I just fired this one and the r29 back to back at a 20 yard target. Both are fast as holy shit. That being said the “recoil” of the r26 was less. Slightly but i could tell a difference. I absolutely loved the size of it though. I have been debating between this one, the r29, and Tenpoint viper s400 and tenpoint vengent s440. I like the cocking on the tenpoint much more but i like virtually everything else about the Ravin’s more. Update: Not that anyone asked but....after weighing the pros and cons i opted for the R26 and ordered it.
@@dt4629 i am 100% happy with the R26. I actually harvested my first deer with it today 9/13/2021. The small compact size really makes it easy to use inside a blind. The power is ridiculous!!!!
Great job on this review! I think the most impressive modification on the R 26 is the fact that the scope mount is now fully secured, front and back! Even on the R 29's they are cantilevered and stick way out unsupported! BTW, Bass Pro and Cabela's are featuring them now at $500 off so around $1599, which is quite a deal!
You would think for a high end crossbow they would have gotten rid of that clicking noise on the crank when cranking. Excalibur and tenpoint have done it already and a cheaper crossbow.
10 months later I know... I'm researching this because I found one for sale used. Apparently you can hold the button in the back while cranking and that allows you to crank silently.
I have hunted with one a friend loaned me .loved it nothing better lighter faster or more expensive either lol. The only thing i HATE about it is the loud clicking of the crank system if u miss u can forget a second shot . Sounds like playing cards in a bicycle wheel ... wish they would fix this otherwise its an amazing bow
I Plan to buy this bow. Some things I've noticed and I'm sure the deer will are the flashy metal pieces... Marker would fix this but then there's smell factor. Any suggestions? And the rollers... The one looks to have a hanger off it and it's brand new. Are they replaceable? what kind of manufacture warranty comes with this bow?
You can't shoot it upside-down or the arrow will fall off, right? You know freak things happen during hunting 🤷🤷♂️🤷♀️ arrow is not really secured on its track, it's just sitting there......
If I'm in prone position aiming at my target and I rotate my body either to the left or right (like pistol/rifle shooting competition scenarios) I'll be in supine position. I'm just thinking worst scenario.... I honestly love your product, it's just very expensive $$$$
@@blythemajors9193 absolutely wonderful crossbow. I wouldn't recommend the price jump to the 2020 model anyway! Only advantage is silent crank. The Xtra speed is useless going that fast anyway!
@@hunterdemmon3916 where have you seen the new specs for the new R26? I was on the Ravin website a couple weeks back and there wasn't a newer version then. I'm not really worried about silent clocking as you can press the button and crank silent if you really wanted to I guess.
I don't believe they came out with a newer R26, just the R29X and R29X Sniper. Goes off of R20 sniper. So basically silent crank and speed are only main difference. And 3 inches longer than yours. You get best bang for buck
340 pound draw weight on that thing is insanely STUPID. With that weight, that little string and TINY cables plus only 400 grain arrows......no wonder they're having issues with strings, cables, and limbs.

You can draw back the crossbow without the clicking noise by depressing the thumb button at the base of the stock

Hold the button for silent caulk . New 29,29x silent all the time
@@timgoslin3653 you can depress the button to make it silent but if the cocking handle slips off say goodbye to your bow.
Do your research firs, it has silent cooking system
I would say if you can’t afford 26 the r-10 is 1300.00
Longer but shoots the same
Sir,may I know the price of this crossbow
very, very, very sweet crossbow this is definitely the one I want to buy
The BERETTA of Crossbows.
Is it something you would recommend for use against zombies or would the bolt just go through their heads?

Taking one mule deer hunting but not sure what broadheads to use. Any suggestions?
Rage Xtreme broadheads are good. And rated for crossbows shooting over 300fps.
Thorn crossbow broadheads are the only way to go
Iron Will, 150 Buff. Check them out on youtube
Guys do the barnett hyperghost 405.some ppl can't afford 2000 dollar crossbow or want to.
