    But when you cause a ptosis or Spock brow it can quickly turn into a complaint.
    In this week's Aesthetics Mastery Show, Dr Tim shares the injection patterns he uses to achieve beautiful arched brows for his patients, without the nasty side effects.
    He also explains the anatomical principles behind why we should choose certain Botox brow lift injection patterns over others.

    I know y’all are gonna come for me, but I’m gonna say it anyway! I am doing this on myself (have been for 4 years) and after applying what I’ve learned from Dr P, I love the results way better than when I used to get Botox done at a doctor’s office (not by a doctor, but his assistant). They left me with a droopy brow- I looked perennially pissed and at the follow up, she said it looks fine! When she tried to fix it, it was just ever so slightly better.
    I don’t have to worry about that anymore. The spa wanted to treat me with a total of 80 units; I do my whole face with 30 units or less! I don’t like the frozen look, so I know exactly the look I’m going for- and I know my face- so with the knowledge I’ve gained from doc P (and studying anatomy books from my pediatric mom’s med school days), I love the final outcome! Thank you, Dr Pearce!

      I also do my own botox and I'm not going back! I use way less botox, only when and where I need it and it's hard for me to watch the lack of sanitation practice at spas and doctors offices...yes, all of them. They just slightly wipe the area with alcohol, then touch everything with their gloves, the dirty botox box, the mirror handle, something else, it always makes me anxious. As a germophob my place is absolutely clean and sanitized, the bottle is out of the box and wiped with alcohol, im out of the shower, my face is sanitized and I also wipe the area with alcohol before each injection.

    Thank you! This vid helped way more. Question though. If I use the same amount of toxin but put it in more sites in an area will the product last just as long? So for example say I was gonna put 40units Dysport/16 units Botox across the pt's frontalis and put it in 4 sites symmetrically. If I change my pattern and break it up to 4-5 sites on each side will the hold not last as long? Will it last as long but just not be as effective in each injection site? I’d like more leeway to tailor a pattern to my pt's needs. I’m just worried they’ll come back in a month and a half with the product already worn off. 90% of my patients are men BTW.

    Informative as usual, thank you Dr. Pearce!
    I have had patients come in asking for a brow lift, their previous injector injects higher on the lateral frontalis to "Spock" it a bit. I get concerned that I will inject too high and "Spock" it too much! Have you found a sweet spot that lifts the lateral brow but not a huge spock brow? I know everyone is different, but just wondering if maybe 2cm above the lateral brow is a place to start and then fine tune during follow up?

      drtimpearce.com/2020/08/18/the-best-tried-and-tested-botox-injection-patterns-and-mistakes-to-avoid/
      I have attached a link that may help but in our experience every patient is different. Skin thickness, age of patient etc. We recommend leaving the ‘cats ears’ out and as you have suggested, fine tune in 2 weeks time. What you find for one patient won’t be the same for the next until you really get to know your patient. In time you will learn these little variables and guesstimate it better.

    Dear Dr. Pearce, despite having injected a lot of patients I really enjoy watching your videos, because your way of explanation is simply great. I`d love to know: Isnt the injection under the lateral third of the eyebrow the most dangerous injection point as far as lid ptosis is concerned? Do you simply remain really superficial and push against the orbital rim and hope for the best or do you take other precautions?

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Strictly superficial is absolutely key. No hoping for the best. It’s all about depth. Blanching the skin on injecting is a great way to know how deep you are.

    Great video, what would you suggest if a patient has lines within the cat space? Leave as is, consider filler?
    Thanks

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some lines depending on the age of the patient, skin laxity may remain and younger patients can have a smooth forehead. But putting a little toxin within the cats ears will soften those lines but ultimately will also reduce the movement / lift they have.
      Patients can’t always have both. So alternatives can be considered. Filler is one of those choices. But botox is the safer option.
      Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim.

    Can you do a video on how to round the medial brow That is my original brow shape and want to help my injector recreate. I have heard about the one or two unit in the brow where it pulls down or where u want the lift but I would love you to cover this please ? Also can u explain what to do when someone is dealing with thick kind of what looks to be bulging of corrugators above eyebrow after injection of frontalis ,glabella complex , and obicularis ? Does this often mean they need more toxin in the glabella

      To achieve more medial rounding you would have to make sure that there isn’t too much toxin medially in the frontalis. Or not treat it at all.
      The link below may help you understand treating the orbicularis oculi superficially with tiny doses to achieve lift .
      I agree there maybe requirement for more toxin if there is bulging muscles in the glabella complex.
