  • Every spring our horses start shedding like crazy, and we like to help them get rid of all that winter hair, so I am going to share this trick with you.

    Been handin out used up rasps to clients this time of year,for years...One precaution i will pass along,,is this.......Depending on the brand of rasp be careful of cutting yourself and your horse..Top quality brand rasps are pretty sharp,when fairly new..Better to use a more worn one,for this application..

    I actually used hacksaw blades that went dull. It works like a charm

    I've been doing the curry comb shuffle for a month and Im getting pretty good at it too! The hair just won't stop......which is what got me here. I've been using a palm soft curry lately......I was wondering if I should just clip at this point. Especially around the rib and below area of the barrel.....it is more stubborn than the neck and back. Achooooooo!

    How do I know I got all of it while not stripping my mares fur? I'm worried I'll give her bald spots

      You'll know. It quits coming off once the the winter hair is pulled off.

    Can this work on dogs?

    • @TheAdventureCowboy
      @TheAdventureCowboy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would not use it on dogs. Horses are much larger and have more surface area and muscle mass. I think if you used a hard, rigid rasp on something small, like a dog, it would probably be quite uncomfortable and maybe hurt them

    The fact that you are helping a WHITE horse shed, with a BLACK coat on..... Come on, that has to make someone laugh.
