Very good Caroline, like the motor mount, looks much better than the stock one. Broke that mount a few times on my dolphin. Running my Dolphin on a 5s set up and gets through the Air nicely. Well done.
I think AtomRC have acknowledged the deficiency of the ply wood one by supplying the two 3D printed replacement ones. I was expecting to have to print my own.
Very nice build, always impressed with how clean your builds are and that nose looks the business for an 03. I am wondering how you'll go for the CRSF antenna causing drag at high speed so far away from the fuse. I had a 433Mhz antenna on my Mini Talon that caused noticeable drag out near the end of the wing which was noticeable even at low speeds and was a PITA. I'm currently running the exact same antenna as you on my dolphin and its close to the fuse but I'm thinking about putting it further out for a cleaner signal (more range) we'll see. I mostly am a slower flyer so your 6S test will be very interesting to me. Keep up the great work and well done on the video too which is also high quality.
I can't say I've noticed any issues with having the antenna out on the wing. I think it's important to keep the rest of the wing as clean as possible, embedding the electronics and putting on some tape to smooth over the routes. I have noticed the crossfire can really cause issues with GPS reception, so getting it out on the wing I think is important.
@@Caroline_Tyler Thanks for your response Caroline, I'm now looking to move mine too. I'm running ELRS which is a tiny RX so should be able to bury that in the wing easily.
Speed? well I'm hoping for 150kph+ but we will see. Wide open I would expect 4-5 minutes flight time :) but mixed flying 8 to 10 minutes. This is not being built to be a long range plane. My only worry is the ESC to be honest, it looks a little weedy so I have a TBS Lucid 12S 90A ESC ordered to replace it, should I be proved right.
Caroline looks like a great setup, looking forward to seeing your flight videos. Jeff in LA USA
I'm looking forward to it too, I hope the weather gives me a break.
Interesting idea there using a Dremel to melt the foam smooth - will have to try that!
Medium speed, hold it firm as it will want to grab and pull.
Nice and easy install, nice project. 👍🏻
This is my third Dolphin, so hopefully it will be the best??
Sone goid tips Caroline 👍
I hope it helps those who need it.

@ bonus then.
Lovely video, Hope you do a close up of how you wire up the 03 to the FC.
If that's what you want, sure!!! :)

Yes, tiny like the Crossfire nano!
Awesome ! With both batteries, how long of a flight time can you get out of it? And what speed are you going for? I want to build one also!
