At my first market I was put in a building next to someone else who crocheted too and I asked the organizers to move me outside lol it’s a huge no no to be next to someone selling similar things
It's really nice to see some fellow Canadians in this saturated category of amigurumi creators on TH-cam. Also refreshing to hear price points in CAN without having to convert from USD.

One time I went to a six-hour show, pulled out my craft bag... no hook. I couldn't work on anything. When I got home, I found the hook inside a skein of yarn! 😂 Now I have an extra hook in my cash box!
omg 😂 it's really the worst! the market i had today i made sure to bring my yarn and tools and i had this feeling like i was forgetting something... once i was nearly finished a duckie and ready to stuff i realized i forgot my polyfil 🥲 so i wasn't able to make any plushies 😂

just wanted to mention the sticky roller is just a piece of outwardly facing tape roll. there are many sheets of it (if you didn't know - but you probably know) the outer piece can be removed, there are many many sticky pages on the roller.

I don't have any help with my market either and am usually the last one packing up but I still feel proud of myself for being out there doing it because I love the market atmosphere. I'm fine with the customer questions except when it is obvious they are just info collecting for themselves. If someone is openly excited to be asking questions about a craft I react really well and am happy to provide any info I can if they are also interested in the craft for themselves but I guess it is just sneaky people that I'm not interested in conversing with. My main craft is leatherwork and the comments are very constant and great but the nasty-minded people light up like a Christmas tree and are really easy to deal with now. Mean people come up and just nod toward an item and say "China" My reaction to those people is varied but basically I'm not interested in their money. I'm finding that the more expensive the stall fee, the more chance of encountering rude people because the lower the stall fee the more down-to-earth customers are and they are genuinely interested in the products and happy to be at the markets
You should be proud! Running a business by yourself is hard work! and yes I have heard of friend's having similar experiences with ignorant customers. I do sometimes have customers that do know how to crochet so I usually let them know that I sell patterns or that I list all the patterns I use under my posts (on instagram) if they're ever interested in making it themselves.

your doing great their was two other crochet tabloes with there items there which prob reasons why the sales didnt go that great but dont give up. i had the same issue.

Hope my English is not so bad, actually, Im a translator 🤣 but didnt work for many years cause of my 2 little girls 😜

I enjoyed this video. I honestly don’t like that vendors should share how much they earn, this can be different for everyone as you have said. Would have loved to know what was your unique best sellers and what you would be your do’s and don’ts for your business. I am also truly sorry you had to do those stairs 😢. Before I did markets I was a server and Bartender for 9 years. I have had all the customer experiences
omg I can only imagine! I used to work retail and all my bad customer experiences have been from there! 😅
@JingoCrochet lol the absolute worst was when I worked at a tourist restaurant in North Carolina. It had a deck on the water and was a popular fresh seafood place. The food was expensive and the people were wild and I was super sick from being pregnant working doubles. I have all the crazy stories.
Awesome stuff girl! I’m a custom candle maker (not your average candles lol) and a coordinator contacted me on one of my Facebook market posts asking me to be a vendor at her show! I’m terrified but I said yesss as I felt so honoured to have been recruited lol so I’m doing it!! I’m cramming all I can about markets before I get there for setup lol

I always ask my vendor friends if they've done that person's markets before just because I've had some friends (and myself) who have had bad experiences with some crummy market coordinators 😅 But I do really hope that is not the case for you! 💗 I love seeing custom candles!! I have a friend who makes yummy food themed ones aha 😂 you can see some of these candle vendors in my last market video! Thank you for your support!! 💞
I do the same thing with my trash 💀😂 I just toss it in a tote that doesn’t have my plushies cuz I always forget to bring an trash bag (never food stuff though!!!)

Thank you! I use Sweet Snuggles Lite and I altered the Leggy Froggy pattern to have less rounds so they do look a bit different from how the original pattern looks (and they work up quicker!) 😄

I got them from amazon, in my description box I listed them as "3 tiered metal stand" and put the link, however, when I initially bought the stand it was much cheaper than what it is now, but if you search for foldable food stands on amazon you might find some similar items! hope this helps! :D

Hello! How much would you crochet for a market? I know it comes down to how much time you’ll be there and stuff but I’m looking into doing a market and wondering how much stuff I need to make!
Hii you're right it does depend! i would say make a variety of items, if its your first market I would focus on items that take less time (~1hr or less) to get a good amount of stock and also these items will be cheaper and more likely to sell! i would say make 3-5 of each small item to get a good variety, for example these could be mushroom bois, leggy froggies, duckies, etc. you'll get a better idea of what will work better for your markets once you do that first market! 😄
