Perhaps in this age of empowering women and their due respect in Hollywood, music and every aspect of life, Nick gives his honest opinion of what he sees. It's not sexist, just his opinion. Nick Cave is being sarcastic, he’s teasing, I know he might not look it but he’s significantly older than everyone else here, he was part of the 79’ post-punk movement. Needless to say all the men and women involved in that scene had the bohemian atheistic long before L7. Nick Caves own hair is long and greasy, so we’re all his male and female colleagues. He doesn’t actually care that L7’s hair is not brushed or washed.
