- From the 15th episode of the Punks On Pizza Podcast Henry Rollins discusses his relationship with Nick Cave over the years, and how he and Jello Biafra ended up doing back up vocals at a live Grinderman (Nick Cave's Guitar band as Henry refers to it) show, complete with a solid Jello Impression.
I thought this was a really great answer from Henry, thoughtful, formative, funny, and touching. All at the rapid fire pace Henry is known for. - เพลง
I met Jello Biafra once and spent a couple of hours chatting to him. Henry’s impression is spot on.
Great to hear Rowland getting a plug, the most underrated guitarist!
Spotify put breakdown and then on my discover weekly and that's how I found out about nick cave lmao, went backwards😭
The thing I love about Henry is that beyond being one of the most important/influential front men in punk rock history, he might be the biggest punk rock fan in punk rock history.
I hear you. But I would say that he's a massive fan of music in general, across myriad genres. According to legend that was a big selling point in his favour when Greg Ginn needed a new singer for Black Flag
Listening to Rollins talk about anything he is enthusiastic about is always a delight.
as a huge bad seeds fan this was really interesting! appreciate you putting this out
As a huge Nick Cave fan myself, I knew I had to put it out there. Thanks a lot man.
Super interesting, I knew they were connected well but never knew the back story, that’s awesome. Thanks for the upload!
Henry has awesome memory. Guess not drinking and not doing any drugs helps with that.
good point, I was also thinking that his memory is incredible when watching this video (and others)
Its how he remembers it, he makes his stories very entertaining for obvious reasons
Some Rock and Roll history here❤
This was awesome especially when he talked about the johnny Rotten thing
Thanks man, I thought so!
Lmao that Jello impression killed me 😂
Nick is a genius and he is hilarious.Henry is on hell of a story teller brilliant.
I've watched that johnny Rotten marks Ramone argument it was classic
OH HENRY
I gotta thank Metallica for introducing me to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Their Let Love In Album is the most beautiful masterpiece I have ever heard song for song. It had poetry In music, romantic sound and even some punk rock rawness to it. Genius
Rowland S Howard is the genius of The Birthday Party. The music he put out after The Birthday Party, his solo stuff is terrific. The Bad Seed, is just meh.
@@stevemorley No, that's Albert Einstein's opinion. I speak for Albert Einstein.
Oh ..youre trying to be cool ..i get it
@@marxman00 Just stating my opinion, d-bag.
The Birthday Party was the best thing Nick Cave ever did
@@TheViralPulse I concur.
Just past 1:53. Something that always strikes me when listening to Henry speak is that even though he can absolutely verbally excoriate someone if he wants to, he is also completely unreserved when it comes to speaking about artists he respects.
I want to say generous, but that could imply he's embellishing, which would be unfair. He's being super complimentary but nothing he is saying about Nick and Rowland S is untrue
Henry..i was there..saw 2 cavemen shows suicide 4 bp shows..guess what..i was too afraid..to come see black flag in the marquee i. Ll regret that for ever .saw you 1 year later i think..with the 1 st henry rollins band gig in londen..town and country? Club..that was superb. I ve never seen you better..hope to meet you 1 day. We have a lot in common.im huge iggy bp and black flag fan. Too😊
Jeez. Sounds like a really long answer.
I would have expected a lot more people in those seats, not six or seven people and empty seats.
It was the VIP Q&A after the show. Place was packed
Has Henry Rawls ever spoke out with an opinion about all the Covid hysteria? Lockdowns, masks, jabs? Just curious as to what an anti-establishment icon that he is think about all that stuff..
He said during that tour when he saw a woman sticking up anti vaccine propaganda stickers he laughed knowing it wasn’t just America that the “anti-science” crowd was everywhere. If that answers your question
