Piper and Mushu did really well together. Good job Mushu! People don’t realize how special lesson horses are. There is a special place in heaven for lesson horses. ❤

I feel completely different. He should never have a teenager around him. He needs someone like Shay that loves to breed and really knows what a beautiful horse he is. I think he's too young for this experience sorry..

My family owns a cattle ranch. I rode horses from about 5 years old on. But, I was just put on a horse , and told go. I really wish I had been coached, or taught like this. Even though I have ridden for years, I'm learning so much from this ❤
@@MsWarriordiva You can start right now learning the right technique. I too, was a child that my folks got a pony for me when none of us knew anything about horse care. I fell off multiple times and by listening to people who knew how to ride and how to care for a horse, I'd pick up hints, some good some bad. But if you don't know, you don't know. Same here, originally self taught other then being shown how to properly saddle up and put a bridle on, hoof pick and brush the horse. I learnt to ride by going out riding trails with a 11 year old friend who's parents had Shetlands (I was 12 at the time). Shetlands who were very pushy and loved to pigroot and would rear up (so I learnt to stay on well), one was an old show pony so it had a tricks it would do. We were little kids but we'd ride every weekend, often along the public dirt roads too. We got to know elderly ladies along the routes we would ride who would bring us out milk and cookies and carrots or apples for the ponies :) . I miss my “Elite Green Squad” 😢 I started riding at 7. I didn’t even get on a horse for the 1st 3 months. I had to study and learn the movements of the gaits. I had to learn about tack and the different bridles, bits, saddles. She had me grooming and mucking stalls every day. I was so bummed I just wanted to ride. Everyone was different. When she felt you were ready you got to start riding and we learned bareback 1st. I miss her SO much. when I turned 15 I was “promoted” we had a team of 5 girls who would be assigned to the green horses coming in as possible lesson horses but wasn’t ready for all level of riders, we would ride them and switch it up so they got used to different people riding them. Some became lesson horses and some were sold. I LOOOOOVED the green horses. You had to be ON YOUR SH*T!! There was no room for error. I definitely was the best of the best at falling 😂 I even won an award for it 🤣🤣🤣
I love your positive approach to training. You don't take shortcuts to get end results. You have a well thought out plan for success for both your horses and students. And your emphasis for safety gear sets you apart from many on youtube. Mushu is a wonderful little horse. It will be fun to watch as you progress him knowing you will find the best possible home for him.
Excellent Mushu!! Such a good boy, and yes especially since he was hearing you.. and knowing the difference with a different rider… he did so well.. love him!❤

OMG, if you lived here in CA, I would definitely want to take riding lessons.....you are a wonderful instructor! This video is informative, educational and enjoyable!!.
Piper needs to watch her foot placement in the stirrup. 25:10 you can see how far in her foot is. This is why her toes kept going down and her heels were up. Other than that, she and Mushu did a great job!
Hi Shae! Piper, Mushu and you did so well! Mushu is a dreamy pony and responds well to gentle handling. Piper was nervous -- to be expected! Performance anxiety plus she is a young teen girl. Your instruction was great! Wahoo!
It was lovely to watch Piper and Mushu work out the lunging and riding time together. They were at a very comfortable, relaxed stage. Each giving the other a steady, easy confidence in a very safe environment. Also, Shae’s calm, kind, encouraging attentiveness and instructions gave those riding participants a solid, content, happy togetherness. Some bonding and being as one in this gentle riding experience. I was in this class experience too! Vicariously, yes, but equally inspired by everyone involved, in this moment in time! 🥰❤️🤗❤️🐴❤️🤝❤
He really is a sweetheart Shae … and his personality shines through even during non-riding times. Just thinking of the short you posted the other day, whereby he was sitting like a dog! 😂🤣😂 He’ll definitely make somebody a great companion riding horse when his time comes. I like how you really ensure they’re ready to move on, before you ever consider a forever home! You take pride in your horsemanship and that’s evident in how you treat them … and others! I’m sure you’ll have another project before you ever ‘back’ either Ariel or Ezzy … and I’m not counting Lumiere. Especially seeing you’re already searching for a forever home for Arlo … and I think Gaston will follow shortly thereafter, if you haven’t already mentioned it! It’s a great outdoor arena … good footing and lots of room. It seems to be pretty quiet, even though it’s not all that secluded. Looking forward to the next VLOG … and are the stalls getting done soon or has that been slightly delayed, given the expenses you’ve incurred as of late? Have a blessed weekend! 🙏🙌❤️🇨🇦🍎🐴🥕🐎🍏
Piper is such a great girl! Anyone else would have wanted to ride a little more, yet she realized taking it slow and steady is best!❤😊. Mushu did great! I love your channel!!❤😊❤
I was soo happy when I opened up my phone and saw that there was a new video!! I look so forward to every one of them. He is such a handsome horse ❤. I’d give anything to own him. He’s soo sweet.
Several things, I think the body armor actually looks really cool as well as being a great piece of protection. And, Mushi has his foundation skills nailed, so this was I think pretty easy for him and he knows Piper which is a plus. She posts very well by the way! He is a great little-big guy. Looking forward to seeing him on new adventures/ trail rides etc. I know the horse's feel the pleasure and fun along with thier rider's and then look forward to being saddled up and made ready to go for that. Lastly, my hubby who loves to do projects and restoration work has often said, it is the additional last 10 % effort-work put in that makes the difference between good and excellence. He is a perfectionist. Shae, you go the full 100% on your horses and with all you do. It certainly shows!👍👍
Great job Piper and Mushu! This is why I enjoy watching you, you take the time and don’t rush things when starting a new horse like Mushu who was untrained. This video shows how much you trust him by letting Piper ride him already! Bravo 👏 Plus Piper is a great rider, and to get on a green horse can be a little nerve racking, because he’s young still, things can happen quickly and you have to be prepared for that. When you said you’ve had him for 2 years, I’m like whoa! How time flys by, I remember when he came to you sight unseen ❤
What a treat this video is!!! I have been wishing you would show more of your training methods, Mushu is a great example of them. It's funny but I live on the west coast, I am a western rider, and am old enough to be your grandmother, I am not a trainer by any means but I have trained colts from babies along with lots of green horses in my lifetime with basically the same methods as you. TH-cam makes a small world! She was reading Mushu nicely and he was listening to her. Good job! Thank you for being such a good mentor to your students, but also think how much better many horse's lives will be because you trained you students so well.🥰
Mushu would be a nice therapy horse down the road. He is slow and more whoa than go, which he may be happy in that field. Plus he is short and less intimidating to those with disabilities.
Mushu is so fricken cute! 🥰 He's so sweet and personable. I think he's my choice for best personality at Free Spirit! Each member of the herd has their own special quality. 🐴💖
What a nice well rounded lesson. Mushu is doing great. Piper is learning how a green broke horse feels. I'm really impressed with your training skills. Your students will go on an become knowledgeable equestrians.
great job Piper, calm, paying attention and competent as she follows direction and supports Mushu. Great learning for both of them!! The drama is that everything went so well.
Mushu sure is a sweetie and really tries hard to please. All of your horses have such sweet temperaments and are good. I think it’s because you really take your time with them, and they feel safe (as a prey animal can feel).
I just love your style of Teaching her (going into depth) all the small details of what to look out for and Why... Its basically teaching her how learn and watch for things ahead of time. You show your gifts above and beyond your love for the animals/horses

They did very well together. Its great that they get to learn together.
It certainly shows!👍👍
Thank you!! From watching this I think i need to work on my leg a little more lol
@@pipers6529 Watching yourself ride is one of the best ways to improve.
Wow Mushu and Piper did so good! Great training season! Mushu is a good boy!❤️😀🐗
Mushu would be anyones dream horse honestly 😍
Those two were an awesome team and you were an awesome teacher. 🤗
Mushu is quite the character!
Piper and Mushu did great! Learning together. Love It! ❤❤❤❤
Good job! Thank you for being such a good mentor to your students, but also think how much better many horse's lives will be because you trained you students so well.🥰
You are such a kind an expert trainer. I wish I could learn more from you. Your a wonderful Lady
You are such a wonderful teacher
Mushu would be a nice therapy horse down the road. He is slow and more whoa than go, which he may be happy in that field. Plus he is short and less intimidating to those with disabilities.
Shae. You are a fantastic instructor!!! I think Piper is the best student to help you with Mushu's training. Ya'll make a great team!!!! :)
Thank you!
Mushu is so fricken cute! 🥰 He's so sweet and personable. I think he's my choice for best personality at Free Spirit! Each member of the herd has their own special quality. 🐴💖
I enjoy watching Piper ride Mushu. And I enjoy watching you teach Piper. You have a calm demeanor and you ask questions that make her think.
What a nice well rounded lesson. Mushu is doing great. Piper is learning how a green broke horse feels. I'm really impressed with your training skills. Your students will go on an become knowledgeable equestrians.
...mud in the ears... some things never change with having a horse... 🤩
Piper certainly wants to learn and you are a good teacher
Yes!! I love learning new things at my happy place!! AKA the barn!!
Oh my gosh, I loved seeing this! Mushu is doing such a great job, and loved to see one of your students featured in a video! They both did great!
great job Piper, calm, paying attention and competent as she follows direction and supports Mushu. Great learning for both of them!! The drama is that everything went so well.
Mushu sure is a sweetie and really tries hard to please. All of your horses have such sweet temperaments and are good. I think it’s because you really take your time with them, and they feel safe (as a prey animal can feel).
Lovely job , Piper. You probably want to gallop in the wind, but this is true horsemanship...teaching the basics to a newbie. Well done!❤
Piper looking good. Mushy your father makes you look like you have no feet. Lol. Nice stop. You all did excellent. 🎉
Both rider and mount did an amazing job. 🎉🎉🎉
You get out what you put in ❤
She was doing absolutely amazing, but that young rider on his back what a good boy
I just love your style of Teaching her (going into depth) all the small details of what to look out for and Why... Its basically teaching her how learn and watch for things ahead of time. You show your gifts above and beyond your love for the animals/horses
