Hey, everyone! This video was filmed before our baby was born. However, we wanted to release it to help educate women who have a marginal cord insertion on their placenta. Thankfully, our baby was born healthy at 8 pounds. Thanks for watching, and for more pregnancy vlog videos, click the link below.

all pregnant women who have a marginal cord insertion please read this: doctor told me I have a marginal cord insertion on my placenta in my 20th week ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that that the baby was too small and the doctor said they would have to monitor baby´s growth because it was measuring too small. So they called me for another ultrasound 1 month later (25th week). On my 25th week ultrasound appointment they checked for baby´s growth and measured everything again and my baby was measuring normal! baby went from too small to normal size/weight within 4 weeks! So now everything looks great. Im in my third trimester, still have the marginal cord insertion but the baby is doing good and measuring normal! So no need to stress out over this ladies! having this doesnt mean that your baby will not be healthy! please dont let google ruin your pregnancy joy!!!

I have marginal cord insertion, my OBGYN told me at 20weeks. I was very tariffed. I came to this website and it gave me a peace of mind reading all the comments. Now that I’m almost 38weeks, my baby is growing well and weighed 7lbs at 37 weeks. So please DO Not be scared. With God is will everything is going to be okey. Hope this will give someone peace of mind. Good Luck!!!!

I had my 20-week ultrasound in February, during which doctors found a possible case of marginal placental cord insertion. As this is my first pregnancy at age 27, I am unsure of what to expect. Today, at 28 weeks, I visited a doctor who confirmed that the baby's heart and belly measurements were good. However, I will need to undergo another ultrasound at 32 weeks, which is due in the next four weeks. This ultrasound will check the baby's growth, well-being, position, and confirm the cord insertion. As a first-time mom, I am hopeful that everything will go well and it will be a miracle. I wish all the mothers out there safe and healthy pregnancies. I am looking forward to the next scan and seeing what it has in store for me as I watch my baby grow despite some stress of googling.

Thank you for this video Nurse Sarah :) I was recently diagnosed with velamentous cord insertion, which is a little worse than marginal cord insertion as some of the blood vessels are not covered by wharton's jelly and the cord implants into the membranes of the placenta rather than the placenta itself. although this isnt completely the same, Google freaked me out even being a nurse myself. I am so thankful for this video, you have also helped me get through nursing school and I am just so thankful for you ❤

I actually had a velamentous cord insertion with my 2nd pregnancy and just found out I have a marginal cord insertion with this pregnancy (#4). I’m not really stressed about it since a velamentous cord insertion is supposed to be worse and I didn’t have any problems with it. In fact he has been my biggest baby so far. My babies just like cord problems I guess. We actually found a true knot in my 3rd babies cord after she was born, luckily it didn’t cause any problems either!

I've just been notified that I have it after my 23 week Ultrasound. My OB is going to schedule me for an U/S every 4 weeks and hopefully all goes well!! Reassuring I've heard read about more good stories than bad. But still a bit apprehensive about it being that I'm 43 yrs old and it's my first (and only) pregnancy.

  • @litolpebbles

I also found out at our 20 week ultrasound and have been an anxious mess. I don’t know if the choice was made due to covid restrictions but I will not have another ultrasound until I’m 32 weeks pregnant. I have been so frustrated by that decision and even more so after learning you had one every 4 weeks to monitor. I did advocate for more monitoring but was told a high risk doctor saw my 20 week ultrasound and didn’t recommend another one until 32 weeks. I am 28 weeks today and just messaged my OB asking for one sooner. Thanks for this video!

Just had my baby and they couldn’t detect it during my pregnancy but had to be induced because his heart rate was low sure enough he came out and they saw how his cord was placed this way and said that I’m was one of the reasons why he was getting low heart rate they didn’t even expect it because they told me he was a big baby and growing so well and he actually was only 6lbs one of my smallest baby’s and I have a feeling this was why eventho he was perfectly healthy i was happy they detected his heart rate when they did so you never know in pregnancy

Thank you so much for this video! So helpful and feeling much better now. I just found out today at my 20w anatomical that I have marginal cord insertion and started panicking while googling this out. At today's ultrasound baby was measuring 296 grams and everything is on track but my doctor mentioned that it could affect baby's growth later on and he wants to do an ultrasound at 32 and 36 weeks :( not as often as yours just every 4 weeks which I would for sure love that and wouldn't mind at all. Was your baby born via c-section or vaginal. I was told by another doctor to get a c-section for sure at 37 weeks max. at 38 weeks, but definitely not wait after 40 weeks because baby could be compromised and possibly have a stillbirth, .

I'm hearing from my ob that if it doesn't go back to the center, I'll have to have a c section; but my doctor who gives me my ultrasounds told me it won't go back to the center but more than likely won't have to have a c section. Should I prepare myself for a cesarean? I'm so scared lol
