Makes it easier for volunteers to remove from the summit.

I can't find the comments and conversation we had yesterday, gone for some reason?...Anyway, I got the bin out of the shelter today, and as you expected, it was used, which is fine when the council can get round to empty it, but they didn't managed...Maybe difficult to get the lorry up there... The really unfortunate thing was that the waste that was left behind was rancid, and most definitely a hazard to health (Mark nearly threw his guts up with the stench, and he has two tiny children!!!) It was useful to carry down the broken glass in though...Oh yeah, 115KGs of waste was removed today :)

But, it has taken 7 years to get this volume down. There was noticeably more in the shelter this year, and the whole plateau is now snowbound, so we didn't pick anything from there.
@@BatchyGaming , the whole shelter was full of the usual mess. The inside of it is always the same, sometimes people "tidy it up" by putting it all in a bag, and just leave it there, festering. All the bin did was add to the bulk and weight we had to carry down. The overall weight was down as the hill is definitely cleaner than it ever has been, and the snow cover made it impossible to search the plateau to clear the usual toilet/lunch stops.

We left at 3 in the morning hoping to reach summit for sunrise but sadly all we were greeted by was dense fog. Hope you enjoyed the amazing view though!
