what i notice from pro's since akuma launch day, is that they do short but good confirms for good damage instead of extending the combos into something flashy. i gotta take down these notes
I've been doing that, but by accident lol. I wonder if it's an input error or if he actually does it that way. It is a clever way of setting up demon. I need to practice it more
Are you talking about his super? Because yeah, you can combo into it. Easiest way is out of qcb light punch. The other ways are a bit harder though. I've combo'ed into it off a jab before.
Im confused as to why every akuma ive seen here uses crouch hk rather than hp dp after lk tatsu (dp does more damage no?) edit: thanks for the replies guys, I kinda get it now
It just depends on the situation and if u need or want more damage you go for dp and if u want better oki you go for sweep because then u get better setups and mixups and safe jump ins while still applying more pressure where as you’ll be back to neutral or just in a bad spot and have to work your way back in and pressure and risk getting caught and etc it’s a lot that goes into the decision but the concept is simple.
There's very little reason to use HP DP after tatsu in this game. Midscreen, you'd rather do sweep for the guaranteed pressure after (hp dp leaves you very far away). In the corner, you'd also rather do sweep cause you get a safe jump off it, which is the best scenario to continue your pressure. If you want max damage in the corner, HK tatsu does more damage than HP dp. If you want to combo into level 3, LP dp is better because it does all its damage in one hit, rather than using HP dp and canceling the first hit
It's for mix up. You have more options after a hard knockdown sweep. You move in close for a throw, or you can shimmy once your opponent tries to read your throw. If they whiff then you get a combo. Helps put you in advantage in the chess game that is street fighter.
Damn I am just done fighting akuma in this game every single game with same character and ppl just abusing special powers like they think doing special will make them win
Well, the character came out like 3 days ago and is by far the most anticipated out of all the DLC characters. Of course you'll see him a lot this week
I am totally okay with watching that Demon CA for 8 more years

This is true about pro players with every character. Unless the long flashy combo kills round 2 (or round 1 without super, some will spend super 1)
Demon Bird unleashed
Time for the Black Chocobo to appear.
Run into Demon ... inescapable setup
Angrybird just casually finishing another top professional with Raging Demon like nbd

Had no idea you Could demon special out of a combo. Best akuma there is.

Sweep ender gives a safe jump. DP also whiffs at certain ranges
