    I love that you played the clips from the episode muted with the sound of nature from what you were filming playing over it. Really lets the moment sink in.

    Talking Sopranos Podcast will be discussing this episode in 2 weeks. It was directed by Steve Buscemi.

    This was the best video of its type I've ever seen on TH-cam. All you had were a bunch of trees but you found the exact spots the boys stood in all those years ago. I always wondered why Chris and Paulie never used the obvious lake behind them to orient themselves, maybe it was a subtle nod at how dumb they really were.

    I thought I was the only person that loves to play the match game! I find locations on google earth and use the street view to see how much the locations have changed! Very nice my friend. There’s an episode from the second season where Bobbie meets Tony in a parking lot and gives him an envelope, in the background you see a Sunoco gas station and a motel; “The Lincoln Motel” I found it yesterday. It’s 430 Broad St. Newark NJ. the hotel is no longer there but the gas station is but under a different company 😎

    • @josecuervo1747
      @josecuervo1747 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. The Pine Barrens are flat, the soil is sandy, and they are full of scrubby pine and cedar trees. There aren’t the tree leaves you see all over the ground in this episode.

    • @johnvalencia9927
      @johnvalencia9927 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josecuervo1747 I lived in Wildwood new Jersey from 2006-2008 and I went to the pine barrens often enough. When i finally saw this episode in 2009 I kept wondering why it looked so different. I just assumed they went to a part of the pine barrens I never did, because yes, they're the saddest woods ever.

    unless i miss my guess , this area was already notable for being the Cedar pond campsite of Wm T. Howell and friends back in 1910. Tiorati was called Cedar ponds back then. I like that other people get all nerdy behind this stuff. I'm always out in the woods doing in depth, crazy shit like this. To me, it's very interesting. Thanks. Great work.

    That's actually the only Sopranos episode I've ever seen. It was a lot of fun to watch. Another interesting one to look for locations would be the Jersey Devil episode of the X-Files. I believe that was filmed in British Columbia, Canada. They also changed the legend.

    It should go without saying, but nevertheless I find it interesting how the different lenses completely change the depth of field of the show. Christophuh and Paulie look so much further away than in reality.
    I'm sure you must have enjoyed standing in the exact places of filming. I got tingles just thinking about it haha!
    How far did filming the various scenes take place from the parking lot you mentioned at the beginning? I was also sure that they'd shoot scenes from different angles!

    • @NickP
      @NickP  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will try to get exact coordinates by gps.. I do explain in video how to go. It's not too difficult once there. Let me see if I can locate exact coordinates for you

    • @NickP
      @NickP  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (41.2944938, -74.0549688) walk up from these coordinates to (41.2950573, -74.0551157) these coordinates. .. roughly around there, you should be able see most of them pretty quickly.
      Now where Tony and Bobby find them is around (41.2947163, -74.0533156) this area, hard to tell from overhead.
      Happy hunting!

      Right, it’s not the real location in Jersey.

    Not bad, but an impossible thing to prove.
    Firstly, it was snowing and it was 20 years earlier. Nice try, but without man made buildings or landmarks, you can't be sure, trees look the same the world over!

    not fer nuthin , but how stupid is the audience that never, not once , have i heard ONE person say "but there aren't any pine trees ; it's not the Pine Barrens " etc . These are mostly deciduous woods , lots of oaks. Nary a pine in sight. For people who know , this place (though very beautiful) looks NOTHING like the actual pine barrens. Like, who the hell do they think they're fooling ? DUH

    You would be an awesome director to a movie how you explain it. Great job how you put all this together with the shots from the tv show.
