It's hilarious to hear that MK11 feels fast compared to Mk1, when the number one complaint from everyone when playing Mk11 was that it was too slow... lol
The slowness is everything other than movement and pokes, pokes have no recovery and wave dashing is fast, other than that there isnt much insane about MK11 except losing 50% for one krushing blow
As a viewer, not a player, MK11 is more fun to watch for a few reasons: 1. Character variations are really pronounced 2. No kameos. Kameos make all the characters too similar to watch. Everyone can have a sub-zero, Scorpion, Striker, etc. The combos extenders are all the same. 3. MK11 feels more like a video game. The characters have distinct styles. In MK1, I can't tell who's who unless I look at their hat. 4. Crushing blows. Some may agree or disagree, but those are the main points for me.
MK11 is a modern version of MK2. They tuned the speed down and made the gameplay style old school again and it went over people's heads. My fave MK of the modern era.
No people didn’t like the krushing blows,all the wake up options,flowless block reversals,breakaways,random fatal blows that everyone gets and required zero skill to land and turn around the game etc. the fundamental mechanics of the game are pure trash unfortunately. And no combos,bad implemented variation system etc. these are extras.

I think there are still glaring issues with mk11 that prevent it from being a good game to return to, but I have more of an appreciation for some of its strengths now that mk1 is out. I think mk1 still has a more balanced system and mkx is the most fun and worth playing, but you can still find a lot of fun and unique matches in mk11 with lots of variety in gameplay. I just can’t stand some of the big negatives like fatal blows, bad kbs, some wakeups, and a ton of jumping.
I don't know it feels like every Game they have released since MKX have been hated on When MKX came out people complained about it being busted. When MK11 came out People said it was boring and the gameplay sucks and that MKX was better and the same cycle has repeated with MK1 With people going to MK11 Now that People are hating on the new game im not trying to defend NRS's actions but it feels like they can't win.

I’d agree a lot of people are giving mk11 more credit now just because there are more complaints about mk1. I’d argue mk1 gameplay is still better than mk11, but I think mk11 was more enjoyable to watch. Plus there is almost no version of any character outside of maybe Kenshi or Baraka in mk1 that I’d take over the gameplay of each of these characters in previous nrs titles. Like I still like almost all the versions of mk characters better in either mkx or mk11. Also mk9 but I don’t have much experience with that game.

People found early files that do support the theory. The kameo system being called "Sidekick". Theres much more. I'm not gonna write multiple paragraphs unless you insist, but you can look it up yourself.

I was also among the people who still played MK11 when everyone else moved on. I think all the people going back to MK11 shows it really wasn't as bad as Tom Brady and all the haters were making it out to be. It could have been better but still a good game. I think it's awesome that we have so many good NRS games to go back to like MKX, MK11, IJ2.

I have X, 11 and 1 installed on my PS and I'm having so much fun playing X and 11 and I feel like I'm pushing myself to play 1 and like it, but I don't. I guess I'll be playing 11 for another few years and I'll hope that the next MK won't be so bad as 1 is. For me MK1 feels like a downgrade.

Breakaway meter worked when it wanted to. When you have the meter and it doesn't happen or happens way too late.
