These were rare when I was a train spotter in the early 1960’s. Most Express trains were hauled by Jubilant or Coronation Class locomotives. A very unusual curved blinker, as were the German blinkers on ex L.N.E.R. locomotives such as Oscar Wilde. Thanks for your video. 👍🏻🏴
I saw her at 16A Nottingham shed in in 1962- 1963 in a siding, un-coaled, dead and really worse for wear. I was 8 years old. It's so good to see her like this. 👍
@rogersharpe2490 you're right Roger. Even though i was very young, i can remember Hong Kong and Jellicoe at Nottingham shed. I can still visualise Hong Kong on the turntable inside the shed very clean and green for 1962. Somaliland was around also and took us to Trent Station on a local Nottingham to Derby service. My dad and my younger brother and myself used to watch all the express services coming and going not far from Redhill Tunnel.
@ They were good days Nigel . I saw 45611 Hong Kong as well , and because of that I bought a lovely Bachmann 00 guage model to keep as a static display.
@rogersharpe2490 Nice one Roger. The lovely condition that they kept her in can only mean that she was a very special locomotive. I'm chuffed that someone else obviously thinks so as well.

At the backend of the fifties , Nottingham 16A had two or three Scot’s , and usually six Jubilee’s that were my favourite locomotives.

You were lucky with the trains almost trying to obscure the loco!
Really nice shot this.. well done!
LMS Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ is a shaped version of Henry
I changed tube trains at Victoria yesterday, if only I’d known about this.
Extension to boiler ticket expires this year. So what the future plans for the engine is l don't know.
That music at the end - yeah, no. 👎
