This all reminds me of when I was in 5th grade. We had a new music teacher and he actually had us film a movie, low budget, obviously, but it was super fun! We all had a small part in writing it and picked out names for the characters before they got casted. I vividly remember contributing, I drew some little comics and showed the teacher, which he ended using as a storyboard, skipping recess to help paint the set and made a prop out of cardboard. We would film throughout the school. I remember how awkward it was when I played the teacher in our film because the whole class was staring at me or the time when we filmed most of the school in the cafeteria and it was eerily silent besides the little bit of talking coming from the protagonist where I was a background character with my back facing the camera, or in the hallway where we had to be zombies. It was all a memorable experience, and it taught me a lot about how movies are made. It also felt great seeing kindergarteners recognize me as the teacher from the film, I really felt like an actor. I just wished my parents were able to buy one of the disc copies cause I don't fully remember what the plot was, lol.

How did you get started? I kinda wanna start acting but idk where to start
@@kiwicakes3272i’m no actress but im guessing you should start by trying to audition for many commercials and be background characters , once you have a few commercials down and stuff you could probably write that in as experience, which you can start auditioning for roles with, idk fs tho bc i’m not one lol
@@kiwicakes3272 hey :) You have to look for a background agency in your city and i suggest taking headshots photos and then apply :)
I can agree with this video. It is super awkward especially when your partner is somebody you do not know or have just met. I do act in class as well so yeah.
Y’all I did my first gig as an extra
All I can say is THIS IS SO TRUE
Cos instead of Normally talking
We had to do lipsync 😂😂😂😂
dude that discord notification sound effect made me so confused💀💀
It got me to.
He's farming views. You get confused and end up watching the video again once or twice to figure out where the sound came from.

@@Schild3nte damn thats smart
@@Schild3nte well it worked on me 😭
As an extra it is extremely awkward but rewarding because you make friends
Edit: MOM I AM FAMOUS!
You know when I was younger, I always wanted to work as an extra for these shows and movies. It seems fun to dress up and all but not have too much pressure on you. You're so lucky.
The best thing is the catering, depends on the production the food is usually good, the worse is there’s a lot of waiting.
money* is what they’re making lol
@@viktorcheng2061 waiting is the absolute worst.😭 I remember we were filming using certain group at a time so we had to wait until our group was called. It could literally be hours between each group. But at least we could stay in the holding area and talk.
it’s just 1000 likes, i guarantee nobody will give two shits in a week about your comment, no, your not famous.😊
This is so true. Being an extra on TV ruined TV for me 😅
“Im going to throw up then explode and die then be a zombie and then die again “

My boyfriend, who was a background actor in some shows, told me how awkward it was sometimes bc you can’t talk but you have to make it look like you are. 😂
With people you just met 😭 which is even more awkward
That’s where “Peas and carrots” comes in handy 😅 and then eventually after hours of the same scene, I’m just mouthing random sentences haha
I was in a background crew as a kid, we just used to whisper and talk about our daily lives, it was chill.
@@MartieFayelol my theater teacher said “watermelon and carrots”

Me as a theater kid:
👁👄👁it’s not awkward-
I can confirm as a background actor that it is EXTREMELY quiet on set and is hella awkward 😭😭😭
I worked as background actor on a Netflix show and this is SOOO TRUE!! No one is allowed to even whisper, we would mouth conversations and sometimes not even understand each other just pretend we do so it looks natural. And even filming a small 30 second scene can take hours
really? wow. what show/movie?
@@mymixedbiscuit9159 it’s a sequel to the movie “Cindy la regia”, this one is out in December, the og came out in like 2020

“I’m gonna throw up and explode and die and resurrected as a zombie then die again” lol got my dying 😂
im in videography at my high school and THIS! bro its always so awkward tying to film, especially when we have a whole lot of people involved
staying in character is so mesmerizing to watch but when the director yells “cut” and there’s usually a noise then that’s when everyone is allowed to speak and actually talk to each other and share giggles and laughs.
Youre still not allowed to speak after a cut.
@@aprilapeysthat’s false for the most part. Bar a really emotional scene, everyone on the crew has to talk to complete their jobs.

@@iBlaster boy what
i thought it was my pc and checked so many times :,)
wait where was it
This all reminds me of when I was in 5th grade. I just wished my parents were able to buy one of the disc copies cause I don't fully remember what the plot was, lol.
this is so freaking accurate!!! you get great at laughing silently.
As a background actor for a year and worked on 10 to 15 projects and even having multiple parts on some of the same projects, I cab confirm all of this. Even if a background whispers the scene has to be shot again and everyone gets a small lecture

As a stage actor this is basically exactly what happens, it's just nobody records it up close to reveal it. As soon as I get backstage I instantly break character. Silently, of course. I've mastered the art of silent laughing and mouthing and reading lips.
For me, it was always so hard not to crack in comedic shows. Didn't matter that I heard the same joke 50 million times; it still was amusing to me
Same lmao
same i love looking back at the past school plays i've been in just for the backstage and onstage memories

I used to do acting in adds when u was younger and I can confirm, acting is the most awkward thing ever
Whenever I'm watching a show I can't help but think about how awkward and embarrassing it would have been for the actors/actresses 😭 Or on how they could be so confident it's impressive
Please omg me too that's why I usually never take things seriously unless the acting is too good that I'm too focused on the story 😭

how do you get background rolls?
Whenever you see a party scene in a club, with people talking, just know it was probably super quiet (unless they ADR-ed the audio in - aka rerecording the dialogue after to match the lips)
Omg when i saw the scene from ginny and georgia i internally screamed 😅 I love that series sm
Maxine from Ginny and Georgia 😭😭
U can see Ginny too, in the class room😭😭

Ginny’s actor having to be mad every time she gets on set 😍😍
My theatre director always told me: If you don’t want to giggle yourself to death while watching someone’s death, death to your acting.
Nice
That made no sense whatsoever
I found out that you get embarrassed after the first like ten times and then you actually start to get used to it and become more loose.
This is what makes a great actor. Someone who can make a real situation out of complete fabrication.
Yeah your right
As somebody who acts on a stage, I confirm. It is even worse when it comes to romance 💀
😂😂
If I ever have to kiss someone on stage imma actually just quit the play, I can't do that
Can you elaborate? I'm interested in behind the scenes
I have had two roles where I am in a relationship with one of my (real life) classmates and it was the SAME ONE (acting is just the most awkward thing ever

This is why I want to be a voice actor you just go in a booth and record your lines and that’s it.
I believe sometimes your all together (like thst chowder episode where they fourth wall break) but it’s much more less awkward and funnier
Voice acting is just as weird, it's not as visible as acting, but it's really a personal kind of weird, like torturing yourself into getting accustomed to the overwhelming silence, listening to your own funny voice and all the funny sounds you make for eternity, trying not to cringe staying in character not burst out laughing acting out lines that is really out of the ordinary, having everyone listen on to your funny voice voicing that funny lines... and all the other stuffs.
