bring along a buddy.
Also, if you're paying 15-20k for a job boat, motor and trailer with a few fishing extras; you're getting ripped. You can buy a decent used fiberglass fishing boat for that price.
Yes you are correct, you could buy a boat for a lot less. My son and i use it year round & we live I Washington (PNW). So we pull wakeboard and tubes in the summer and go fishing in the fall and spring for salmon on the Columbia River. You can’t do that an aluminum boat. It’s AWSOME if you can use it year round but if you don’t then I can see its a lot of money for this unit. We got a great deal . $14,000. And are using it a hole lot. My next challenge is to figure out how to anchor down and fish for sturgeon.

I think the next big upgrade for this machine would be to add a couple inches in width or possibly a system similar to fishing kayak which extend out for even more stability and se about rework that front compartment to be used as a live well
My uncle used to have a cabin on a lake, and people would use their boats to go shopping at the general store/fuel station. I've always wondered if a PWC could be fitted with luggage racks like an ATV... Seems like this would fit the bill for quick runs to the store as well. Can you take off the cooler and have a big, flat rack on the back? :)
I’m surprised they don’t lose the extra seat and put the cooler there and make the back a casting platform with a leaning rest. That might be interesting. I could not sit down and fish well.
i did this exactly with my VX cruiser 3 seater. without a trolling motor, it’s not the same. did it work sure but by no means would i drop 20k when you can get a basic boat for 16k

its great. unlike other brands, the water does not run through the engine. but you will want to flush the impeller after every ride in salt water. it takes big waves very well
I cant see this being better than my cheap simple 14ft aluminum boat that has way more room and is an eighth of the price. No to mention almost no maintenance.
For what they are charging, I wouldn’t mind having the power of the 300 in this unit. If it did, what a machine it would be. If they somehow decide on doing so, I’ll pick up two of them!

I can't imagine going a mile down the inlet and another 3 miles offshore fighting current and wind! I really thought about buying a Kayak at first! THK GOD I didn't!!! Anthony bot my son & I went to Drano Lake this month and to be honest when he hooked his 1st salmon we stayed calm we switched spots pretty easy. I went to the back of the ski and grabbed the net while he was fighting the salmon. I was standing up and when he was ready I netted the fish and that was it. I thought it was going to be a lot hard but it actually wasn’t. There is those crazy people that are assholes but I try no to pay attention to them.

Watched every review of this machine, and not one mention of an anchor point,and on something dedicated to fishing,, that's as important as all the other features,and more important than some of the gimmicks like a cool music system???

People don't understand..... This is more than a boat, depending on fishing location there are limitations. You can literally launch this anywhere, can go much shallower, can use it to go out at sea on calm days. Boats are money pits, these jet ski's are reliable and versatile. Can fish the jetties, bay, rigs, anywhere you want it to go with plenty of storage for you or one other person.
Emilio López hell yeah you can. There are attachments for skiers and wakeboarders. And we pull tubes also. The ski pilón cost $300 and some change but to pull a tube you don’t need anything

Still alot easier with a 16 ft boat with alot more usable space to move around on.

You can do anything you want with enough skill. Not a bad idea though and would love to see you're idea in action.

We have a few sandbar crossings on the Gold Coast where it would be alot easier to cross on a jet ski rather than a boat. This would serve me well.

No top speed run? I love the face it has the GPS/fish/depth finder and I don't even fish. (Could be handy for hurricane and flood rescues.)

The sonar on mine is terrible. Keeps shorting out . Seadoo techs can’t find problem. Very frustrating!

People don't understand..... This is more than a boat, depending on fishing location there are limitations. You can literally launch this anywhere, can go much shallower, can use it to go out at sea on calm days. Boats are money pits, these jet ski's are reliable and versatile. Can fish the jetties, bay, rigs, anywhere you want it to go with plenty of storage for you or one other person.
Pwc’s and night fishing is a no no in Texas. To bad, they need to change the rules. Night fishing is where its at for beating the texas heat.

Emilio López hell yeah you can. There are attachments for skiers and wakeboarders. And we pull tubes also. The ski pilón cost $300 and some change but to pull a tube you don’t need anything
