I struggled a lot with this game's controls and how hard it is to click on enemies who are moving - A for attackmoving is a thing in the game, they mow down every enemy on their go. (also in my experience archers are fantastic against buildings, they are better to be mixed with a pikeman frontline than granadiers when you want to take down buildings as a priority)

I use to play 1 vs 6 very hard. The game becomes easy as soon as you figure out peasant production as fast as possible is key. 500-700 peasants was common for a single game. 18th century within the first 5-7 minutes. All wood, stone and food production upgrades is priority.

I had to set compatibility mode (windows xp sp 3) and 8 bit colours for dmcr.exe (..\Cossacks Back to War\bin). Since then I can play hours without any issue.
Yea, the Victory ship is what you were talking about at the end. First you need to upgrade the speed of ships, and then you are able to upgrade your Ship Of The Line. And its crazy as fuck. The ultimate weapon.
Hmmm... Why do you only upgrade one gold mine? does it have any bonus when you put more workers in one mine? Otherwise you could just upgrade other gold mines for better capacity with cheaper price. Other than that everything was ok
very hard AI? i wonder what game i was playing back in the day against what kind of AI difficulty.... even with a friend we didn't manage to stop a single hardest AI on island maps in this game. while we both only produced ships to destroy the enemies transport ships, the ai was still able to overcome us at a certain point and spearwalled us to death. it was a ridiculous game. on land - not winable without cheats.
What's the difference between european wars and back to war? I had european wars demo back in the day and later got cossacks back to war on CD and I couldn't tell the difference or I was just too young since I was like 7-9 at the time
You have to defend towers and yes you can capture them also..... if he does not defend them. I still like this better than Cossacks 3.....Plays better to me.
@@6StimuL84 I had Divided Nations too but it was way too cut down (ex: diversity of buildings, units from factions, etc.) compared to American Conquest and it's expansion Fight Back. All these 3 are in some way a reskin of Cossacks, though.

It depends on your PC it seems, not on OS. It doesn't run on my lenovo b590 but it did run on an older asus laptop flawlessly, both times under win 10.

They seem to have nerfed the AI difficulty in back to war. You played cosacks european wars i guess.
