With Logitech Unifying Software you will get the convenience of one tiny receiver you can leave in your computer and reduce the number of USB ports you use with your Logitech Unifying receiver. You no longer need a different receiver for each device.
Step 1 Launch the Logitech Unifying Multi-Connect Utility. Step 2 Plug in one Unifying receiver; remove any extra receiver from the USB port. Unifying receiver. You can select any combination, up to a total of six (6) devices.
NOTE: If you've lost the USB receiver to your Logitech wireless mouse, you can purchase it on Amazon and the good news is that Logitech unifying receivers can manage the connections for 6 or 7 wireless Logitech products at the same time provided they are marked with the orange unifying logo.
The program does exactly what the name says, it converts the Logitech Bluetooth dongle from HID (USB) to HCI (Bluetooth) mode! It's activated when you log in, and voila! you have your Bluetooth dongle, with which you can pair any other device.
Logitech's Unifying technology enables you to replace those easily-lost wireless receivers and maybe even free up a USB port. ... For this, you need to download the free Unifying Software from Logitech's site. Once the software is installed, just start the program and follow the prompts.
Pair with another Unifying receiver
Download and install Logitech Unifying software.
Press the Easy-Switch button to select a channel.
Press the Connect button. ...
On the computer, plug the Unifying receiver into a USB port and follow the onscreen instructions for completing the pairing.

I have a Gear Head brand mouse (lost the receiver - not Logitech brand) so can this method still be used if I buy a replacement Dongle to pair with the mouse?

If you have MX anywhere 1 mouse and it is locked to another receiver, try holding the right mouse button as you turn it on.

It's not working for the K230 keyboard. The unifying software just keeps saying that there's no unifying receiver, even though a bluetooth receiver is plugged in... pathetic.

Author forgot to mention that only Logitech USB receivers with an orange star on top, known as "Unifying" receivers, will work with the instructions shown. Not all Logitech USB receivers are compatible. Logitech unifying receiver is around $5 online.
Normally I showed it in the thumbnail and I showed the webpage which model is compatible.

My unify mouse M510 is not pairing to the logitech app. The USB cable is connected and it is still not connecting to my mouse. Tbf I can move my mouse and anything but it doesn't pair to my mouse device. It is inactive I think

I got some cheappy logi mouse keyboard combo pack crap and busted the mouse. got an independent logi mouse with unifying logo on it. Going to see if I can get it to do both the old keyboard and new mouse to same one as this 2 usbs stuff is annoying on a laptop with only 3 USB slots.

when I go to the logitech site and try to download the unifying ... it says "There are no downloads for this version" I have no idea what version they are replying to?? But I guess my unifying keyboard is not unifying :(

The link I clicked on is the one for logitech unifying receiver - I'm thinking that this PC is Windos 7 (my fav) thought it might have something to do with that. I have a Windows 10 PC but have not tried to use it for the key board. I have about 5 keyboards and a hand full of dongles - but none of the work on any of the keyboards even if they do have that unifying daisy on them.

duing the installation of unifying it is asking me to insert the dongle. But if I've lost the dongle how can I insert it? That's the whole point.. I do not have the dongle!
