    After sampling how do you figure out the notes and the chords to use to add more instruments for emaple like that base you added so fast! Is it by ear or are you a Professional keyboard player?
    My problem is when i sample after the sample i add the drums then I get stuck because i just can't find the notes to add more instruments like keys base and more. what do you suggest?

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a professional keyboard player but I know some music theory. I just play some notes on top of the sample and from the notes that sound good I can usually tell which key it's in and what chords would work. However, sometimes the sample itself can be out of tune, especially with old records. Then all notes sound wrong and it's a struggle to tune it. If you get stuck, I suggest you try the free Autotune app for your phone, works great for telling you the key.

    Hi there... hey could you maybe make a video about how you go about clearing your samples etc or what you do to make sure everything is legit. Thanks

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're sampling other songs, Tracklib is your best bet, otherwise it's pretty impossible if you're small artist.
      I will consider doing such video, thanks for the idea. But if I have to be honest, I just use obscure samples, chop and process them and hope for the best 😅 (so far so good).
      And yes, I have released some beats with samples, including this one and I haven't had any copyright issues. Although I'd say 95% of the tracks I release don't contain samples from other songs, mostly royalty-free vocals here and there and generally I compose everything else from scratch.

    How to find the key of sample?

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just play a piano preset along with the sample and try to hear which notes sound "in key" with the sample. But you can also try using the Auto-Key app by Antares (iOS only though).

  • @jbest911
    @jbest911 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your channel! Question about sampling from iPhone or other devices: do you ever experience poor quality recording into the Maschine? Sometimes I feel like there is a filter or something to block people from recording videos. It has been happening to me more often. Even using the Splice mobile app. Thanks!

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! But no, it must be some problem with your particular setup, neither Maschine, nor the apps know what you’re recording from or into.

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what is there to explain. Just play the samples and record them one at a time. Do you have basic knowledge of Ableton? Let me know if I can make a video or help in any other way. But explaining in a comment is not really practical.

    • @allenuzoma8704
      @allenuzoma8704 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LowHeatBeatsa video would be helpful. Because I have a year or 2 of experience in Ableton but now am using my akai mpd226 as the trigger for drum rack. And have been unable to record singular parts or find videos showing it being done

    • @allenuzoma8704

      @@dfgfpooifejIts not a need, more so a luxury question. Its just something that would speed up my workflow. I feel that the idea I am trying to articulate is being misinterpreted. What I mean for example is, if I am recording out my drum rack and have it live looping for 4 bars, after the first recording loved the placement of my kick, I was wondering if there was a way to rerecord but only my snare be changed

  • @dspmusik81

    Excellent stuff as usual.
    How did you match the tempo of the sample?

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn’t, I just make sure every slice starts with a note and find a tempo for my beat where it grooves nicely. The bpm of the project is faster than the sample but the way I play it makes it sound like they are matched. Hope it makes sense.

    • @dspmusik81
      @dspmusik81 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LowHeatBeats sweet, it worked!

    • @Iredidv
      @Iredidv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slice detect, find start and end point, delete all slices between start and end, drag to another pad and choose edit>truncate. Go to slice again, the bpm is on the page, with the option to double or halve the tempo. Like if you make drum 'n bass at 140 and it says 70, just push x2 and it will be perfect. Another way (i think) is go to stretch and it will show original bpm, with the song tempo next to it. But i mostly use the 1st way.The trick is setting the right start and end point, and you need 2 things: slicing detect, and your ears.

    Did you allready know how to play piano before you made beats? How did you learn?

    • @LowHeatBeats

    • @LowHeatBeats

      I'm always honest in my videos 😅 But my approach has always been to use the sample as a foundation/idea started and record more instruments on top.
