These were rare when I was a train spotter in the early 1960’s. Most Express trains were hauled by Jubilant or Coronation Class locomotives. A very unusual curved blinker, as were the German blinkers on ex L.N.E.R. locomotives such as Oscar Wilde. Thanks for your video. 👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I saw her at 16A Nottingham shed in in 1962- 1963 in a siding, un-coaled, dead and really worse for wear. I was 8 years old. It's so good to see her like this. 👍

I must say that I always thought that the lining out was very gypsy looking, a solid green would have been better when you consider BR wanted a less old fashioned image by painting over the beautiful brass dome of the C class of the Southern region into black along with the rest of the engine why did they persist with this Romany lining out????

I had to watch over a minute of crap before I saw what the title i plied I was going to see.

Wow. As a kid brittania was the Holy Grail. Saw many 'Brits' but she evaded me - sort of glad as she would never have been in such immaculate condition in active service. What a beast and fab close ups. Many thanks

Canted track in Paddington station ? A sign of modern idiocy ! Canted track is not necessary where speeds are low (15mph max in & out of terminal tracks). Canting track costs more money, yet another sign of the stupidity of railways in Britain since BR's demise. And the cost comes out of the public purse. It also means that in the platform the Mk1 carriages are stopping in, the footsteps of the coaches are needlessly raised, increasing the dangers of passengers boarding or alighting. The risk of falling between the train & platform is therefore increased. Posted by an ex BR Engineer.
