Our D drops drastically after first line but I think still good. Forwards are pretty solid I think. In my opinion, Allvin has done amazing. Not sure about Desharnais yet. Love the Sherwood and Debrusk signings and not over spending on Z and Lindholm.
@@CanuckTonyI’m excited to see how this team is going to gel together. Sherwood is going to hit everything in sight.
We could have kept zadorov and not signed Myers or dehranais tho. Food for thought
@@greensky18 Wouldn't that have been a better move to do that? I just made a Zadorov video last night and I believe I talked about that exact scenario in the Z domino effect.
I think putting Desarnais with Hughes in the playoffs he won’t get ran over as bad as he did this year. He can also protect Hughes by taking off the gloves
The thing about Desharnais is that he is slow and doesn't play a lot of minutes. So I doubt he will be on the top line.
They have 2 great D coaches in Foote and Gonchar. If the two acquisitions are teachable, they'll be fine. Look what they achieved with Tyler Meyers last season. Complete turnaround of his play from the previous years. I like the signings including the forwards. They're going to be a very annoying team to play against...Yessss!
@@Kmn55650 I totally agree my only concern is will we be able to score more. Maybe that’s another video topic for this summer
Good guy right here
The reason big Z was able to cash in and Myers' game turned around is Tocchet's system and the blueline expertise of his assistant coaches. Think we'll see improvements in Desharnais game who seemed lost at times playing in Edmonton with it's more freewheeling style of play.
@@Steveriknows great points. I’m getting more excited about these additions
Foote and Gonchar will be good for Desarnais
Zadorov and Lindholm were just using the canucks as a stepping stone
I guess so. I think the Canucks offered Z the same money but he got more term with Boston. Lindholm was never coming back to Van. So strange they are both Bruins though.
The Canucks used them to try and win a Stanley Cup. I think it was mutual.
@@Beeline533 great point!!!
@@Beeline533 It's not the same thing. They were auditioning for the bruins not the team they were playing for.
@@dougstewart3243 since when do you get paid to audition? If the Canucks wanted them badly enough they could have matched the comp package Boston put in front of those players but they wouldn’t match.
Blue lime is big but not sure if the puck movement is there. The third pairing is huge and can kill penalties but would really like a puck moving offensive guy back there.
Yeah maybe. Running out of cap space. I think we are good until grade deadline. Also, D Petey May work. Love to see Jett woo get a chance with his hard playing style
@@nabatron21 that is the biggest criticism of that 3rd pairing for sure
@@CanuckTony D Petey would be a very solid addition
cudo's to PA for getting our cap situation under control. also, if they make mistakes, they fix it fairly quickly.
my only concern is scoring from the back end after hughes/hronek. if they move hronek to 2nd pairing, who can fit in with hughes?
@@joepratte727 I agree there is not a lot of scoring potential from the 2nd & 3rd pairing.
This guy never saw Desharnais play in Edmonton. Guy can’t skate to save his life and is the biggest pylon in the league.
You are right...I don't pay a ton of attention to 3rd line pairing Def from EDM. I'm getting up to speed. I find it very interesting though how many Oilers fans are sad to see Desharnais go. I think that says something. Also why would the Canucks offer him a 2 year contract if he's that awful? They see something in him they can help develop so he can improve. And if he doesn't pan out, we can easily put Juulsen in there and be happy with his play. We are talking about the 6th or 7th Dman. We are not talk about guys like Nurse who are not great 2nd pairing D who make $9M.
Seattle proved this DOES NOT WORK when they expansion drafted absolute monsters across the board. Size does not equate with good D in the modern NHL. Quinn Hughes?? We know this already.
@@bigmop9 Seattle 2 years ago earning 100 points & made the playoffs. Oilers were one win away from a Cup with big D. The key is getting big & skilled D. Those are hard to find.
we need another puck moving dman to play behind hughes/hronek. zadorov loss can not be understated. MASSIVE loss.
@@unplugged123 yes I am disappointed in that as well. I’m going to make a Zadorov video this weekend
WOW!!!!!!!
Didn’t think Canucks could find a slower, bigger and dumber D than Myers but they did it!!!!
Wow!
2 top 4 D
6 bottom pair guys 👏👏👏
3 first line players 👌
4 top 6 players…
that’s only if DeBrusk can perform
New Jim same Jimbo
Trading prospects, picks and Kuzy for Lindholm, he was never the piece they needed long term, so dumb.
But hey Aqua got his playoff revenue, so all is well.
Don’t have the assets to sustain a contender, this team is not a strong contender.
2 top 6 forwards missing, 2 top 4 D short of a contending D core, size is great if it can move the puck.
Desharnais is a dumber, slower Tyler Myers
Thank you for watching and commenting. I think we will see how this all pans out. It's really difficult to see know how these additions will gel in July. There's a lot of coaching and chemistry that is needed.
Lindholm was insurance incase pettey didn’t sign.
@@JohnRedCorn79 I haven’t heard that one but it makes sense
how many points do you think a second line player puts up? a first line player is about 50 points or more
