Lately, a lot of people think people who prefer niche over designers are "niche snobs" but as someone who prefers niche over designer myself, I simply find niche perfumes more complex and interesting. When you discover the nishe , you can"t go back. Of couse, It remines the legendary houses - Guerlain, Dior, etc. with their legendery creations, but the new releases are, for me, pretty much the same. There are some different top notes, but the drydown is very simmilar to manny designer creations.

Have you tried The Elemental ? Newer nose based in Brooklyn. I’m going to order a sample pack soon. He has a fragrance called The Grands that is based on fragrances his grandparents wore

I honestly believe that unless you are 20 years old and under or you are not into fragrances that much then you have no excuse to buy designer fragrances, maybe with the exception of Hermes. Even Dior and Chanel are out of their minds lately. Very nice video!
I totally get that. On the other hand, I'm not one to lift a nose on a designer fragrance out of snobbism or what not. If I recognize quality in a designer fragrance and i like it, i will buy and wear it. What i cannnot stand, in addition to the the distinction you were making by naming them "commercial fragrance" is a celebrity for example who wakes up one day and decided to make a perfume because there is money to be made there. Personal choice, and I may be right or wrong, I will for example never wear David Beckham or Jennifer Lopez

I definitely prefer niche. To have fragrances that are weird, interesting and exclusive because of cost, even! Today I am wearing L’Animal Sauvage and I love how unusual it is and sultry and honeyed. Feeling pleased. But then again I love some commercial fragrances too.. I love La Nuit Trésor or rather when I smell it I feel addicted to it.
I have a both commercial and niche in my collection, but the majority are niche. I haven’t tried Maya Njie, and only first heard of her the other day when Mr.Cologne interviewed Kimberly from Muse. Definitely sounds like an interesting line. May have to sample some!
I don't know which I prefer, I know once I dipped into Niche it's been hard to go back to the commercial ones. But there are so creative good ones out there. And nice little intro to the brand, I think I've found what I'll be trying next 🙂

I love that song, and of course, "Lovin you," in which, at the end, she repeats the name of her now-famous daughter, Maya Rudolph (SNL, "Bridesmaids"), in a melodic, angelic way: "Maya, Maya..." It depends on the scent itslef - I love Terre d'Hermes, Perles de Lalique... However I don't want to give my money to monsters like Estee Lauder. So I try to get into the lables, and check who is who.
