While I get the point of this, to see if general powercreep is enough to beat older challenges, the issue is these challange modes are designed to be played completely differently to a standard game. You have to build your deck around the mechanics of the challenge, so your standard aggro or midrange, or even a lighter control deck can't do it. It really doesn't matter how strong cards get, as challenges cheat.

Seeing Galakrond, reminded me of the final mission as Galakrond. Reno casted crap ton of spells, and Anduin placed Tess Greymane from hand. Needless to say, her Battlecry managed to murder Galakrond. That day I learned not to toy with my food (Reno).

Most of the heroic challenges were a piece of cake with standard decks, even when the mode was released. But yeah - challenges like the Lich King, Galakrond, and that guy at the end of One Night In Karazhan are uniquely terrifying.
@@alefox3797 you do know Skruk has like, armor right, also, try and get to turn 9 to play Alex and then turn 10 for arrow against him as a mage, not to mention that he has many other spells. Also no cheating allowed we all know you can use Alex into 2 fireballs and a frostbolt (I think that was the name of the 2 mana 3 damage freeze) but it's cheap as hell

I can't remember what I used, but jade druid went sicko mode against everything. Just ramp, draw your whole deck, and then play auctioneer and fill your deck with jade idols.

So this idea really confuses me. He is clearly not stupid, so how does he does not understand that there is a difference between how you make an ideal deck for fighting an opponent of equal power level (which is what those meta decks are built around) and how you make an ideal deck for fighting an opponent who is insanely more powerful than you but has an exploitable weakness? It is possible to win with the former, but that is not what they were designed to do. What he is doing is almost like trying to play a deck designed to out fatigue the opponent in a meta where most matches don't make it past turn 5 or 6, it is ignoring what the goal is.
I beat these with an incredibly cheesy, boring, and dependent-on-the-right-draws infinite loop with Test Subject, Radiant Elemental, Knife Juggler, Embalming Ritual, and Holy Smite/Topsy Turvy. What I'd REALLY like to see you do for this is the Ashes of Outland Challenges

I used ignite mage to beat all the bosses. Was pretty easy even though the bosses literally summoned 8/8 dragons on turn 1
Against galakrond i just use a hard priest quest, you destroy this board each turn and wait the moment where you shard this face for win

Mill rogue does really well against this IiRC. Vanish just wrecks and fills their hand with crap or destroys boards and you can mill really fast.

You should always use custom decks against bosses. Meta decks are only good against normal players.

I know the majority of your content is Standard, but, a lot of Wild decks kill Galakrond no problem.
Or you could just use the deck MADE to defeat him. Adventure is a different game mode, you just need to build a deck that defeats that enemy.
