Α dream that came true for me 15 years ago. To see Magna Grecia I visit many Greek villages in Bova marina area. I met Mimo..a divorced teacher who came back from Rome to his village Amygdalea. He was dreaming to help his people and his village to stay alive.. Amazing people they open their houses and when we was about to leave they was crying... You can easily see at their faces that they are some how Greeks ❤❤
As an Apulian i cen relate to what you wrote. I always feel very moved by this deep Greek roots we all feel. All the landscape and often times even the last names still speak of our Ancient Greek anciestry. We look very much alike. We even think and behave very similar. Queste non sono comunità derivate dalla Magna Grecia, bensì dalle emigrazioni di massa verso occidente dei popoli greci del nono secolo dopo Cristo. Anche io sto in una regione il cui capoluogo venne fondato dagli antichi ellenici, ma non c'è traccia di lingue grecofone, perchè non ci furono immigrazioni di massa successive. Queste non sono comunità derivate dalla Magna Grecia, bensì dalle emigrazioni di massa verso occidente dei popoli greci del nono secolo dopo Cristo.
Anche io sto in una regione il cui capoluogo venne fondato dagli antichi ellenici, ma non c'è traccia di lingue grecofone, perchè non ci furono immigrazioni di massa successive.

Sono di dubbio valore le interpretazioni degl storici,sopratutto,di quelli vissuti durante i tempi del fascismo(durante il quale il dialetto greco e stato proibito,)sulla vera provenienza dei popoli e il destino di tante colonie greche , da N(e)apoli ,citta soterranea greca parthenopea e in giu,...Io non credo certo che tutti(?!)i greci antichi sono stati massacrati( e non hanno piu generato)dai Romani e cartaginesi,ne che le immigrazioni sono avvenute da nord al sud.Molte personne ,pure ellenici, sono scappate da Peloponeso,per salvarsi la testa ,nel periodo bizantino ,visto che sono stati cacciati e massacrati (miglioni!)da cristiani imperatori e non,a causa dei loro dei,come es.Theodosio e Alaricho, ...poi ci sono stati anche quelli che dici tu..E le memmorie piano-piano svanivano,e si imponevano altre..
