    No, no, no, wrong, wrong. The US space shuttle was not launched from an airplane. It was only transported by the modified 747. They released it from the plane for glide and landing testes but was NEVER going to be sent into space from the 747. For starters there is no fuel! The Soviets were using it for transport of their orbiter as well. Also the 225 would show up the US C-5 heavy transporter. They planned to use the 225 to carry all sorts of military cargo, including redeployment of mobile ballistic missiles. A one up to the US proposal to have mobile launchers on trains so they could not be easily targeted.

  • @Marksmal
    @Marksmal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +163

    Did you not do any research on how the Buran or the US Space Shuttle worked?! Neither one of them were launched to orbit from an aircraft. The airplanes used were only to transport and test the vehicles, not to launch them to orbit. Also, the Buran didn't "fail miserably," the Soviet Union collapsed and it lost funding. The vehicle itself passed its tests just fine and many would say was a better design than the US Space Shuttle.

    • @grubbler123
      @grubbler123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Better design in that the Soviets "borrowed" the blueprints for the Shuttle and improved on them. Wonder why it looks quite like the US Space Shuttle?

      @Marksmal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@grubbler123 The strong resemblance to the American Space Shuttle is more a fault of physics and fluid dynamics than espionage. There are only so many ways to make a load-body spacecraft to those specifications. This is also compounded due to the technology of the day. It's kind of like how almost all widebody passenger aircraft look the same regardless of the manufacturer

  • @michaelfink64
    @michaelfink64 3 ปีที่แล้ว +282

    I think you need to do more research:
    The Buran was not designed to launch from the 224. This was just used to transport the Buran between the landing site and the launch site, just as NASA did with the Space Shuttle.
    "And since it was the only plane that was ever built in the entire world" (2:02) - What the f___!
    Several of the images shows the Antonov 124.
    "Russia don't make coincidence" - This is a Ukrainian plane, not Russian.

    No, the Buran wasn't meant to launch the "Energia" into space, like the American Boeing counterpart it was meant to recover the Shuttle from where it was decided to land it after the mission, and bring it back to Baikonur, the release from the back of the plane shown in the video was for testing, just like Nasa did with the Enterprise Shuttle before the program began ;-D

    225 is designed to carry Energia rocket components (including the Buran shuttlecraft) not directly launching the Buran to space. There was only an idea to launch a spacecraft (not Buran) but it just an idea. Please do proper research.

    • @RoisonGamer

    • @msb3235
      @msb3235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoisonGamer Buran is just a piggyback item and launch conventionally by the Energia. The idea using AN225 as the launcher was called MAKC (Многоцелевая авиационно-космическая система) roughly means Multipurpose Aerospace System. Like other innovative Soviet-era space projects, It was canceled in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR.

    • @VG_164

      @@msb3235 The MAKC did come quite a big into its development rather than just being an idea to be fair. The engines for it, the RD-701, got fully developed and are arguably the best rocket engines ever made since they used a tripropellant of LO2, LH2 and Kerosene while having incredibly high chamber pressure and efficiency.

    Incredible plane, insufferable video and narrator.
    You don’t need to tell us what part of the video we’re watching. We’re literally watching it.

    It can carry about 250 metric tons max, and the 10,000 mile range is flying empty. Weighs about 285 metric tons empty.

    Who learned this guy punctuation, I understood from the title that they will be putting The Antonov 225 inside an even larger plane.

    The Buran was only to be transported to Khazakhstan by the 225..... for a normal launch. Just like the modified 747 in the US to transport the Shuttle to the launch area. It was not used to launch the spacecraft

    Awesome Vid Team. Great stuff,🤔
    One query tho... unless I dont know my aircraft... at 5:15... in vid...the aircraft displayed is actually the AN-125 with 4 engines and NOT the AN-225 which has 6 turbines.😉
    Otherwise, Excellent Vid. Thanks. Looking forward to more great Stuff from "Beyond Facts".🤩😁👌🙏👁

    why do people insist on these silly photoshopped clickbaity thumbs on their vids? I mean, come on man. Let your work stand on its own merits instead of baiting people for clicks. It's just so national inquirer. "beyond facts." yep. accurate.
