I don’t think we know the full story about Raven...why she left and why is she the way she is now and how did she became the Spring Maiden....we might have some guesses but with anime there’s always a twist and more than meets the eye....but I think Taiyang and Raven have an overdue heart to heart, Raven cannot run away forever... I don't think he can forgive raven so easily after abandoning her child. as for winter, I think she could care less about her being the winter maiden.
Raven is the older twin. Their mother died after giving birth to them yet Qrow was blamed for being bad luck/cursed. It could be a way to show how Raven is the older of the two. And the other comments about Ravens being bigger are most likely too.

Idk why people like this woman. She is terrible and a huge mess of a person. She abandoned her daughter not once, but twice ! The first was when yang was little and the second was at the battle of Haven Academy. Everything Yang yelled at her mom is true, she turns her back on people, she runs away when things get to tough, and she puts other in harms way instead of herself. And she just goes on with life and trys to act like her own daughter doesn't exist. Lets not forget the fact she sided with Cinder and her crew to try and kill her own brother! All just to save her own ass and her tribe. Raven only values her own life and hardly cares about her family. She rather hang out in the woods with a bunch of killers and thieves rather in a nice and warm home with her real family. In that volume 10 storyboard video on TH-cam where raven brings team RWBY and Jaune back to qrow and the rest and people at that pabel were happy and excited to see her again, i wasn't happy. I'm still pissed at her for everything she's done. Raven has alot to apologize for in volume 10 if she is planning on fighting along side the team in the upcoming war against Salem. I wanna see her crying her ass off and apologizing to her daughter and everyone else for all that shes done, then ill forgive her. I hope they don't forgive her so easily like they did with emerald, i thought that was terrible.
