I once heard a saying. The A380 was built for the passengers. The B787 was built for the airlines. I've always found the 380 more comfortable, regardless of the airline flying it, and if I can, I'll always go for routes where a 380 is flying. They're going to be around for a few more years yet!
Agreed, it just gives me confidence due to the size / space. It's was amazing when half the aircraft was empty from Doha to LHR and I went for a walk inside. Time just flies on that plane.
Etihad business class is one of my favorites. Food is delicious. I love to have the steak sandwich in between meals lol - and lounges in Abu Dhabi are nice to hang out. Never disappointed. 👍
Glad you had a good experience Josh. As crew, I always try to keep the loo spotless 😂 I should do a video reaction on this. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Best regards
My favorite movies are „Mars attacks!“, „The Blues Brothers“ and „John Wick Chapter I-IV“…. Thank you very much. Josh, for sharing your flight experience video with us.
I flew with Etihad last year from Frankfurt to Tokyo and back. The first leg was on the 787-10 and the second on the -9. It was like to completely different experiences. The -10 seemed more modern, spacious and they had metal cutlery. Nevertheless I was impressed with the 3 meal options and the outstanding service. And of course I booked the two seats at the back you mentioned in your video about them - thanks for the tip! Just for someone who thinks about flying with them: only one item on board is allowed and they will weigh it.
I booked my Qatar flight from Sydney to Helsinki via Doha before your stupid ban. Ground staff are confused (as if no one travelled from Syd to Hel before) but the staff were amazing on board. After seeing your review I was stressed...but crew were amazing....my connecting flight was cancelled (but Finnairs fault as I hear). I then flew home from Gatwick to Sydney. I rate Qatar. You should not have been banned, thats wrong...Just sharing my experience
10:03 THE A380 spoiled us all. The economy class and business class are what flying should be. Now the corporate bean counters want to end it. Keep us stuffed in sardine cans. Ever since I flew business class on Emirates A380 (NYC to Dubai to Seychelles) I promised myself I would never fly economy again. I keep a spare credit card just to book my flights.
@@exile220ify considering the downfall of Boeing, it’s very possible the A380 will be around for a little while. I don’t expect Emirates or Etihad to stop using them anytime soon. The same goes for Asiana and a few other airlines that have high volume.
Agree! Last year was a LHR - DXB hop on EK A380 Business Class, just a fantastic experience. Then an onward connection (5 hours) on EK B773 Business Class - really good, but straight away 'not A380 good' ... !
This is one of the few times i have watched a 3 flight review from you Josh - Sri Lanka to the Maldives, to Abu Dhabi and onto London. Fantastic editing of all flights, well done. 👏 ✔👍
Look at that! I literally just booked a flight on Etihad for the first time for September from (Australia - Singapore first) Singapore to Frankfurt and then boom I see this video!! Great work Josh as always and I’m hoping to do a review myself on that journey and hopefully it’s up to your flight review standards 👏🏾😂 I’ll try my best lol.
Missed your videos, Josh!! You're one of my favorites! Such a wonderful trip showing business class on Dreamliner, and economy of my dream plane, the A380. Such a great video, Josh. Thanks again! 😊 Oh, can you travel to the US?? I'm getting a keyring!
10 seats across seems tight and their legroom is very tight especially when you have people beside you . The last time we flew with Etihad this was our experience .
i really enjoy your work... i am a broadcast journalist and have worked in different cities or markets in the USA for almost 28 years. i have done my share of traveling. I appreciate the time you devote editing your product.. the organized structure of your rundown, the legwork that you devote to your programs is reflected on my screen. an observation i would like to point out to you is the hyper regionalism of your content. i understand it, don't get me wrong; we are reporters of our own stories and of our own experiences. you do not live in this hemisphere and i dont recall you devoting time to airlines flying based on side of the world. you were in bolivia, but that was the only content which as a regular viewer i remember seeing. i also could be wrong. i am ofter are. as one of your many followers and frequent flyer on for my own assignments, i would like to see content produced and devoted of airlines based in the americas; gol, azul, latam, copa. avianca, aeromexico, alaska, aerolineas argentinas, delta, united, etc. heck, even reporting on iberia's or the tap products! as you have created and produced a magnificent and elegant niche reporting, maybe this is something that perhaps could be included in future segments? again congratulations and be well. sal
Such a cool video with Etihad, Josh. If my family wants to travel to the middle east, Etihad Airways would likely be our best option. Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 is one of my favorite movie back in 2023.
I’m from, North Sentinel Island, competing for the key tag. Hope I’ll win. We’ve got no airports though. But don’t worry it’s a 1km swim from Sri Lanka 😊
From PHX on American Airlines to Chicago (AA is mentionable only in their shortcomings) and then to Mumbai via Abu Dhabi, Etihad delivered unsurpassed service. Half way around the world, it didn’t feel like it. I don’t need a suite, just a nice bed, and a little privacy. They delivered. Their lounge in AD was incredible. Great service great attendants. Loved them.
Would love to try either the new business class or the config that you had but EY persist in flying the 777ER to Australia so we're stuck with the even older config. The crew and service are still great but the hard product is now well behind the times.
I flew on them a few weeks ago from London to Phuket, the food was awful, the only good things were that they have closed the horrible old terminal, the plane was half empty and it was cheap, they must be losing so much money I can't see them surviving.
I flew their business class this year on both 787 and 380. Worst flight - it felt cheap, the toilets were dirty and the crew not friendly nor provided sufficient service
Great to see you’re back! I’ve never flown “backwards”, and I’m not sure I would like that sensation. How about a review of Scoot? I’ve flown them several times, and other than always being delayed, the service and the crew have always been great. I think they get a bad rap.
Etihad is a good Airline to fly. I experienced the service, they assist and guide you so well, airport crew, airline crew are smiling and so energetic, helpful... #etihad ❤
When I flew with them last year from Europe to australia. The food was mediocre, the crew were mediocre and the terminal in Abu Dhabi was absolutely awful
AUH to LHR is hard for the crew as its a night flight and guest profile is quite demanding. Etihad crew that fly 380 are constantly doing the same sector so its not the same as crew who just had a nice layover in colombo 😅 Amazing review tho!!

You're gonna be mad at me for saying this but Etihad and Qatar are the only 2 we use to fly to Oz. Both have outstanding onboard service and the food is good. IFE - well you are spolit for choice on both
Etihad's internet package is reasonable - on flights below 7 hours' block time (e.g. MAD-AUH, as I flew recently) but, as soon as the block time goes over the 7 hour mark (e.g. AUH-MAD) the prices are double, if not higher. So, not quite so reasonable!
Hi. This video was filmed a while ago right? Etihad no longer offer this route and haven’t for at least 6 months. I did it 10 months ago but now they don’t do the stopover in male from Colombo any more.
From Sydney to Abu Dhabi not good they used the Boeing 777 200ER way too small of a plane for a long haul 14 hour flight they should use the Airbus A380
Problem with the 380 is it has to be full or it loses money. And the boarding un boarding and baggage claim requires patience which many don't have on a long flight.
I just came through Munich, T1 on Wednesday, flying to Edinburgh. As a UK citizen I had to go through non-Shengen Passport Control along with three other departing flights. It took almost an hour to get through with people getting upset because their flights were being called. There were only two officers on duty. I was fortunate my easyjet flight was delayed because all the passengers were stuck in the Passport queue. At one point someone broke through the elastic barrier and everyone was pushed forward. It was absolute mayhem. Eventually the Police came with guns and pushed people back. I'm 69 years old and thought I was going to faint. It was dreadful!
Honestly, out of the big three middle eastern carriers (being qatar, emirates and Etihad) Etihad definitely takes the cake, they are the best in terms of customer service and satisfaction, overall pleasant vibes and efficiency of their flights (not as many delays as the other big 2 is what i'm getting at). The same cannot be said about the food but hey, plane food in general irrespective of the airline, is pretty gross, just not the best and is just highly processed stuff which our bodies don't need. Anyway, might I also add that I believe Etihad is the better part of the trio as their network and flight routes are smaller and less than the other two, which allows them to focus on their top notch service and makes the staff and crew generally more accommodating and can go the extra mile for customers and their needs. The other 2 are way too big to care about customer needs and service like Etihad does. They're such huge companies and treat their staff like they're numbers. So that's why for me personally, out of the trio, Etihad wins for me all the way. Peace from Australia ✌🏻
Etihad economy is probably the worst in the Middle East. I'm not sure what this guy is so happy about. I fly a lot (connecting in the Middle East) so I've seen it all
Just done the A787 from Abu Dhabi to Manchester Business Class and I concur….. However my second leg was an A777 a300 Business Class to Abu Dhabi to Manila which sadly wasn’t as good because of the age of the plane…The seating arrangements were old fashioned in their design and the bed wasn’t that comfortable and my entertainment system was faulty (seat 9)… I had the same seat on the return and it was still faulty which potentially 10 other passengers had the same issues as me during the intervening period… I was offered a WiFi voucher as compensation which i declined because I wanted fee access the the film menus… Interesting the head stuardess said “ yes in know about this as other customers have complained. Love Etihad...flown with them many times, mostly in Business. Very stylish cabins, food was truly excellent and FAs generally very good. Just got back from a return trip from London to Manila .. all 4 flights were completely full , apart from bidness class.. LHR-AUH was ok , as I had a window seat.. but AUH to MNL was in probably the oldest plane they have - a REALLY dilapidated 777 with about as much legroom as Ryanair or BA short haul .. I’m 183 cm tall and have broad shoulders.. one of the shittiest flights I’ve ever had to endure .. even the food wasn’t much good this time .. the crew tried hard , but you could tell they hated it too . MNL-AUH was on a 787-10 , and I was put in an extra legroom seat , and it was a good flight . Friendly crew and ok food .. on the last leg back to London , I was surrounded by several families who were all together, and they kept up a constant loud noise that made it a really bad flight again - not even 1 minute’s peace throughout the 7 hours plus extra time to get a landing slot at LHR … usually EY are very good for the low prices , but 2 of these flights were easily my worst with them .. and finally , we were served a hot tomato pastry as a meal on all 4 sectors .. BORING and lazy planning etc .. they’re probably the cheapest in the Middle East , but I very much doubt the best .. 🤨… crew are mostly great tho.. 🙏
AUH terminals 1 & 2 permanently closed, not sure if they have future plans for them. T3 will be mothballed for now, possible future uses are remote boarding concourse or as a low-cost carrier terminal.
I flew long haul business with them several times pre covid due to airline partnerships. I regularly dealt with meals that never arrived. or were the wrong meals, call buttons that were ignored for as long as possible, questionable food, unwanted religious propaganda, an overly crowded airport with unnecessary awful security when transferring, an over crowded lounge although I later had access to the first class lounge which was better. Crowded buses from plane to airport at AUH, I didn't like that window shades were closed soon after take off even on morning flights. They just wanted us to sleep and not annoy the cabin crew. Customer service was even worse. I haven't flown them since. And I don't think I would again.
I once heard a saying. The A380 was built for the passengers. The B787 was built for the airlines. I've always found the 380 more comfortable, regardless of the airline flying it, and if I can, I'll always go for routes where a 380 is flying. They're going to be around for a few more years yet!

And yet no one (other than myself) seemed to think of this inconvenience, prior to voting on Brexit! 🙄😫😫😫

Favourite movie. mmm, have to be Flying High (Airplane) and Blues Brothers 💪
