He's always quite uncomfortable in interviews (which is understandable; it's probably really awkward), but you were asking really good questions and he started getting more comfortable and seemed actually excited to talk about stuff with you :D. Great interview!
Rjylen Shepard Jesus Christ no. I'm sorry, but he did not respond or retort to any of Bo Burnham's answers. He made it abundantly clear he went in with a grocery list full of questions, and anything outside of a normal response could be answered with a "yeah" or "totally".
+Brandon Fair you're absolutely right he had a list of questions he plan on asking before he even sat down in the chair and he made it this awkward debacle. Bad interview. A waste of bo burnham screen time.
He’s always been more comfortable with more comedic interviews, ones where he’s just talking and not answering questions. Like interviews with Pete Holmes, Conan, Tim Key. All of those are much easier and funnier to watch
He's always seemed like such a chill guy. It really is awesome to watch someone grow with you, from watching and memorizing some of his first youtube videos when i was in highschool to now, seeing him doing interviews and stand up routines, publishing a book, a netflix special. It's wild
I honestly think Bo might become a stand-up legend on par with Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, perhaps even George Carlin. He's funny, witty, intelligent, writes great songs, has sick flow, and is just all around entertaining.
I had no clue who George Carlin is (besides context in Art is Dead) before my mom talked to me a little about who he is (..after making her listen to Art is Dead) but I know who Bo Burnham is (...as Im here) ...But Im 14 so ofc Id have no clue who George Carlin is or any of those other people you mentioned are...
24 never looked so good! He's a genius. The Straight White Male song is hilarious. Heard it back in August. Wonder when he'll take a break to live a normal life. he's already worth millions.
This wasa a great interview. Any question that gets those longer more thought out answers I love. I loved hearing what he had to say about the media and his messages. God I love him. Props to the interviewer too for having these good questions that got him to come out of his shell a bit.
The vine part is so true. When I tried to tell my friend who Bo is, I was like "he's a musical comedian and he's written a lot of really good songs" and he was like "lmao who" then I said "the one who made the vine that's like 'is there anything better than pussy? Yes, a really good book'" and he was like "OH HIM"
I have missed new material for so long! I can't wait for the new hour to come out, but it's great to know that he's working on it - I can wait another year, as long as he can stand by it!
This was a really good interview! Great questions with actual substance, and the technical parts of it were prefect! A lot more professional than I expected! Good job, to everyone involved with this! Also, I hope to meet Bo one day! He's something else with his work, man.
This interview is so great to watch because Bo shows that he is very sensitive (in a completely positive way) and very insightful. Also, he is very, very sexy in that white t-shirt....or any other way :.)
Bo Burnham is freaking awesome. I agree with tomato thing! it doesn't matter if the tomato is hot or cold, as long as it's been cooked... it's a texture thing for me haha
Oh my god I'm not even shitting you guys, when I was in 6th grade all I wanted to do was play on the duke basketball team. But now I pursue comedic stuff
Something is wrong with me. Every time I think about Bo Burnham I think that in like 5 or 6 years from now he will become one of those famous people who isn't really doing much anymore... like Tobuscus or Pewdiepie Or Cupcuake. I'm consumed by dark thoughts nooooo!
Aerbna Homa Atleast you noticed something was up. If you met a guy out on the streets acting like this, he might have used drugs.. but in most normal cases its nervousness or tiredness and maybe a hint of social anxiety.
I don't know if you've ever been on stage ever, but this is exactly how I am whenever I do. You're full of adrenaline and jittery because you're no longer exerting yourself and it's a big release. (Admittedly coke is like that too)
+the names merz Yeah, you're right. He honestly doesn't probably enjoy being on camera a whole lot, especially since in this video he just got done doing a show. He also comes across as kind of a shy and introverted personality and he also probably didn't expect to get famous from this. I don't know that I could ever get used to being on camera all the time like that.
+merz I do it because I'm not a good social person, not cause I don't want to be there. If I was him I would also do it because I would be a bit stressed answering questions.
this is what we call social anxiety. just barreling through social interactions like a wrecking ball. you can get a sense for how deep his mind has dug itself into panic mode when he talks about the irony of the irony of the straight white male persecution complex. when one of the greatest wordsmiths of all times can't find the words, something else is consuming a large portion of his mind.
Man he's so well spoken.
Bo is so fucking cool and one of the classiest guys I've ever seen. Able to stand behind his comedy and is totally empathetic to other people.
His interviews make me so happy because evrerything that comes out of his mouth is amazing
so happy this interview exists, I was sooo desperate for some updates of Bo
and I found out we both hate bananas and raw tomatoes!
Both great fruits..
Silly Goose Not to me, I think they're disgusting
+Aania Naseer Aren't you the girl who had the rap beat made from your name on Jackask?
EPrimeify yup! :D
He's always quite uncomfortable in interviews (which is understandable; it's probably really awkward), but you were asking really good questions and he started getting more comfortable and seemed actually excited to talk about stuff with you :D. Great interview!
Not, really at all
Rjylen Shepard Jesus Christ no. I'm sorry, but he did not respond or retort to any of Bo Burnham's answers. He made it abundantly clear he went in with a grocery list full of questions, and anything outside of a normal response could be answered with a "yeah" or "totally".
+Brandon Fair agreed! Bo Burnham is hilarious and fantastic, however the level of journalistic inquiry is highly lacking.
I've seen some shitty student produced interviews. But this was top-notch.
he is so genuine i really like him
He's always seemed like such a chill guy. It really is awesome to watch someone grow with you, from watching and memorizing some of his first youtube videos when i was in highschool to now, seeing him doing interviews and stand up routines, publishing a book, a netflix special. It's wild
:)
4:46 the way he says crappy is adorable
The people that put this interview together did a tremendous job. Shots, audio, and questions were great
I honestly think Bo might become a stand-up legend on par with Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, perhaps even George Carlin. He's funny, witty, intelligent, writes great songs, has sick flow, and is just all around entertaining.
:)
Come to find out 6 years later in a comment I forgot I ever wrote, he's come to fulfill that prophecy.
@@bartholen i thought it’d be funny to see if you’d come back to this comment, i always love to be dragged back to my old comments too
I had no clue who George Carlin is (besides context in Art is Dead) before my mom talked to me a little about who he is (..after making her listen to Art is Dead) but I know who Bo Burnham is (...as Im here)
...But Im 14 so ofc Id have no clue who George Carlin is or any of those other people you mentioned are...
I thought he reached that with Make Happy. Inside put him on a different level from everyone else. In my awards system, anyway.
Great interview! It's nice to have a firm no to the question "will Bo come back to vine?" now I can delete the terrible app.
''If you're stranded on long island, what would you invent?''
haha legend.
The end is hilarious.
what's up checkmark
*where are the replies*
This is my favorite Bo interview. Well done!!
24 never looked so good!
He's a genius. The Straight White Male song is hilarious. Heard it back in August. Wonder when he'll take a break to live a normal life. he's already worth millions.
Antoine Farrar No its straight white male
Do we have same last name
speaking from the future ….. been on Netflix recently?
this was so important to me. god bless
This wasa a great interview. Any question that gets those longer more thought out answers I love. I loved hearing what he had to say about the media and his messages. God I love him. Props to the interviewer too for having these good questions that got him to come out of his shell a bit.
9:05. I love how he can mess up his hair and it still looks cute. :) 💟
The vine part is so true. When I tried to tell my friend who Bo is, I was like "he's a musical comedian and he's written a lot of really good songs" and he was like "lmao who" then I said "the one who made the vine that's like 'is there anything better than pussy? Yes, a really good book'" and he was like "OH HIM"
he always talks like his mind is moving too fast for his tongue to catch up it's fascinating
still to this day.... he his an artist
I love how Bo references the song he would play two years later in his new special.
And he references straight white man.
It's cause he played those songs in the show at Duke so he wanted to talk about it.
Sam Hahn I didn't realize this said 2016 :/
I have missed new material for so long! I can't wait for the new hour to come out, but it's great to know that he's working on it - I can wait another year, as long as he can stand by it!
Gotta love bo
This was a really good interview! Great questions with actual substance, and the technical parts of it were prefect! A lot more professional than I expected! Good job, to everyone involved with this! Also, I hope to meet Bo one day! He's something else with his work, man.
"There are people that churn out an hour every year and I can't do that. And I don't even really want to." 3:17
*imagines bo in boxer briefs*
Oh my god... thank you so much for this
yall are weird i s2g
the legs confuse me
Rainbow Saurus Try cutting the picture of him off at one inch below the boxers. That should help
Oof
This interview is so great to watch because Bo shows that he is very sensitive (in a completely positive way) and very insightful. Also, he is very, very sexy in that white t-shirt....or any other way :.)
BO LOOKS SO PRETTY HERE🥺🥺🥺
He has a new tour called Make Happy.
Gonna see him in Orlando!!!!!!
haha great interview
Such a great interview, Bo is such a great guy
the rapid fire questions killed me.
Right???
Bo: "It took me long enough to climb out of the TH-cam pigeonhole, haha"
Title of video: "It's Bo (Burnham) Yo!"
He will never escape that song lmao
These questions were so good!
I live about an hour from duke. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE WAS THERE
wishes he invented the wheel he'd be a millionaire BO you're already a millionaire. talented guy is an understatement.
He's so flipping nervous.
When Bo was struggling with the speed round answer.😅😂😅😂 How are these speed answers!😂
Oh my god, the interviewer said Bo switched from TH-cam to Vine?!?!? That probably pissed Bo off.
no. even bo said that himself. 4:26
me throughout this entire interview: bo please let the poor man finish his sentence
"the wheel; I'd be a millionaire" LMFAO!!!!!!! Brah, you got that million and then some. LOL. Feel like he did that on purpose.
+Space Urchin plot twist: he wanted to invent the wheel of fortune
I thought the same thing. Lol
I love BO
"if you're stranded on long island what would you invent" L M F A O
Why is this guy interviewing him so beautiful
Those eyelashes!
BUT IS HIS ANSWER COKE OR PEPSI?!
Why does the thumbnail look like Dr. Oz?
on a real note, not a fan of the show he's been doing, but his stand up and musical side has been on point lately. 8/8 gr8 m8.
best camera man ever. Never seen a steadier hand😒
This was a great interview, Bo should do coke more often!
Bo's last bit this is the song that's referenced in this interview.
Bo Burnham is freaking awesome. I agree with tomato thing! it doesn't matter if the tomato is hot or cold, as long as it's been cooked... it's a texture thing for me haha
+Amanda Plante I was happy to find another person who hated bananas.
brooklea98 they're horrible right?! Another texture issue for me haha I wonder why Bo hates them?
+Amanda Plante For me it's texture AND taste. The only way I can stand them is ground up in smoothies. That way I can't taste them.
what was the bit he was referring to with the suicide message?
Lol he always interupts
Oh my god I'm not even shitting you guys, when I was in 6th grade all I wanted to do was play on the duke basketball team. But now I pursue comedic stuff
Go home.
No buddy, go work for your dreams - don't chase 'em, work to achieve them!
woah
Honestly. He isn't that much different from his stage persona
I wonder who's more famous,
Bo Burnham or Pewdiepie?
Zeta Uphill PewDiePie, easily. Might not be as good as Burnham, but is at least 10x more famous.
+JoshuaRants that's just sad
school
I want a boyfriend/girlfriend TO BE AS WOKE AS BO LMAO I love bo sm :'-)
Long island
does that one guy filming have low blood sugar
I swear I ship them by that day
Its so funny i literally dont understand what he’s saying his sentence fragments problem is so bad but its cute
He looks wiped out.
bo! stop touching your face~
He has anxiety, he probably does it subconsciously
Something is wrong with me. Every time I think about Bo Burnham I think that in like 5 or 6 years from now he will become one of those famous people who isn't really doing much anymore... like Tobuscus or Pewdiepie Or Cupcuake. I'm consumed by dark thoughts nooooo!
4 years since your comment, he’s accomplished so much more!
This comment ahhh..
If you like Bo Burnham, you will like my videos too. Wanna give it a shot?
To be honest, Bo seems very nervous since he is so fidgety. Paranoid even.
he shows sign of being tired or nervous, being righthanded and having an itchy nose.
Oh. Well I'm not good with body language anyway.
Aerbna Homa Atleast you noticed something was up.
If you met a guy out on the streets acting like this, he might have used drugs..
but in most normal cases its nervousness or tiredness and maybe a hint of social anxiety.
He has anxiety
I'm gonna see his ass in Madison soon :)))
Where are you going to see him? This year or next year?
Madison, Wisconsin. this month, actually :)))
Maddy B noooo my envy for you is growing by the second! :((( you're so lucky!
Maddy B whoa where did he play??? because i live in madison and we took a trip up to eau claire to see him a few days ago.
At memorial union,In shannon Hall; it was right before his current tour. Also He's going to Milwaukee in March btw :)))
I wonder if he's on some drug or had an energy drink or something. His energy is so jittery and he's talking so fast lol.
I don't know if you've ever been on stage ever, but this is exactly how I am whenever I do. You're full of adrenaline and jittery because you're no longer exerting yourself and it's a big release. (Admittedly coke is like that too)
I think he's just super comfortable in this interview to be honest.
By his own admittance, Bo is shy and nervous off stage. He's fidgety in all of his interviews. I think he's naturally a fast talker.
I think he has anxiety
so like...he's gay, right?
No he is actually straight
I know surprising
Don't worry his whole family thinks he's gay
+Isabelle Hodgson I guess it's always been that way.
+brooklea98 Maybe it's because of the way that he walks
Makes them think he likes...boys
looks like Bo is breaking out pretty bad...probably should lay off the bukkaki....and the drugs.
i can't stand where people are always rubbing their faces. like trisha paytas
I've heard in numerous places that he has anxiety.
+merz I do it because I'm not a good social person, not cause I don't want to be there. If I was him I would also do it because I would be a bit stressed answering questions.
me throughout this entire interview: bo please let the poor man finish his sentence
He was being way to elaborate with his questions
JJDiscussions that's just bo being bo
Katie Sabol
I meant the interviewer haha
JJDiscussions oh lol
