Fantastic model, beautifully painted as ever. This is my favourite Space Marine in the set because all the detail in the mini has a narrative. I'd love a JoyToy sized model of him.
Ohhh that’d be very cool! They’re bringing out a lot, hopefully we’ll get one some day! Yeah it’s so cool, you can instantly see his backstory as soon as you look at him!
Something cool about this guy is that he's apparently the last survivor of the previous force sent to fight the tyranids, hence the phobos armour and chitin plating. He's been going fully Rambo on them until reinforcements have arrived.
The terminator captain and the librarian look great. I'm really digging the new tyranids. Can't lie though, I'm kinda happy the termagants got some new models.
This format works well when you're painting a model in a chapter scheme you have already explained, just honing in on the new bits beyond the normal scheme. Excellent as always....the only downside is we don't get to see other chapters etc. Very happy though!
Haha if I had more copies of Leviathan I would definitely paint up other chapters :D Ideally people can see the steps and apply other schemes I've done on the channel in the same way. Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it!
Love how looks, while I love how he looks as is, I'm going to customize mine by removing the blade he's out in front of him, and put a Hormagaunt blade on the hilt instead, so it's like he made a sword out of a slane enemy. I think it will go well with his chitin shoulder pad Great video as always Andy These are looking great!!
@@craggylotus thank you, my cousin and I are splitting Leviathan so I figure if I have a veteran of the war between my space marines and his hive fleet would make it just a bit cooler
The banter instead of the paint tutorial is way better, especially if you've done a tutorial before, just saves yourself from becoming too repetitive. Leapers next for the nids, then Sternguard, not that I'm biased to those guys 😅 Keep the awesome content coming, hoping I can get some videos done for it when I get my box.
Leaper video is live now! 😄 yeah the more relaxed style of videos is a lot more fun and makes sense when its the same scheme again! Definitely get some content out on it, people will watch it! I look forward to your videos!
Hi Andy. I like the format - it makes sense to explain more when you are painting the first member of a squad/army and less on subsequent videos. I think a bit of gloss varnish on the purple blood would make it pop. Have you considered painting some Stationforge Grimguard to go alongside your DKoK army? I’ve printed off loads recently and am loving the poses and variety.
That purple looks tops for the tryanid blood. I like the previous format better where you talked about each step. But maybe somewhere in between could be a sweet spot for people
I'd been dithering over what to paint my Leviathan marines as, it was between Imperial Fists and Blood Angels, but you may be steering me toward flesh tearers tbh.
Hey Andy it’s great to see your tutorials for effective ways to paint that feel achievable. It’d be great to see you challenge yourself on a model and maybe try a non speedy approach h. To mix things up a little
I’ve done it a few times! I just don’t often have the time and I’m also pretty happy with my style so I don’t feel like I need to improve, I prefer being able to get models painted fast. Check out my Slaan videos though!
The Terminator Captain looks great to me, I'm actually thinking of sticking a hammer on him for my Blood Angels, and he's probably my favourite of the Marines half. This Lt. looks way better painted up here than the pictures made me think. I think the big brain bug from the Tyranids (Neurotyrant?) is my favourite from that side, but the Von Ryan's Express guys look really great too. (new Deathleaper surpasses them all, I can see why they kept that as a stand-alone release)
Looks 10/10 pal. Still think I'll be going straight for that new Apothecary model first. Very tempted to take the jump from Ultramarine to Flesh Tearer now though after seeing this haha
The librarian and the terminator with the assault cannon are my favs, trying to work out if I can corrupt them into one of my traitor armies 😈. As for the nids not sure probably the leapers although I do like the termagaunts a lot too.
I'd like to see how you tackle the neurogaunts, as the "box art" suggests that they should be a little lighter than the rest of the little buggers :). Today's dude turned out awesome :). Do you have Shadowspear? If you do and you didn't paint it up yet, you have a bunch of phobos dudes there (and my favourite librarian model as well). As for the next SM video, I'd like to see how you'll tackle the apothecary, as BA successors usually have them in "non-standard" colours, don't they?
Ive been looking for a different way to paint up my necron kill tea, and now i have it. The operatives are going to be painted flesh tearer red with black weapons and glowing green power cells. They only one that wont be is the technomancer. He will be standard gun metal necron. The narrative is the units are a kill team and they get dusted off when a mancer needs a kill team to join him on a mission. I hope it works out.
Damn this turned out really good looking. This mini in particular suits the blood angels theme, might be because they are badass nutters 🤣 I would say a Black Templar scheme would also look great as well because ypu onow they are also nutters 😂
I did think about doing them for my Black Templars but the librarian wouldn't work! Hopefully someone else does them as Black Templars anyway so we can still see how they look!
Fantastic work again Andy 👍 looking forward to the next Leviathan project. I stuck on whether to paint my army Flesh Tearers or Scythes of the Emperor??
I finally got around to startpainting my leviathan models, but when I noticed the imperial fists makes them really look like either walking lemons or minion, I remembered your awesome tyranid guide and that you had an equally awesome SM scheme - and here I am, jotting down notes to paint them as flesh tearers, too. Good work! I have 2 questions, you might help with. One: Do you exchange the whole shoulderpad to get the symbol on there or is it just the symbol you attach to the existing pad? Two: is the red color as prone to coffeestaining as with me? :D Thanks, and keep makeing such awesome videos! chances are they help others in the future :)
I've been trying to find tips on how to paint the bolter on the back there. Looks like a pain to squeeze a brush back there. Almost want to sub assembly paint it first.
For me if it’s hard to get a brush in, it’s hard enough to see so I don’t worry too much about painting details but you could definitely do subassembly if you’re doing it as a painting project!
Completely random thought: I like that you base all your figures for the same world, but do you have a Martian battle board for home games? Really love how Leviathan is turning out, thank you!
So you skipped the part where you painted the Tyranid blood on his blade. I tuned in specifically for that recipe for my Iron Hands, but this Irish dude was left disappointed. I'll get over it. Just him and Terminator Captain left to do.
Really liked the banter over just step by step voice over.
Good to know man, thanks for that!

And tiamet quick painting guide.....
It’s going to be a crazy week alright.
The Biologis and the Screamer Killer are my favorites by far.
Solid choices.
That sounds brilliant with the three box idea!
Now I just need to find time to do it!

They were badly needed 😅
I foresee another marathon painting week coming with that third box you mentioned
Yeah…probably 😅

Really is a cool idea. Like the Hersey book with Lucius.
The Screamer Killer and the Lieutenant are my two favourite models. Both look really cool and I think have the most character
Yeah they really stand out to me as well as being a sign of great things to come for both forces!
The mini turned out great. The video format was very entertaining. Can’t wait for Leviathan week and all the videos you have planned.
Thanks so much, glad you’re enjoying the more relaxed type of videos!
So many people were like oh great another lt, but this model is amazing and the flesh teasers look really makes it pop
Yeah this guy isn't your average LT! Glad you liked the scheme, the model really is unique!
Like the "chatty" approach to the videos, especially if you are painting similar schemes as you have done in earlier videos.
Good to hear that man, yeah it’s hard to just say the same thing again and again 😄 thanks for that!

I haven’t learned all the names yet either 😂 I know which one you mean though, should be coming up soon!

Also how or where did you get the Flesh Tearer emblem on the shoulder ?
Thanks man! It’s a 3D printed one from Cults!
again. Amazing Paintjob. I hope someday I'll only have 10% of you on it
If you meant what I think you meant, you got this, everything I do is super achievable!
Hi Andy, great video as always. I have one question (probably already asked somewhere). Where do you get the Flesh Tearers shoulder markings?
Thanks so much! They’re 3D printed, you should be able to find them with a quick google, don’t want to share the exact link in case it gets nuked!

I have so many videos up on painting templars. I’m sure you could paint this guy with those.
Do the leapers
Come back later tonight lol
what do you use to keep the miniature on the holder you are using in the video?
Painting handle from frontier wargaming!

Hahaha I actually cannot find a nice mat a like. It’s driving me nuts.
Great job. Go with whatever narration you want. Doesn't always have to be the same.
Thanks man, appreciate hearing that!
Do you take your contrast paints straight from the pot or do you put them on set palette first? They always seem so glossy when you are applying them
From a pallet. Ye sometimes the drys bit shiny. You can matt varnish it if you don’t like it.
@@MediocreHobbies wet palette or just a well on a dry one? Any drops of medium added?
Hmmm 🤔 is every third person a primaris LT .
Not in the slightest! :D
Do you just pull straight from the pot or do you thin it out??
I use a wet palette but I don't add any extra water or medium to any of the paints on the wet palette!
