A "date" doesn't necessarily meant that the man has to pay. Men will "hang out" with a woman regularly for weeks and then balk at calling it a "date". As a woman, this is a huge turn off. He'd be a no. We just want to be treated like a person. My husband and I even before dating and during dating would text almost constantly for 12 hours a day. That's how you get to know someone if you have the same interests and are compatible before you hang out. Whe my long term boyfriend first asked me out i said no bc of trust issues i had due to past traumas. He just said "ok well i would still like to be your friend if thats ok" and we were just close friends for about 2 years after that and he NEVER pushed for more or asked me out again and respected my boundaries. The thing that made me more interested in my husband than other guys when we first started seeing each other was the fact that he didn’t play any of these games and wasn’t weird about texting me back or trying to seem a certain type of way. We just want to be treated like a person. My husband and I even before dating and during dating would text almost constantly for 12 hours a day. That's how you get to know someone if you have the same interests and are compatible before you hang out. If a woman is not showing up for things either 1) she nervous and rather run or 2) you creeped her out and doesn't know how to tell you or 3) she's legit busy.

Whe my long term boyfriend first asked me out i said no bc of trust issues i had due to past traumas. He just said "ok well i would still like to be your friend if thats ok" and we were just close friends for about 2 years after that and he NEVER pushed for more or asked me out again and respected my boundaries. He proved he was a good and trustworthy man who i eventually fell hard for. i eventually asked him out and he gladly accepted and almost a decade later we are still happily together and have 2 fur babies.
