Had a first fight with brawler today as a charger. Had literally the most fun I had in this game. I felt like I found a brother I was separated in childhood
The characters are based on: • Vanguard: Salvador, Yuna, Floor of History. • Samurai: Bamboo-hatted Kim • Ranger: Angela using the E.G.O of Funeral of the Dead Butterflies. • Vigilante: Sayo, Gin, Yang, Floor of Literature, really the Kurokumo Clan in general. • Assassin: Yujin from the Shi Association. • Gunner: Stephan from the Full-Stop Office, The Thumb in the reload mechanics. • Brawler: Boris of the Thumb. • Charger: Rose from W Corp, and maybe the Cane Office in general. • Knight: Probably Walter of the Zwei.
Additional references: • Vanguard: Zwei with its M1 being named Law and Order and uses a Zweihander. Formely based on Sol. Has a stinger from Dante from DMC. • Ranger: DMC Style Meter. Her SP is based on Chain Revolver from Blazblue Central Fiction, primarily Noel Vermillion's special button/stance. • Vigilante: Its kick moves are a massive reference of Akiyama from the Yakuza Series. • Brawler: Clean Hit mechanic from Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +, primarily Sol's and Slayer's Clean Hit mechanics. Has Slayer's Pilebunker as his SP~M1. • Knight: As a solo entry character, Knight does not have a Project Moon character counterpart. He's based on a class from a closed-community roblox fighting game. This game is massively based on fighting games, particularly 2D Traditional Fighters like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear. A lot of the moves and mechanics characters have are based on Fighting Game character moves, that does not mean however that all of the game are references of fighting game characters. More like that the moves that the developer decided to adapt understand their strength and use them in another medium, as 2D Traditional Fighters are not completely the same as a 3D Roblox Fighter. This in conjunction to the Library of Ruina-esque theme and PMoon setting, the game is less like a 'Ruina Fighter' but instead an actual fighter but with Project Moon influences.
Fighting ranger in this game truly gives you the Xiao reception experience (getting solemn lamented before you can do anything substantial in the fight)
@@benj4845 its all about learning to footsies, spacing yourself and understanding the distance that your opponent can cover with their skills, while also counting their available light so you can adjust your strategies against them. I dont think ive ever had issues against any classes, even gunnee

The thing about the vigilante match up is that these classes can snipe from out of vigilante's range, have ways to beat his dash sp, with assassin being able to do this without any light. a competent vigilante will always lose to a competent assassin.
this guy summed up my feelings about brawler in less than a minute. clean hits are really hard to get, despite everyone saying "just figure out the range its easy", especially with how many you lose on taking damage, and how necessary they are to increase stun time and subsequently the length of your turn. for example, i took a 6 combo from a brawler once. the class itself demands perfection, and has an extremely high skill ceiling. it's nothing short of elitist gameplay, and if you have the skill for it you will literally never lose.
yeah you perfectly summarized what I felt like when learning the Brawler. It's the strongest class in the game in the right hands, but it's stupidly hard to learn and get good at

not so great fact The Fairies’ care was literally one of the most broken cards in the game. If you had charger, ranger, or gunner, you literally could not die due to how stupid it was. a 50% chance to get 10 of your hp back whenever you dropped a “combo” and you get this on EMOTION LEVEL ONE. they nerfed it so it’s only 5 hp back (which is good because you would never lose a single stock)
