Highlights of Norway's National Day in Trondheim, Norway

May 17 is Norwegian Constitution Day and it's essentially Norway's birthday party. This year’s celebrations were marred by rain and wind, but the poor weather did not stop locals and visitors from getting out and enjoying themselves.
In this video I’ll tell you a bit about Norway’s National Day, and show you how the day is celebrated here in Trondheim, Norway’s third biggest city and my home for the last 10 years.

Thank you David. Again, I'll mention my mother's family has deep roots in Trondheim, and especially in the Byneset Church area. I was mindful of Syttenda Mai this year, but only by emailing a person in the Historical Society in the town (Baldwin, WI) where my grandparents had a farm, and then a diner and a bar. All individual businesses. My grandfather (b. 1900) was an instigator to start celebrating Syttenda Mai in that small town in 1925-26. It was fun to see your video on my 27" monitor, of the celebrations in our families homeland. Tusen Takk.
