Fantastic information; I wish I would have had this when I was first learning. I still remember that lightbulb moment when I realized the shapes were moveable 😂 after I had been playing for like two years. Great video, subbed

Hey Man, loving the channel. I’m a long time rock/blues electric guitarist who is trying to get into bluegrass and learn some new instruments. Can you tell me how important it is to anchor your ring and pinky to the banjo head. It feels more natural to not anchor at all but I’m trying to not make bad habits. Thanks in advance, and thanks for the content!

its really a feel thing... I have seen players play without anchoring. But i would suggest anchoring one or both in the beginning. i personally only anchor my ring finger and it is barely touching the head of the banjo

Hey man do you have any videos on rolls or some rolls to practice? I'm going to practice this 1st though. Thanks!

D shape on 5th fret is F chord.

If you start from the top… (index finger) I always go from the bottom (ring and pinky)

So even if they’re different chords from those (F and G i think you played) this still applies? I need to have a look at a chart

Yes. It’s the f and d chord shapes. They are both movable chord shapes.
