Ben this quiz was fantastic fun. Well done. 55/70. I was born the year of our winning the World Cup 1966. The Rumble In The Jungle, I’m guessing, was in South Africa but my second guess would be Uganda. I’ve never liked the sport but Mohammed Ali certainly was a character. I remember a band called Middle Of The Road, they sang Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. I loved when my older sisters used to play their records, especially that one. Years later I used to sing it to my babies while rocking them to sleep. It was a good job they didn’t understand the words of it as it starts with ‘Where’s your mamma gone, (followed by) where’s your father gone? The stuff of nightmares just like Rock-a-bye Baby On The Tree Top😂😂
58/70 😊 My era. Hard to believe so much has changed since that time. (computers, cell phones, the internet) Rumble in the Jungle was a boxing match with Mohamed Ali. Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Birthday to President Kennedy. I think my parents had a black, wall mounted rotary phone well into the 90’s. I don’t think my parents ever got out of the ‘70’s. LOL 😆
Fun walk down memory lane -- thanks Ben... We remember no seat belts, roll down windows, standard transmission, no bucket seats, cigarette lighters (that you used for cigarettes!!), all the cars looked different and identifiable, spare tire, hood ornaments, white wall tires with tubes, no catalytic converter, need to get your car to the inspection station every year, regular door lock keys, no power steering, no tinted windows, had to open the hood and the gas cap by hand --- and your gas was always pumped by the gas station attendant (although in NJ you can still pump your gas I think). We watch your shows every day!
63/70. Not bad. I was born in the early 60's and am so happy knowing how much fun those times truly were. If I were to list the most incredible thing I remember .... FIRST: Without a doubt, the MUSIC. So much to choose from! GI Joe action figures. Bicycles with welded on front tire fork extensions, banana seats, and high chrome sissy bars. My beloved, and sorely missed, Lasonic Boom Box. THE MUSCLE CARS. My black friends and families with a beautifully groomed and shaped afro. The LOVE and FRIENDSHIP we all shared. Dare I say it?: Members Only sports jackets! Did I mention the MUSIC?? Ha! Far too much to list for sure! I had a blast doing this quiz! Thanks!
54/70 Hello,Ben. What a trip down memory lane! Thanks for this one. I'm not sure on the first ,but I'll guess Liberia? For the 2nd, JFK. And my favorite album, Night at the opera. I still have it, by the way. Have a great weekend! 🤗
Slide rules, tables of logarithms, Letraset transfers, nails and screws in cardboard boxes, bell-bottom jeans; I'm 82, thanks for the memories Ben, those were the good times! Favourite musicians and groups too many to mention: Dylan, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Amazing Blondel, Roy Harper, Fairport Convention, what a cornucopia!
I scored 55/70. Not too bad considering I wasn't born til '81 lol. Favorite 70s albums are: Quadrophenia, The Wall, LA Woman and Led Zeppelin IV. Another great quiz, thanks x
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Ben. I remember Woodstock, tie-dye t-shirts, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Marilyn Monroe singing Happy Birthday to John F Kennedy. and Watergate, the Beatles' 1st appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. I remember Elvis Presley's passing. I do remember car doors with ashtrays, I miss rotary phones. small side car windows that pushed open. I waited in long lines in 1973 for gasoline, and I got 66/70.😄👍
64/70 for Team Harlow on this Friday evening. We really enjoyed this quiz. "Oh no my son" said "I won't know much" but he surprised himself with quite a few correct answers. That's the beauty of quizzing. Cheers Ben ☺️.
I’m 76 and I remember when we had to tell the operator the number that we wanted and she would connect us, so a rotary phone for us was a really new gadget when they came out. 😊
Zaire (Democratic Republic of the Congo) is where that fight was held. MM sang to JF Kennedy. They soft landed on Mars?? I missed 1 today. I missed #41 about Pinochet...didn't have a clue...LOL. I know now! Great quiz and had fun taking it, Thanks, Ben for all you do to give us such great quizzes EVERY time. You are appriciated ! 👍😊 🤔
59/70. Nailed both bonuses... My favorite album of the era was Carpenters - Song For You. Or maybe Carpenters Greatest Hits 69-73... Anyway, not anything by any other act of the era....
I was born in 1960. I actually remember most of these. Got 67/70 missed pong. Thought is was tennis. Zaire, JFK. I miss my mum and dad. Wish I had them back. Nice quiz Ben.
Rumble in the jungle was in Kinshasa Zaire, the president was Kennedy I think the planet was Mars, my favourite album was Ziggy stardust/ hunky dory . I scored 65/70 without the bonuses, thanks again Ben very enjoyable looking forward to the next one 👍👍😁🏴
Hi. Correct in two bonuses, but the planet was Venus. Still a great overall score. 😁 Just finished researching for the next quiz. It will be out in two weeks time. 😁
Great quiz, thanks Ben. 67/70 bonuses Zaire, JFK, Venus. I must be old :( I watched the Rumble, between Ali and Foreman - amazingly it was broadcast live on the BBC, would never happen now. Also a genuine fight between the 2 best heavyweights on the planet - something else that is unlikely to happen now.
Quizzes4U always has great quizzes which are well-timed between question & answer!! Always lots of fun. I remember rotary phones mounted on walls, and car doors with not only built-in ashtrays but also thick, clear, plastic seat covers, push button transmissions, small, crank-open side windows and semi-circle metal horn activators on the steering wheel! Thanks Ben! Great job as usual! :) Paul
Bonus 1... The fight took place in Kinshasa, in the country known as Zaire... Now it is the Democratic Republic of Kongo... Bonus 2... John F. Kennedy... My favorite 70s album are Exile on Main St. (The Rolling Stones) Got 67/70...
My husband and I took this quiz together, and we got 71/70, because we knew that Marilyn Monroe sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to JFK! This quiz was SO much fun! And yes, that is a BEAUTIFUL Ford Mustang! Perhaps you could do a '50s quiz and also an '80s quiz!
It's great to hear you had fun playing this quiz. I have an 80s quiz on my channel and some that include the 50s. Check them out, I'm sure you will enjoy them. Thanks for commenting 😁
57/70, not too bad, birthday song is JFK, favorite 70’s album, hard one this but I will for Wish you were here, Pink Floyd. The boxing one was a jungle somewhere I think, rumble in the jungle? Thanks for a great quiz.
I got through 4 yrs of college doing calculations with a slide rule, & banging out reports on a clackity-clack manual typewriter. I installed a cassette deck into my 1st car even though 8-tracks were all the rage, and had a black & white TV until well into the 70s - too poor to afford (or justify) color until then. I started collecting LPs, which are now collecting dust. AM radio - is that still a thing? Rotary phones, photographic film, mainframe computers. I still drive a stick shift, though - more fun, IMMHO.
It was slightly before my time (i was in elementary and jr high in the 70s) but I got a 58. But the ones I got correct were ones I didn't need to wait for multiple choice! Great quiz (again)!
66/70 with the options; 57/70 without. Q13 bonus is Zaire (as it was then), Q28 bonus is John F. Kennedy, and I think the Q51 bonus is Venus but I might be wrong.
54 out of 70 , not bad for being born in 1973. I admit a few were guesses like I remembered seeing a photo of Raquel Welch dressed like a cave woman once or twice but I never heard of the movie.
You mentioned ashtrays in cars. Remember ashtrays in planes and the whole fuselage stank. Also, while drive-ins still exist, barely, we used to go to so many back then.
Yes, I remember the smoking section on planes, it was separated by a small curtain 🤣 which did nothing. I was once on a flight from Poland and everyone on the plane was smoking the whole flight. It was like fog.
Nice one. I remember those metal roller skates with straps and they could be adjusted underneath 🤣 I can still remember the noise they made, they didn't roll as much as scrape down the road 🤣
Ok so I got 64\70. A couple was me not thinking as I knew the answer. The Rumble in the Jungle was in Kinshasa in Zaire. Monroe sang happy birthday to JFK. and she didn’t say birthday day she sang “birfday” I reckon the planet was Venus. Favourite 70’s album. Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Still one of my all time favourite things to do is to listen to the entire thing, start to finish, as it should be listened to. Not only do I remember dial up phones but the total embarrassment as my first attempts at flirting with boys on a phone was done in the hall right next to an open plan lounge area. No privacy whatsoever. My friends had a really long cord on their phone so she could sit in the bottom of the hall cupboard. I had no such luck.
Thanks for sharing your memories. I remember waiting until everyone had gone out of the house before making calls. 🤣 Not everything was better in the old days.
