- In this video we put a 212 non-hemi head on a 212 hemi bottom end! If you do this make sure the push rods stay with the head they came with for example non hemi push rods stay with non hemi head.

When setting the valve , silly simple but you can always check to make sure the next size up doesn't fit once done to verify it's right. My father burned alot of mechanical stuff my head growing up lol
That is a good tip! Alot of people set lash different some go for zero lash cold some set at .003 like I did in the video and I haven't seen many if any but they might set it to what the 212 manual says which is .004-.006 on the intake and .006-.008 on exhaust. So if you get a .003 with drag and double check after a few rotations it should be ok..

I'm trying to figure out a rocker setup on my hemi bottom end non hemi head swap...u got some china champions off Amazon and looks like they need lash caps but lash caps don't work on my ss valves...
I put this non hemi head on with stock non hemi rockers and push rods. Since I've done this I have built a 224 with ss valves they came with billet spring retainers and automotive style locks and lash caps.
you need stronger springs lol, or your a beast of a man... neither i am certain of lol
Man this was awhile ago. I would imagine without watching the video again these engines are stock with governors intact. So they would have the stock springs in them.

Good stuff here. A lot of guys like the hemi head and that's all good. But I'll take the legacy head with Champion rockers over the hemi head.
How does it feel? Getting more torque from higher compression?
