Part of the reason why I almost never watch music videos, put them on, turn it up and walk away and listen to the music.
a tip: watch movies on flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

Saw them live at a music's fest one year they randomly played This whole set and I had no clue it was dark side till about 6 mins in when "time" hit. I was in awe. Such amazing music. Not a word from the band just like this, they just came out and played this. A Great introduction to them.

Just when you think the camera work can’t get any worse you hit about 5:40 and all hell breaks loose
I came here to vibe to this sick performance, now I can't stop laughing at the editing of this video, christ what a trip.
The switching at 5:40 doesn’t bother me because it kind of goes with the music but the rest of the video’s shots and camera angles are not very good.

Man, what a performance! Hopefully whomever did the video editing got a few fast, hard heels to the temple, but the Lips never disappoint.

i think youre supposed to play it at the same time as dark side. thats what im doing and it sounds really good. syncs perfectly. i think theyre probably listening to it in the headphones and embellishing the album

I know I'm a tad late to the party but, yes, Flaming Lips designed this album to be a companion piece to Dark Side. They're supposed to be played together.
Some of it works once set to a good balance between the two. Some of it doesn't, ESPECIALLY all the squealing that Wayne is doing on Us and Them. I MUCH prefer listening to their proper cover of DSotM or the live cover of Lucifer Sam from Reading 96!
I love Pink Floyd, but I also love Flaming Lips, and don't think comparison needs to be made. Both greats of psychedelic music, and it's obvious they're huge Floyd Fans, doing an experimental tribute to an experimental band.
I've said it this way, the Flaming Lips sound nothing like Pink Floyd, yet their music contains elements the Floyd used many times. It's a great combination. I prefer the original material the Lips have put out.
This was Wayne's trip. Some people get it, some don't. It's all music any way.
If you like Pink Floyd I don't understand how you cannot like this. Unless you are one of those guys that only likes Dark Side and vomits at the site of Syd Barrett.

I totally agree with you. I fucking love the Flaming Lips and I fell in love with them even more when I listened to this for the first time, I was blown away and ordered it on vinyl.

The cameras are fine, it's the switcher guy who's fucking awful.
The camera edits are intended to help with syncing the video to the Dark Side Of The Moon record.
The image transitions are designed to pair with hallucinogens i think.

Too many ppl bitching about the editing; it should just be about the music. Dont like the video? Then minimize the screen and just listen, see if the music still carries the same effect

The number of people who can't apparently listen to the music because the visual editing isn't so great is hilarious.
I think the editing was an attempt to emulate early "music videos" with cross dissolves between shots, and then quicker jump cuts during chaotic and active passages, as I have seen with some early Pink Floyd videos, but the shots are changed too rapidly in the slower sections in my opinion.

With all due respect, as I am grateful for the upload, this video editing is the worst. How are you supposed to zone out to the music when it does these sharp angle changes every 2 seconds? But, still thanks for the upload...

I know what it's "supposed" to be I love Pink Floyd (mainly Wish you were here never really liked Dark side of the moon as much) but this is, in a word, noise.

The thing about noisy music is that its too complicated for anyone to always understand anything that is happening so the way one should listen to it is just listening and not judging just experiencing what is happening.
a lot of avant-garde music is based in the idea of Zen try reading into it if you want to.

That was one of the world performances i have ever seen. It was like watching a group of marginal highschool musicians play together for the first time and occasionally hit on a Floyd riff. Just awful
