In this movie,, Elvis played a high school delinquent that has to hustle to help his father pay the bills,, he becomes a singer. The young girl he takes to the hotel is Delores Hart, she was also in the movie “Loving You” with Elvis. She gave up acting and became a Nun.
Tysheen, watch the whole movie for your personal enjoyment. It was probably the best of Elvis' movies and it was his own personal favorite of all the films he did. Carolyn Jones, the lady he was defending, played Morticia Addams a few years later in the old "Addams Family" TV comedy series. Elvis was born in 1935, so he was 23 here. As soon as the film was completed, he went into the Army for 2 years and was stationed in Germany.
Fantastic to see you watching and enjoying an Elvis movie. For me, King Creole is the best he made. At the time Elvis became hugely famous in 1956, having a career in Hollywood making movies was the biggest thing anyone could do in entertainment; movie stars were gods and goddesses. Rock 'n' roll music was still relatively new and nobody knew how long it would last so Elvis was ecstatic when he was signed up to be a movie star. He didn't even want to sing in the movies, he wanted to be a serious actor. But it wasn't to be. Before he went into the army in 1958, Elvis made four movies of which Loving You, Jailhouse Rock and King Creole are my personal faves. These movies have a grit and realism to them and they better showcase his acting talent and potential for more challenging scripts. It's a shame his talent wasn't put to better use but his post-army movies made money - and that's what has always counted in Hollywood.
I read the book 50 years + ago and I still remember in the beginning it said a quote from the bible, "What man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread would he give him a stone". Hence the title, A Stone for Danny Fisher, by Harold Robbins
You know I love your views you have a beautiful soul ❤ thank you ELVIS PRESLEY I sure do miss him 😪 such a wonderful person ❤ He was human ❤ Bless his soul ❤ may God give him peace..
DOLORES HART WAS IN TWO ELVIS MOVIES, KING CREOLE AND LOVING YOU. SHE WAS A RISING STAR IN HOLLYWOOD AROUND 1960 SHE LEFT IT ALL TO BECOME A NUM WITH A VOW OF SILENCE, I BELIEVE CONVENT WAS IN CONN. SHE GAVE ELVIS HIS FIRST SCREEN KISS. SHE WAS ENGAGE TO A GENTLEMEN, AND HE NEVER MARRIED AND HE VISIEDT HER AT THE CONVENT. THEY DID A MOVIE AROUND 8 YEARS AGO TITLED "GOD IS BIGGER THEN ELVIS" RECOMMEND YOU DO A REACTION ON THIS MOVIE. AS FOR ELVIS I SAW HIM WHILE I WAS IN SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS. HE WAS DIRT POOR AS A KID AND ALL THE MILLIONS HE MADE WHEN HE PASS HIS ESTATE HAD ONLY 6 MILLION. MONEY WASN'T HIS GOD. WHEN HIS COUNTY CALL HIM HE WAS DRAFTED INTO THE ARMY FOR TWO YEAR AND DEMANDED TO BE TREAT LIKE ANY OTHER SOLDGER. RECOMMEND A GREAT SONG LIVE VERSION OF "WHAT NOW MY LOVE" '
Hollywood missed the mark. Elvis should have been featured in the BEST MOVIES from 1959 through the 70s after this performance, and been allowed to tour in between movie roles. Elvis was one of the all time great dramatic actors... it's right there on the silver screen. But with a shyster manager, Mr Parker, sadly he hid and denied many of the offers for Elvis, and years later we found out Elvis knew little of the BS Parker pulled. Elvis was as talented at acting as he was at singing ... and as the greatest selling musician of all time, that's saying a lot.
THESE are the movies Elvis was offered to be featured in (or to play an important character role), but his manager Tom Parker turned down partly or entirely: Being There, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Defiant Ones, The Godfather, Midnight Cowboy, The Rainmaker, A Star Is Born, Sweet Bird of Youth, Thunder Road, Valley of The Dolls, West Side Story, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory and Your Cheatin' Heart. This was a travesty, as the actors that went on to play these roles are legendary actors today. Even was even offered a role in Grease ... but Elvis was in bad physical health and near death at the time.
Great reaction. His 4th film and he was getting better and better. Than the army came along and his management stuck him in formula movies for money, and he lost his creative desire to continue acting. Such a shame. Fun fact this film was originally for James Dean, and they gave it to Elvis after JD passed away. Like his singing he had no formal acting training but he could have developed into a serious dramatic actor if they had let him act not do 12 songs a film. The good thing about this film is it fitted and the music was really good before (again) his management opted for commercial gains over music quality. It has to be the most mismanaged acting career in history.
Not completely true. Wild in the country is as serious a story and not like any other. It came out in 1961 and is my favorite. He is amazing in that role.
Love king creole jailhouse rock my favourite film flaming star brilliant Elvis was a good actor it's a shame he got drafted might of made more like them enjoyed that thank you
Next please watch Flaming Star, an early movie about racism against Native Americans with Elvis playing a half Native American which sort of ties in with his own Native American ancestry on both sides of his family tree.
Kitty White was the female voice in the song Crawfish. Magnificent voice.
I agree John.

Frankie Avalon is great, but I would have liked to have heard Elvis’ version of Beauty School Drop Out.
Loved Elvis in this movie
Loved this movie. It's a shame that many important parts were cut out by the editing here. Good reaction.
Which part? I can't show too much because TH-cam will block this video due to copyrights.
