This guy is a hero of mine. PMJ has been a life changing event for me and my wife, and we have travelled the World to see them live - and every gig is different. If you get the chance to see them live, do it!

One of the most impressive things about PMJ -- and a key to their success -- is they release a video every Thursday. The one constant is Scott. He creates the arrangements, but different vocalists appear each week.

I love PMJ and was truly amazed when they included my country of New Zealand and my home city on their tours... awesome. Most "big" acts play in the larger cities in NZ (Auckland mainly) and never come to the South Island... but these guys did!
I was a huge fan of Scott and his work before he made it big and still am! Love all the new acts he brings on board!

I’m watching this in 2023, having been one of PMJ’s 6M subscribers, having seen you live twice (and always looking for more opportunities!!), and I’m loving the early history. Puddles was there right at the start! All About That Bass too, wow.

Thank you for showing that finding one's core then staying true to it while developing it is the way to success.
While I have enjoyed all of your song adaptations, I would have to say the one you tube video that impacted me was your tribute to your dad. It reminded me when I saw Steve Goodman on his last tour and he sang a song about his dad who was a bomber pilot during WWII. In both instances I had a connection to a man I could never meet forged by their sons.

I had seen your PMJ perform at the Silver Legacy in Reno,NV. I was in awe of your singers and musicians, one of the best entertaining and performance I've ever attended. Your Q and A at Oxford was very interesting on how PMJ was founded. One note, can the video edit out the girl who couldn't leave her hair alone.

*The amazing Robyn Adele Anderson deserved a shout-out here.* She was the singer in most of his videos for the first three years, who helped him make it big before he decided to move to LA while she wanted to stay home in NY. He names almost everyone who followed her. Not becoming, Scott.
Robyn's PMJ takes on "Can't Stop" and "Talk Dirty" are absolutely brilliant and have tens of millions of views. She now has her own channel.

I've been watching PMJ for some time and now I have a better perspective of my reasons. The concept brings to mind Glen Miller's work with "Little Brown Jug". That used to be called "jazzing it up".

Hooking up with Haley Reinhart was pivotal for Scott once he moved to LA, as the popularity of her music featured in his videos on his video channel coupled with her live performances on his shows was really big for PMJ, because everyone wanted to go see and listen to Haley Reinhart and Haley did not disappoint. I'd would say she created a lot of momentum for PMJ and their touring success.

@@BroonParker You are right! Any football match or Question period in the House of Commons will show that they have another side to them! Not long ago we were on a bus in the north of England which slowed down dramatically and then stopped. The bus was about half full, and everyone sat still minding their own business. Eventually my husband (Canadian) went to speak to driver, who said, “T’bus has conked out”. Growing up in the UK, I was taught, “Don’t make a fuss!”

I just discovered him, them PMJ and my daughter says she’s been loving it, him or them. Why didn’t anyone ask the reason for his music or PMJ’s popularity or craving for that in the Union? Of course, as Scott explained, it’s catchy& familiar with good lyrics, future classics, I suppose. And it’s live not machine made with multiple tracks, with raw pure high quality talent of musicians, their enthusiasm…. But I suspect also that we all like the style and era when men smartly dressed with courtesy, women elegantly with the touch of femininity and dance had a certain disciplinary training behind fun move elements. Not PC at all, but those still appeals to us, to be honest.

The singing and musicianship in Modern Jukebox is great. Unfortunately their Achielles' Heel is their choice of material. Today's music is largely cranked out by tuneless dweebs who don't understand the difference between putting words to notes as opposed lyrics to melodies. Just because you play a crap tune a different way does not make it any better. It's still crap. A good tune has a melody that can be played by itself and yet hold your attention. Material is the engine that drives all good music.

Jajaja the covers are better than the originals, who would say it. Pop has always been the cancer of music. Let the instrumental digitalisation die do not let the acoustic die.
