There has never been crossings of hundreds and thousands of people a day. Republicans have been vocal about the issue of border security, fentanyl and focusing on individuals crossing the border who might bring with them potential criminal activity, while criticizing Biden's handling of the situation. Yet a very comprehensive border bill was drafted, the likes we will probably never see again and because Republicans didn’t get every single concession they wanted, and in order to help Trump’s reelection campaign they will leave the border unsecured and Americans vulnerable to whoever crosses it.

Why do Republicans pretend that this decades old problem just started 3 years ago. If you taught that just because Fox didn't run a piece on the border every 15 minutes that there was no problem under Trump, you'd be completely wrong.
It was the Trump administration that tightened sanctions on Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, exacerbating the macroeconomic crises that have led hundreds of thousands to flee and arrive at the southern border. When they pulled the rug out from various, essential assistance programs, they made the problem worse.
But our immigration system has been broken for many decades - long before Joe Biden or Donald Trump took the oath of office. Time and again, Democrats have proposed solutions to fix the immigration system in a reasonable, humane way. And time and again, Republicans have opposed these efforts at every turn.
He DELIBERATELY DESTROYING AMERICA.
Biden created some of the problem but the issue is bigger than that. The economies of other countries have collapsed. This lead to a higher number of migrants looking for refuge in our country , several European counties, Mexico and other places.
This administration’s multifaceted plan was to create a solution, not just put a bandaid on the problem. This included negotiations with other countries to be more actively involved with the immigration problem (before it gets to our southern border). The next part was addressed in the bi-partisan bill that the speak of the house will NOT bring to the floor for a vote despite its likeliness to pass.
The bill mitigate the migrant problem at our border AND adds technologies to the major crossings that would identify fentanyl and truckloads of people.
The house speaker needs to bring this bill to the floor. This bill not only had support by Republicans in both houses but was endorsed by the border patrol council.

Is that something Ronaldus Maximus learned before or after killing small rural towns across the SW, and it can be argued even his own beautiful state of CA, with his "one time" Amnesty?
I lived what that Amnesty did to small rural towns across the whole state of TX. Our schools were overrun with non-English speaking students. My children who were ready to go into high school had their public education curriculum redesigned, which effectively stopped challenging English speakers while the public schools devoted all effort to bring non-speakers up to speed. None of us realized at the time how our children would suffer for yrs to overcome this boondoggle. They spent their first yrs of college being educated in subjects that had been skipped over. They hadn't studied literature, geography, civics, world history, geometry and many other subjects that we mid-sixties high school grads had before attending college.
Our county lost our hospital. Oh, it's still there, but no babies are born in this county because too many "amnesty-seekers" were using their services w/o paying. Now our hospital is where you're taken to receive first aid and prep for the ride to a regional hospital an hour trip away by ambulance and 30 min by chopper.
By the time my children graduated high school our town had totally changed from a social structure of self reliance and respect for hard work to achieve goals, to a community overburdened by an equal number of people who were always looking for ways property owners could make their lives better. We were expected to provide their children with all the things our own offspring had worked hard for. For instance, kids who had done all kinds of summer chores to purchase a musical instrument to be able to participate in band saw their new classmates having instruments purchased by the school rented to them. Now how long do you think it took for immigrants to figure out the instrument was not taken away if the rental payment wasn't paid?
Jr high and high school girls chosen by the student body to be football cheerleaders had always worked to make money to buy their cheerleading outfits. They had bake sales, pancake suppers, some girls sought odd jobs from elderly homeowners and others to make money for this cause. But once the immigrant's daughters began being elected to serve on the cheerleading squad suddenly there was an uproar for the school to pay for head to toe apparel. Just one outfit wasn't enough, they needed three - including a heavy coat for cold temps, headwear, earmuffs, socks, and shoes. Not only this, but everyone who joined the pepsquad had a sweater and white blouse furnished. This isn't even half of the ridiculous extremes we went through to welcome these children, who certainly suffered no discrimination.
The English language issue we expected to last only a cpl yrs went on for a decade, drawing funding away from other curriculum. It was as if the burden of running two tracks of curriculum was impossible so the children of local property owners of families who'd been educating their children in this community for almost a hundred yrs, were set to pause while the new kids had intensive training in English - only to drop out of school after 9th grade to get married and/or get a job to help support their family.
Yes, I'm bitter. My town's culture was destroyed in a thousand ways when after a few yrs many began to realize how poorly their English-first language children were being educated. Those who left first were families of teacher-mothers who saw first hand that the local school's curriculum was being altered to graduate students who were educated at an eighth grade level. They had to get their kids out for them to have a chance to experience the normal challenges of education at its best.
Once the teacher-mom, farmer-dads began their exodus it was a contest to see who had left town by the next fall. One to four farm families became dad-commuter families raising children that completely missed out on the routines of farm life. These children missed the pleasures of having lunch with their dad every day all summer and on weekends. Their time away from school was managed by a suburban mom with an overloaded day-planner no different that children whose fathers were white collar cubicle dwellers, over-focusing on sports, golf and other hobbies.
By 1990 many classes were down to one kid who's family spoke English at home.
