So dope seeing a guy who drives their car actually building it too. Any rich dude can go to a shop and drop 200 grand and get a sick car but badasses build their own. Props Matt!
stefan samotulka yeah! and I'm glad he's bringing us along for the ride!
Mike Zeke Matt "the badass" field has a ring to it. Too bad FD wouldn't approve of the nickname.
To have that Much knowledge and experience... lol we would love to work for or intern for a bit!!
Hey, some people don't wrench due to various reasons and I'm one of em but I have immense respect for those who do, driver or not.
This is honestly one of the best drift build series on TH-cam imo. Very well detailed, entertaining, and overall it’s filmed very well.
Coming back and rewatching this series. Man I forgot how much I loved watching this come together.
Can’t wait to see final product
Great work and good to watch. FWIW, you don't power the car and alternator with the battery. You start the car with the battery and power the car with the alternator. Love that you're keeping it all metric - half the tools can stay in the garage toolchests!
You're a beast, Matt. Most drivers/racers arent this knowledgeable and capable of building their own cars. Kudos to you for diving right in and making your car your own. Will really help in the future if you ever need to fix or change anything. You're also using top quality parts, right down to your waterman fittings and lines.
I think i have a new favorite build to follow. Never been a corvette guy but i really like the style of how he's documenting everything and executing it. SUBSCRIBED!
Thus is the kind of person that inspires respect, you build it and drive ut??? WOW... great job.
That pull cable for the drivers door is from the trunk when the battery dies... ask me how i know LOL...
Gearhead Daily bro how you know
"Experience is the best teacher"
He showed the camera like ten times that piece.
I have no qlue what you are doing and have 0 knowledge of cars but somehow just watching you do your thing is pretty interesting
Great video! Love your step by step approach. Sooo much better than just a glazing over a build. Keep it up!
I love this build. Can't wait for it to have panels on it to see what it's gonna look like on the outside! Keep up the work, Matt.
When I saw this come up in the notifications, I cleared up my schedule to make sure I was #GoodToGo to watch it.
I like how Matt searches for parts for purpose. Noticed a trail gear battery box.
Can’t wait to see it at Long Beach!
im really excited how the corvette gonna turn out
thumbs up for "Kachunka switch"! - Added to technical term library!
Bring back the drift builds.
Not saying you should I love this channel but look into like how boostedboyz doesn't there build logs maybe he perfected how to make it interesting and still a build. mad props to the dude he really doing him self can't disrespect that
2:00 that second pull tab is in the trunk area. Was there to pop the door open if the battery is dead.
Loving the series man!!!!
Super informative stuff guys big thumbs up
SICK BUILD
This is an epically interesting series
reupload?
Yu
what's different?
Seems like a bunch of visual bugs were fixed. There was a bunch of visual glitches with the video on the first upload
i'm loving those videos
It's baked, never fried👌
Question, how do you wire up your isolator so that when you kill battery power, your alternator doesn't just keep the motor running/energized?
good question
TheCanadianBubba Seen it a lot at track days... Plus them cases where you have 2 cars and 1 battery. 😂
Guess the ignition and fuel would be cut ? so the alternator will not matter ? Have experience with isolators in RV's to keep the cranking batteries isolated from the house batteries so it must be doable. The whole idea of the kill switch is to have an official be able to cut the power externally in case of an emergency. Cant see the sanctioning body allowing anything but a positive diconnect.
Only thing I can think of is it depends on what side of the switch the alt is on. I'd think it have to be on battery side, cuz if it goes to Chassis side (where you would think it would go), you flip switch and sure the battery disconnects, but the alt still powers the car cuz its rotating making enough power to keep the car running...
Lookin sick.
Fablife ftw!
You gotta make a "Bulkheads" t-shirt.
Finally a longer episode! lol
Sickness!!
Breaking the positive terminal has to be safer than cutting grounds, especially considering crashes crumpling the car/making shorts
its tuesday again? thanks for keeping me on track!
Also, that release you welded to the cage should be for the hatch, not the driver's door.
So when you hit the spray the ecm has the fuel injectors increase flow ? dual flow injector sounds more problematic than fuel enrichment by a secondary set of injectors when triggered... no ?
This is the shop that illiminate went to
Told myself I'd wait till the car was done then if binge watch this. Buuuuuuuuuuut
